Just finished ep 1... I know it's too early to judge, but it was so boring lol Didn't captivate me at all.
I see some people saying it picks up at ep 5. I guess I will wait until more eps are out and continue then :)

You are right! I guess I have a soft spot for pitiful characters and sometimes not able to see other character's suffering therefore 😂 Be it TTJ or XL of Lost You Forever.... I tend to get attached to selfless characters who sacrifices themselves for their love or the world, who, in my opinion, don't deserve their love lol

Although I absolutely loved their chemistry and enjoyed them together a lot at the beginning, the drama didn't feel romantic to me as it progressed. That’s what I actually meant—not that love or romance isn’t important.

It's sad that Li Su Su had to first become an omniscient deity to finally trust and believe in him fully, recognizing the sacrifices he made. Well, but he died anyway after sacrificing himself for a world that treated him terribly.

lol I'm just salty. So, it's just my personal feelings to this drama. Writers maybe intended different, but I formed another opinion of it :D Still love this drama tho!

I missed TTJ, so rewatched this drama and can confirm again how almost everyone in this drama is a hypocrite, especially FL 😅 All the cruel and hateful things she said to him. Watching it the second time, makes me pity TTJ even more.

All those high morals were extended to everyone but TTJ, just because he had the "devil's fate". I swear, everyone else was the devil but him lol He was the one who showed mercy first to everyone who harmed him, tho they laughed it off, provoked him even more and then he took action. But when it's him, who defends himself and kills the people who tries to kill him... oh no, then he is hopelessly evil, but everyone else is not. Full of hypocrites.

Still, this drama is awesome! 😂 One of the few Xianxia's that I love and TTJ became one of my all-time favourite drama characters. Tho for me this was definitely not a romantic love story. He deserved so much better 😭💔

Glad I'm not the only one 😅 But I haven't watched that much dramas of his to know if he plays any other distinctive different characters. I actually think his acting range is much bigger but due to his role choices, especially in modern dramas, I believe that he's not able to show it.
Wish to see him in a completely different role someday. Doesn't have to be romance. Thriller, Action... just something else :D

I know his fanbase is big, but I personally never encountered a rude fan of his before, so I wasn't afraid of speaking my thoughts 😊 I had some really bad encounters with other fanbase tho, but his fans always answered nicely to my comments, even if I have a different opinion :)

Really?! I clearly haven't seen enough dramas of his then 😂 I watched him mainly in modern dramas and he played almost the same character every time 😅 I also watched "She and her perfect husband", but dropped it sadly.

He stars in quite a few Xianxia, but I'm not a fan of this genre, so don't really watch them often. I considered watching "Wonderland of Love" tho, because it's just historical. What kind of personality does he have in that one? And does it have Wuxia elements? (Floating fighting for example...not fan of that lol)

Can you tell me in which dramas he plays a quirky character then? I think as quirky as Gu Yan Zhen would be too much to ask, but maybe similar? 😂

Is there any other drama of Xu Kai's where he doesn't play the same type of character? "Arsenal Military Academy " is actually the first drama I've watched of him and I absolutely adored him as Gu Yan Zhen. He slayed that quirky character but I've never encountered him again, where he doesn't play the aloof ML. I feel like that's the only drama I watched of his where he played a character with a distinctive different personality.

I wish he would take more versatile roles, but it seems he plays the same character all over again... I literally watched "Best Choice Ever" before this and the characters he played could be the same person lol

Ending of ep 15 is one of the best scenes I've seen in Dramaland. Sometimes I'm just rewatching that scene, because it's so well-made and the acting is so phenomenal of everyone.

Please read my comment again. I wasn't discussing the show's overall popularity, only the final episodes. Based on the comments, it seems I enjoyed the last episodes more than most viewers did :) That's what I meant with minority. Also, what does the gender of the fans have to do with this?

Finally caught up on all the episodes. I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually enjoyed the last episodes more than the rest of the drama.

The plot was strong overall, but the execution could've been better. It felt really draggy at times. Honestly, I sensed the chemistry between the leads, but they didn't captivate me as a couple. Even tho they definitely had great kiss scenes, their "undying" love didn't feel convincing. It seemed like the writers and director didn't invest much effort in developing their relationship.

With a plot like this, their potential to be a dynamic, angsty and sizzling couple was immense, but it fell short. Additionally, the ML's character could've been explored more. Compared to 2ML, his character exploration was almost non-existent, which is disappointing because I really like the actor and believe they could've been an intriguing couple with better writing.

I'm having an unpopular opinion again, but I really liked the character and story of Su Rong Qing. For me, he was the most pitiful character of all and if this drama was based on him as the male lead, I bet everyone would be rooting for him lol

However, since he's the 2ML, the default dislike is unavoidable. But imo, he was the most fleshed out and I could understand all his actions and desire for revenge. Li Chuan became a monstrous emperor in the first life, so I wasn't on board with making him emperor again. Throughout the last episodes, I didn't care who would win, but I definitely couldn't blame Su Rong Qing for turning out the way he did.

But I agree 100% that he had too much screen time for a second lead. No wonder his story was more fleshed out and explored. If the writers put as much effort to leads's characters and relationship, I would've liked, understood and enjoyed them more.

Acting-wise, I agree that the leads were much better. Chen He Yi was decent but not outstanding for a character like Su Rong Qing.

Honestly, the background story of FL and 2ML as a couple could've been angsty, intriguing and melodramatic if they were actually the main couple. They were already pretty angsty and had great scenes together, I can totally imagine the depth of angst and how great it could've been.

Overall, it was a good drama but could've been better :)

I wanted to binge-watch S2 when it finished airing, but couldn't hold myself back reading comments considering that it's ending soon... but after reading some, I feel like I will skip S2 all together... 😅 I already knew about XL's ending, so I was prepared for that, but it seems the writers messed this drama up to a certain degree.

S1 was so amazing and I don't want this drama to leave a bad memory for me, so I guess S1 ending is the ending I chose to live with. I think I can live better without watching S2 ever. At least XL was alive 🥲

Yes, I guess we have a complete different view of this drama and need of watching dramas. Except that I also really like fictional genres :D

I really wish they would put more efforts in PWX's backstory. It's really hard to relate to his complete devotion to FL.

We never got to see how he fell in love with her. Be it in the first or present life... I feel there would've been so much potential in ML's character if his motivations would be further developed...

I mean he's definitely manipulative and schemes in his own interest, but the leads are the same... They act in their own interests too and try to manipulate situations from happening.

Can we blame him for trying to change the crown prince by any means necessary after his family was massacred in the first life?

I watch dramas for all characters and the overall story, not just the leads, so I guess I'm not prejudiced to any character per se.

SRQ is definitely not a saint and acting in his own interests (gaining power and try saving his family), but can someone blame him after what happened to him and his family in first life?

Also the leads are not that much better imo. Lots of grayish characters in this drama, which I actually prefer :D
