When the Emperor asked Li Chuan to choose between him or his mother, did he literally mean this his mother will be sacrificed/killed if LC chose him?
I don't understand why Li Chuan cannot tell him that he wants to protect his mother but he will not side with the noble families. Just like Li Rong who is working with Pei Wen Xuan towards the dream where the noble families and common folks will be treated equally. That is what the Emperor wants and if Li Rong can go down that path, why can't Li Chuan?
Do JX and HT get together while she is still reporting to him as her investor/boss? I keep expecting this to be a slow burn romance where they won't get together until JX is successful with her own business but I am hoping to be surprised.
When JX was in Guanghua, that colleague was at least nice to her and got her back. So maybe that's why she is not suspicious of her. If I were JX though, I would tell that girl to stop with all the negative comments and bringing the team down.
Agree. The show definitely rushed through the bf becoming an ex storyline and left out the necessary emotions. Even the parents are like, 'whatever, if he's not right for you, then fine'. No matter how busy she was, JX should have been more heartbroken.
Me too but I hope they don't officially get together until the very end, and it is after the ex BF sees the leads happily move on that he is willing to move on...hehe

In that case, he's not even valuing her. Just treating her as a doormat. Regardless, for someone so suspicious of even his own children, how can he not be wary of her? It's like she gets a free pass no matter what she does, and the emperor has caught her doing stuff against him a few times already. Whether he truly thinks she's weak or not, he should at least be suspicious.
