I can’t be the only one thinking Chinese Wuxia/Xianxia writers have some serious sadist tendencies. They love torturing the good, innocent characters till their very last breath through pure agony and suffering... yet they’re so damn merciful with the villains! Those evil ones die fast, painless deaths… or worse, walk away with no punishment at all. Like those fkn Yiqi fckrs?! Also Jing Ting died way too fast for my liking ...

Balance, people. Ever heard of it? That’s why I really appreciated Fated Hearts. I vibed so hard with that whole “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth” energy... something we barely ever get in Wuxia 🥲

After ep. 17, I'm actually starting to root for the evil tree and fox 🤣 The main villain here is 100000000% the fkn Yiqi Alliance. I think my hate alone for them would make that evil tree bloom to the fullest and keep it alive forever lol

No seriously... WTF?!?!?! I really wish Fu Gui would've just killed them. None of them deserved to be saved by him. Those monsters. Absolutely disgusting pack of ungrateful hypocrite bastards. I want them to die a miserable death. The whole fkn Alliance. I really can't comprehend those brainless monsters.

Even Fu Gui could not help a stunned laugh at their stupidity...

The Yiqi Alliance is a pack of brainless zombies, honestly much worse than any demon out there. I really hope the whole Alliance rots away by the end of the drama, except for a very few exceptions. That damn Alliance was and will always be evil, whether it’s in LIP or here. A few good people among them don’t change a thing. You can’t convince me otherwise. It’s always them who start those massacres against demons and then when the demons want revenge, they suddenly play the victims like, “Oh no, those evil demons.” 🤮

They’re so painfully brainless, it actually hurts to watch. They don’t deserve to be saved by Fu Gui and Ru Mu at all. This is one of those times I wish we had a morally grey protagonist who’d just let them deal with the consequences of their own stupidity, but I know that’s not happening here lol

I watched the first episode of Love in Pavilion just to understand Madam Yin’s grudge against Fu Gui, Hong Ye and the Yiqi Alliance, and honestly, I totally get her!!!

***spoilers of LIP***

Her entire clan and family were massacred by one of the Yiqi Alliance families just because her clan stole some wood/tree, even though they never harmed anyone.
What’s even more tragic is that she wasn't even the one to seek revenge back then. It was her almost-husband, Hou Ming Hao’s character, who took vengeance for her by killing people from that Yiqi Alliance family.

Then Hong Ye and Huai Zhu came to defeat them, but instead they made some kind of deal. (And seriously, I hated how in that specific case Hong Ye didn’t show even a shred of remorse knowing what HIS Alliance had done. Instead, he basically threatened them with that so-called sacrifice deal... well, well, it seems he was always an a**hole even back then lol Just Huai Zhu had compassion and empathy towards the innocent demons, who were killed. Fu Gui comes 100% after his mother luckily.. )
So Madam Yin's husband/lover then sacrificed himself for their home, but that’s where I get confused. It seemed pretty clear he was supposed to come back after cultivating, so how did she believe he was dead and end up turning evil? Also her LIP version didn’t strike me as the type who’d go around slaughtering innocent spiders either... but well...

And knowing now what a hypocrite Hong Ye turned out to be, I couldn’t help but laugh at his self-righteous speeches in LIP in ep.1. He really thought he was morally superior to his corrupted Alliance, yet look what he became. Revenge and grudges truly are a devil’s circle.

So whether it’s here or in Love in Pavilion, it’s always the damn Yiqi Alliance starting all the chaos. Maybe they’re the real root of evil, not that so-called evil tree? lol

The Wangquan clan are awful and I really hate hypocrites like that. Except for Fei and Tingyun. Hong Ye frustrates me the most. At least the villains admit what they are. He seems to believe he’s in the right, which makes him even more exasperating. "Do you even see me as your father anymore?" WTF!!! ARE YOU FKN SERIOUS?! DO YOU EVEN SEE HIM AS YOUR SON?!?! OH GOD... I LOATHE HIM! It feels like his judgement died along with the people he cared about, so I find it hard to sympathize with him.... And I won't til the end. I won't fkn care when he will sacrifice himself or dies whatsoever. He's awful!

He didn't lift a freaking finger while his hypocrite clan almost killed his son, yet when the Fu Gui defended himself Hong Ye attacked him? It’s infuriating... I want to punch him so bad!!! I won't shed a single tear when he's gonna die.

Do people who watched Love In Pavillon still have sympathy for him after todays episodes? I guess I won't ever watch Love in Pavillon. I wouldn't be able to watch it knowing what kind of person he turns into.

Binge-watched the episodes over the last few days and it turned out to be such a heart-warming drama! Tbh, I agree with some of the comments, there were definitely too many “main” characters and most of them didn’t really catch my interest.

What makes me a bit sad is that my favorite couple never got to truly explore their relationship phase. It feels like the show wasted the potential of what could’ve been a truly amazing couple. They went from strangers to friends to a slow-burn couple and honestly, they had more depth and chemistry than anyone else in the story. But I guess this wasn’t meant to be a romance drama, more of a slice-of-life one.

Still, I’d absolutely recommend it for the lovely dimple couple (Le and Mai) and the people around them. Especially Le, what a green-flag man! He’s emotionally secure, so gentle and ended up being my favorite character. I also adored his whole Xu family, the mom, the dad, and everyone at the Zhen Qiang restaurant.

Honestly, the drama could’ve just focused on them and the restaurant and Mai's job. It felt so real, authentic and full of heart. I’ll admit, I skipped some of the other storylines, but I rewatched so many scenes with Le, Mai, and Le’s family.

Sorry not sorry, but Hong Ye is just as evil as his enemies and his evil brother. Maybe even worse, because he still believes he’s doing something righteous. His tragic past doesn’t justify his horrible behavior imo.

My gosh, if Huai Zhu could see what kind of person he turned into, she’d be rolling in her grave. Watching Love in the Pavilion after Sword and Beloved feels almost impossible, if one knows in what kind of person he turns into...

Mai You Ge is such a yapper, when she's excited and I just love how Xu Jun Le is softly watching her with such loving eyes, while she's yapping lol

Just started this and I’m on ep. 4 now and absolutely loving the Mai You Ge and Xu Jun Le couple. Funny thing is, I originally started watching for Elvis, but that other couple totally stole my heart. They’re so soft, adorable, and just feel so real and authentic. Xu Jun Le has this specific kind of charm that’s hard to put into words. His gaze is so gentle and warm. Also really loving Amy Chen in this one!

Does Mr. Fei perhaps know that Fu Gui has someone in his residence caring for him? Because when Fu Gui went blind he made such a comment: "You're terrible at taking care of yourself. Now, with impaired vision, how are you going to take care of yourself in daily life?"

Sounds like he definitely knows that there is someone lol

Really subtle observation, but I loved how he asked her first if she wanted to be human instead of just turning her into one in that crucial situation. This couple is so soft. I love it 🥰

Honestly, of all the female warriors I’ve seen this year, Fu Yi Xiao felt the most real and badass. Li Qin ate that role up! I really hope she keeps getting more powerful roles like this, because she’s made for them!

I feel like I'm finally watching one of these feel-good Kdramas again, which I absolutely loved in the 2010s. Having high hopes for this one :)

You know what else I absolutely loved about this drama? The fair amount of protagonists dying lolIn most war or…
And they almost got me here too... when Lu Ke and Yun Fang were talking in ep. 34 about having a duel after everything was over. “It’s a deal!” That’s usually the classic death flag moment where you just know one of them (or both) won’t make it out alive. I literally rolled my eyes thinking, “Yup, here we go again.” But to my surprise… they didn’t kill either of them!!! I was so happily shocked I could’ve cried. 😭

In most war or revenge dramas, the writers just can’t resist killing off every single sidekick of the leads and I hate that!!! It’s often completely illogical, like they’re killing characters just for the sake of dramatic effect.

Ugh I finished this but I'm not over it. This is one of the very few dramas I wish I could forget completely so…
I wanted to recommend "The Legend of Shen Li", but I already see it in your watchlist ;)

This is off and on topic: it was a couple of years ago that I found Kdramas. Somewhere along the crazy binge,…
Me kinda too… But I’ve been watching K-dramas for about 15 years, so when I first started C-dramas, it took me a bit to really get into them. But now? I still watch K-dramas, but C-dramas just hit differently for me. Lately, all my favorite dramas have been C-dramas! ❤️

What a wild ride, enjoyed it immensely. Two comments: why was the blood so orange and why do female generals have…
I loved her bow fights, especially when she got that other bow in the end, which made these thrilling sounds. I loved it!
