Most likely due to the large amount of termination fee must be paid (he's quiet popular before the scandal), that's why his agency wait until his contract ran out (which they did).
The quiet obvious one is confidence man sequels did not come in drama format, most likely he is signing a multi year/movie contract prior the scandal and whoever make the contract did not put scandals on the termination clauses.

Other than that, he is finished. probably only appear on festival/low budget/foreign films in the future.

"Dearest" is the English release title of Saiai. It's just the assumption from the contributor atm because mdl does not allow something like "Saiai Korean Remake" as the title.
