I wasn't a super fan of the Thai original because the pacing was way too slow and uneven with too much filler, and I also didn't feel that Thomas and Kong really suited the characters. At least this has a ML who actually looks like a bad boy (and not just a quiet, introverted boy) and because of the shorter runtime, they've tightened up the pacing considerably. Often the shorter runtime in Japanese remakes means they skip over plot elements and things feel a bit too rushed, but maybe in this case it will come out better.
What a solid performance especially from Min in this. It's not easy to play such an emotionally locked-down and stone-faced character and still have so much intense presence and quiet menace. Especially for a rookie actor! The first thing that really impressed me was during the photoshoot with Pakin, where Sun's gaze was kind of blank, with zero expression, and then Pakin gave him some direction, and his eyes just... *changed*. It was very subtle but also very powerful. Min managed to work with microexpressions to the point that just the shadow of a tiny smile on his face stood out like a major event. I'm extremely curious to see his future projects after this, whether it's with Toptap or some other constellation of actors.
Where was Two-O the entire time Sun was unconscious in the hospital? I was really confused in the scene when Songphan…
I think there might have been a translation error (or exaggeration) with the "for weeks" thing. He was probably only unconscious for a day, at the most two, or he would have been on life support and his wounds wouldn't have looked so fresh. And he got caught up in Sky's kidnapping/trap and then got stabbed and lost consciousness, so he probably didn't have time to send it until after he woke up in the hospital. I'm assuming Sunny/Bank kept Two-O locked up somewhere in the mean time (remember that he was setting that trap for Sun and Sky, using Sky as bait), but it can't have been two weeks because it doesn't make sense. What I'm wondering is, how did Sun get the video when Sunny/Bank grabbed Two-O's phone before he could send it? Because we saw the convo on Sun's phone and there was no file transfer. Sun lost contact with Two-O at that point. Either I missed something, or that's a continuity error.
Do you mean that his entire bio is a mix-up with someone else's bio? So all the info is wrong?
Yes please! Because his bio here says he is a university student, which would make him over 18 (not that I'm as concerned about that as many people here, I'd just like to know the real facts)
Same, miss Ohm!, wish to see him as a lead in a BL again, but I fear it might not happen because of the crazy…
Yeah, I would be VERY surprised if Ohm Pawat ever chose to act in a BL again. It's not worth the fandom toxicity. I bet he even regrets ever doing Bad Buddy.
I'm confused by the tag "censored adaptation of same-sex original work". A censored adaptation only makes sense if it was licensed to air in China, but in that case it probably can't even be aired unless it's completely butchered beyond recognition (and it also cannot have 96 episodes). But if it is made only for non-mainland distribution, then a censored adaptation doesn't make sense at all. Especially if it's helmed by Chai Jidan.
I saw a tweet with a screenshot that said production would start in May this year (though the tweeter seemed to have misinterpreted that as the air date), which seems to indicate the latter case, uncensored but only for distribution outside of China. Which only makes me wonder how they'll have a budget for 96 full length episodes. Usually only Chinese mainland dramas can get that kind of budget.
The trailer being filmed like Challengers is fucking sending me. And they named it Match Point too, good going…
I too would like a poly gay throuple but I don't think that's in the cards with Thai BL for a long time, if ever. Too many people see it as "cheating".
People really need to stop acting like every rivals-to-lovers series is automatically a Bad Buddy copy.Bad Buddy:…
Also, Pat and Pran were secretly friends, just pretending to be enemies to appease their families. People were saying the same about Head 2 Head, which was also nothing like Bad Buddy, in H2H they were indeed enemies (or rather frenemies, constantly competing).
WAIT THE LEADS ARE COUSINS?! whyyyyyyyy 😭 someone tell me im wrong
They're only second cousins, not even first cousins (their parents were cousins). And it's not like they can have offspring together... which is the main reason some cultures ban or frown upon it, since there's a risk of inbreeding. Which is not a concern in this case, for obvious reasons.
I just don't trust Put at all and I'm kind of feeling like him and Dan are trying to get revenge on Jane Patrick…
I feel like everyone is manipulating Little Jane to the point where he doesn't know what's real or not. I do think that Big Jane has in fact not manipulated Little Jane so far—at least not more than anyone does who wants to look good for their love interest. But that doesn't mean that he's necessarily a decent guy. He's definitely dangerous.
I’m a bit back and forward with thisbig jane definitely has a back story. he is manipulative and playing the…
"The child" in front of Little Jane's house was Little Jane's younger brother. Big Jane played the Nice Son-in-Law Material sooo well during dinner, and then one moment of someone expressing a dream, he's right back to trying to make deals...with his love interest's *little brother*.
omg i was looking forward to watch this :( they should always put a disclaimer if something is "made"…
On the other hand, the Korean BL The Prosecutor's Proposal has a clear disclaimer in the intro credits that some parts of it were AI-generated (I think it's mostly the opening sequence, but not sure). And personally I find it a bit easier to accept when they are transparent about it instead of pretending that it's all human artistry (even though I still hate genAI)
