Maybe it’s just me but I feel like the main couple definitely got a role reversal. The ML is totally playing the role of the female in this relationship which is something I’ve never seen before. I actually like it. He doesn’t seem childish to me at all, just very Duanmu centric which makes him very one dimensional. If there’s one thing I will fault the drama at it’s that every character is obsessed with Duanmu Cui. It’s a good thing I like her though!

The FL and ML were everything that Love and Redemption tried and failed at. This is just a vastly superior drama and I’m sad it only has a 7.9 rating. I don’t know why people are put off with it being split into two seasons. It’s not their fault they had to do that to get around the ridiculous Cdrama censorship. I’m glad we’re getting a complete story and not something that was chopped up like Renascence.

The opening credits remind me of The Legends. Very beautiful OST with nice colorful stills of the cast. Doesn’t spoil anything and leaves you with a lot of intrigue. I love it!

Ahhh I binged all 32 eps in a week and need season 2 to come out ASAP. I'm loving this couple and the story is quite interesting. Finally we have a FL who isn't an idiot. I hope that doesn't change.

All of these 10/10 reviews are highly sus. Makes me wonder if people’s standards dropped so dramatically or these people are all related to the scriptwriter lmao.

I wouldn’t watch this if you expect characters to act like normal human beings. This is way too idealized and exaggerated and not in the good way either.

Yeah they should have gotten someone better for the FL. It would have been a lot more bearable.

She’s terrible! There’s no nuance to her acting. She just overreacts and does what she “thinks” a teenager should act like. I’ll forever have PTSD from her screaming “Si Feng” a million times over. Ugh!

Ugh so this isn’t a GL drama? What a disappointment. Guess I’ll take it off my list then.

It's like they all forgot he killed her in the first ep lol. Not sure how you can write a romance around that awkward moment. I prefer her with the prince but I always have SML syndrome in shows like this.

I’m up to ep 6 and she seems pretty naive. Doesn’t seem like a female general to me at all. If you were to compare her to someone like Huo Xuan from Untouchable Lovers it’s not even close. I expected someone more shrewd and cunning idk. The plot is interesting at least so I’ll keep watching.

Only on ep 6 but I'm not really liking how the ML is treating the FL so far. Not a fan of main couples being emotionally abusive or manipulative towards each other just for the drama. It's exhausting and infuriating to watch.
