Watched the trailer and the FL gave me Li Qin vibes from The Song of Glory. I’m intrigued. Also isn’t the ML that evil prince from Princess Agents? I’m going to have to retrain my brain now. He has such a sketchy look.
It's finally out OMG! It dropped out of nowhere and I found it in my YouTube recommendations. I am going to dedicate myself to getting my heart ripped out while I binge this. ???
I really like both leads but this show is somehow... boring... I fell asleep half way in Ep 9 and woke up not…
The storyline about silk threads and the merchant business is a snooze fest. There's a lack of any action to mix up the many scenes of talking and failed comedy. There are no stakes or just anything to really root for because the characters aren't in any kind of imminent danger or have a goal that engages us. So far the drama is just a whole lot of nothing and banking on the star power of Bai Lu and her chemistry with the male lead to keep viewers interested even though most people here seem to prefer the SML over him. Looks like a failure in all categories and I can't say I want to watch more until the entire drama is fully aired and maybe things start to pick up in the later episodes.
Can anyone tell me, in what episode do you think the attitude of FL will change? I'm not saying her attitude is…
This is my exact problem so far with the show. I love Bai Lu but her character here is just so annoying at this point. Maybe I’m just over the fact that grown ass women are always being written with the maturity of a 12 year old and somehow the most sought after men in the show are attracted to this type of behavior.
I've been asking myself that same question for years so I totally feel you. Normal FLs are hard to come by but…
I watched Ancient Detective and while I like the FL I wish there was more depth to her. She seemed more like an accessory to the ML’s journey and there was just nothing interesting about her beyond her assassin background. This seems to also be a shortcoming in most cdramas as well. Write a really interesting character but never commit to developing her beyond her purpose as a love interest.
I suppose the reason why Bai Lu’s character is so over the top is bc this is a comedy but I kind of wish they’d tone down her crassness. It’s such an unrealistic caricature. One of my many pet peeves about cdramas is how they always exaggerate the FL to one of two extremes—unbelievable boneheaded stupidity due to her naïveté and “cuteness” or socially rude or gross behavior just to show she’s “not like the other girls” which is the case here. Why can’t I just get normal female leads for once?
So does the FL not know martial arts at all? Do they explain how she's even the leader when she's this helpless? I'm only on ep 3 and it's bugging me bc I'm so used to seeing Bai Lu kick ass.
After 6 episodes I have to say it is a bit disappointing. The story is ok despite some streched elements. There…
I was a bit worried about the male lead. He's always been so wooden every time I see him act. Guess it's the same here as well. They should have gotten someone more dynamic to match Bai Lu. She has so much chemistry with everyone she acts with.
Ok referencing Zhao Yao, Shen Lige, Chu Qiao and Fuyao kind of gives me some hope. I've been stuck wondering if I should go past ep 3 for two weeks. I really can't stand the FL at the moment.
I'm liking this drama! Almost close to the end and wish there were more eps. I think the second male lead is much better than the main one. He's so fun and has better chemistry with Feng Wu.
