The flag scene is probably one of the best moments i've seen in a similar production, it was soooo well done that I couldn't stop smiling and feeling complete! Everything felt perfect! Such a great episode, this series keeps getting better and better! And both OffGun and YokDan leave me breathless! <3
I agree with you, I usually like Singto's acting: he was still a bit off in Sotus but I think his performance in "he's coming to me" was very well done and on point, for example... which demonstrates that he can do way better than what we're seeing now - and even now, there are certain moments in which he's great and certain other moments in which he looks "confused", but I would be too, because a lot of absurd things are happening in this drama. ^^'
This is probably the most hilarious thing I've seen in a long time, the opening song is so funny and Mob's reactions at everything that happens around him just crack me up... XD
I really hope S2 will cover the "tropes" of BLs once characters are in relationship, after we've seen all the encounters cliches in this S1.
I'm so happy I watched this while it was airing: these 3 months have been great thanks to the amazing rollercoaster that BB crew gave us. I cried for almost half of this last episode, in a mix of happiness (because PatPran are just so so SO cute!) and sadness (...well, it is sadly the last episode...).
This drama was unique in many ways, but probably the thing that makes it fantastic is this crisp, fresh, soft, positive way of telling a basically simple story, with which anyone can empathize, and make the characters come to life by being REAL and not the classic "types" of a BL.
Thanks for this experience. Can't wait to see P'Aof next projects. Lots of love to our best buddies!
This drama was such a wild trip! For me it started off weird, I couldn't immerse myself in the events; I couldn't empathize with Hira but I felt very close to Kiyoi and therefore it was such a frustrating journey... but still, I watched till the end and I'm glad I did it: the last episode was amazing, such a great performance from these young actors! Kiyoi gave me the chills in the second half of the last episode, his acting was so vivid! I think I'll rewatch it in a couple of weeks because I feel like it deserves a more accurate watch.
I totally don't get the ending of episode 8, since it was Phap himself to tell Maze to clarify things... ^^' I'm very confused about Phap's character: Maze is showing some development from episode to episode, but Phap is just so weird (I would have called the cops if, going in my hotel room, I'd find a hanging voodoo doll made out of towels and a dead body made out of blankets in my bed...!).
Omg I just noticed this series and it stars Takahashi Issei, so it's a must-watch! Plus as an ace I was really waiting for something addressing other flags of the lgbt community! Yay!
Question: where do you guys watch the raw episodes?
Well, it was much better than I thought! I had fun almost till the end... the last two episodes were unnecessary and boring, but still, it was a fun watch.
I loved Sarawat: he was funny, full of surprises, gentle and his character was well written (even though sometimes it felt a bit stiff), probably one of my favourite male leads in a school BL. Tine was cute at the beginning and very funny, but from the second half of the drama his character was terribly dull, lame and his jealousy was unbearable.
I honestly didn't feel the lack of "physical interactions" as a problem, even tho' it was a bit odd (especially being that they hinted at intimacy so many times)... but well, you could still feel the love (at least coming from Sarawat's caring attentions and actions).
One thing: is it just me, or Bright looks a lot like Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson in Titans, Henry Turner in Pirates of the Carribean)? Especially in the last couple of episodes I couldn't stop imagining him dressed in a leather outfit and going around kicking bad guys XD
I heard contrasting reviews on this drama but, having basically watched all other BLs in Thai industry and being that this series stars Gun, here I am. As I was expecting, the first 6 episodes were a blast and I bingewatched them in one night... now, I suppose the pain will start. ^^'
Ok, this series is making me laugh so much: the sketches between Maze&Phap are so funny, they have a great "friendship" chemistry! But, I felt like the "lovers" moment in ep 6 was soooooooo abrupt and empty... honestly it made me a bit sad because I was really hoping for something better.
I like the contrast between the openness and direct acting of Tae/Phap who is always over the top but yet feeling natural, and the subtle acting of Maze/Singto who's in a very "emotionless" role but still manages to come out in certain moments (I don't know if I made myself clear, sorry XD). I think slowly Phap's energy will take Maze out of the shell and he'll shine in the same way too. :)
Woah! This short series manages to tell a deeper, more complex and better done story then many longer products out there! Kudos to everyone involved in this project! The actors are AMAZING, especially Noah/YuShi who is so convincing in both the identities. There were so many meaningful scenes that were put together in a mosaic of little "bites of life", that together created a story with characters who grew, evolved, were so real!
The only thing I didn't love was the "secondary couple" that honestly was a bit too rushed, but I understand it was put there probably in the hope of another series.
I am SO amazed at this series, each and every episode is so meaningful and rich! PxP are a terrific couple, so balanced and fresh and real... the perfect friends/lovers .<3
But I must admit for almost half of this episode I kept watching Pa and thinking, jeez isn't she the cutest girl on earth! She has such perfect and harmonious facial features! Please P'Ink leave her to me, I want to marry this cutiepie! <3
Loved it! Unfortunately the video quality on youtube wasn't great but still, I'm grateful it was there! Beautiful performance from the leading actors, interesting plot and definitely well made. It was rough at times while showing the struggles of a single mother (..."sort of"), of a woman at work, of people trying to find themselves, of people challenging their beliefs... deep, sweet, interesting.
The only thing I didn't really like was the last part: I think somehow the storytelling underlined the fact that Tan(ya) was forced to grow in a way against his will, just like it was unnatural of him to be a drag... and the ending was therefore a bit too abrupt (even though the focus was the voyage and not the destination).
All in all, beautiful movie... and Ananda was very convincing both as Tan and as Tanya!
Thank you for this post! I just finished watching "Me Myself" and it was a great movie... thanks for suggesting it, even though it's old it's still a deep story with a couple of amazing actors.
From time to time I come back to SOTUS, and I always ask myself: with all the amazing pictures from Singto, why did they choose that terrible one for the main poster? XD
This is probably the series I took the most time to watch. I kept falling asleep again and again and AGAIN. Unfortunately I have this "don't-drop-anything" syndrome and I had to finish it, but I must admit I fast forwarded the last 3 episodes... yeah exactly: it took me FOUR MONTHS to watch five episodes and then I just watched the last three in one hour fast forwarding. Which wasn't a huge miss, since basically all we've got are the same scenes repeated in different orders or from different angles or told by different people.
The idea perse is not bad and let's give credits to some amazing cinematography (sometimes) and atmospheres (sometimes). The "nostalgic melancholy" that pervades most of the first part is very deep and feels real and vivid. But then when the real plot starts... well, it doesn't actually start because it keeps curling in itself flashback after flashback. I also didn't really like the acting, I understand that most of the actors are rookies but it felt too stiff for me.
The songs were a pain, pardon me... I usually love OST and songs in thai dramas but here it was a bit TOO much of people singing. ^^' And the ending? What was that ending for? It looks like it implies a second season is coming and I really ask myself... why?

As always, Tanshi rocks!

Such a soft voice. <3

All in all, one of the best gay stories of 2021.
