Actually, it can happen. The same thing happened to my sis, and you wouldn’t believe that it took her yrs to…
Ah, although I still can't wrap my head over it, I can empathize FL, and in extension you, given the situation.
I guess the only thing that bugs me now is, why didn't FL cut her losses early because she's kind of potentially facing a similar situation her mother faced: her crush having ambiguous relationship with his childhood sweetheart.
some of the most painful heartbreaks are from relationships that never started. you go crazy with the what ifs…
I'll post the same response I posted to above reply:
I can understand it if it's a one-sided crush over someone FL knew very well. My problem is, she barely knew the guy. And the guy didn't even show any good attitude towards her.
Adding more to it - ML is also currently in a one-sided crush, but he can be considered a good friend of hers as of now. They have real conversations, and they have an understanding of each other. Meanwhile, FL barely knows SML. In fact, she knows absolutely nothing about him lol. All she knows is what is she is being fed by others (her roommates, her cousin). And the guy made it seem like he doesn't want to have any association with her, and also belittles her.

Novel readers, please spoil me if ML's parents are still together? ML's mom says she's coming to China with some uncle, so I'm wondering if ML's parents are divorced or if his father had already passed away?
I’m really loving everything about the drama, but the one thing I can’t quite wrap my head around is why it’s being framed as if NXG can’t get over ZX—as though they’d just broken up after dating for a long time.
She only had a crush on someone she barely knew. At this point, she’s knows more about LYS in the few months she’s worked with him than she ever knew about ZX over all those years of acquaintance. There isn’t really anything to “get over". You can’t truly fall in love with someone you hardly know.
I think it would’ve made more sense if NXG and ZX had actually dated for a while and then broken up, with NXG still in the process of moving on when she met LYS. That way, during LYS’s pursuit, her emotional conflict would feel more grounded—she’d be trying to let go of a real past relationship, not a one-sided crush.
I really love the conversations between NXG and LYS. They flow so naturally, especially with all the "harmless flirting" woven in.
The last time I felt this kind of effortless chemistry in a leading pair’s interactions was when I watched the Before trilogy—Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004), and Before Midnight (2013). Highly recommended.
Honestly, I could watch ten full episodes of nothing but the two of them talking, and I wouldn’t get bored for a second.
This. He never confessed to FL, never even gave her hope. He always scolded her about her wealthy background &…
I know, I'm just mocking the narrative saying that SML's been dropping some subtle hints to FL that he's also into her and somehow she has to figure it out. It's ridiculous.

Oh hey, nice seeing you here!I also interpreted the scene similar way as you did when I watched it in the teaser…
Same, love Hank Voight. But my favorite is The Rookie. It's a lot of fun (also Chenford!!!). When I'm in the mood for something gritty, Chicago PD is the show. And if I need the feel to watch something that makes me feel like I'm home, it's Chicago Fire.
Yes, having the author also screen-write for the drama really works if the author can actually screen-write. Gu Man has been doing this for years, so it looks like she's got the hang of it.

I've been off c-dramas for a while and got back into American tv shows (The Rookie, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD) for a few months.
Stocked up about three of c-dramas I was interested in in the meantime and I have watched them all last month. So, this drama is basically the first c-drama I am watching live in months since Moonlit Reunion.

I'll just jump into ep 10 now.

This drama is basically 5-6 years of my waiting fulfilled lol. More about it in this comment I posted yesterday:
