Although I haven't read the novel, this novel has been on my radar for the past 5-6 years. I have come across the first part of the novel (the part in which SML is the ML, and ML is the SML, or at least, that's how it was portrayed) on Novel Updates. I read the reviews where they said FL ends up with SML (Yusen), not the ML (Xu), and that there's a second part yet to come out. I thought I'd wait for the second part and read the whole thing.
Then the second part came out, and it turns out, SML (Yusen) becomes the ML, and ML (Xu) becomes the SML, and I thought that's cool, thought I would give it a read, but unfortunately the novel turns out to be in first person perspective. I don't prefer this format, so I let go.
Thankfully, the drama was announced not long after, and I've been waiting for it ever since!!
im confused why the male lead even likes the female lead cuz like he just had one glance and this was like a whole…
I'm actually more confused why FL likes SML so much; the guy refuses her, ignores her, belittles her, has an ambiguous relationship with her roommate, and the list goes on.
On the ML side, actually it's more believable. He likes her, then thanks to his friend's misunderstanding he thinks she also likes him. Then confusion and anger because FL doesn't recognise him.
Let's move Wonderland of Love up on the list. Give it your #1 vote.Ancient Love Poetry is on the second page.…
One of the main reasons why I could never watch any of TJC's dramas is thanks to CL. 😂
I mean, nothing against the actor, he played his part. But I just couldn't get over his character in CL; whenever I attempt to watch his other dramas, I just can't get the image of Prince Zhou out my mind. It's fucked up, so I totally gave up trying now. A pity though, it looks like he's starred in some pretty good dramas.
All the guys are handsome, which one are you referring to?
Watch 'Time And Him Are Just Right', he's the main lead, starring opposite LYX (I believe this is her first drama starring as the main lead). Also recommend 'You Are My Lover Friend'. He's a second lead with his own romance plot. Most people enjoyed second leads romance over the main leads (not me though).
On episode 3, the drama is sooooo sooooo sooo gooood. But the constant loud background score during normal conversations between characters is just off-putting. If the drama weren't as good as it is, I would've dropped it long ago. A huge drawback (at least for me) on an otherwise amazing drama.
no, because they didn't know who they could trust or if the Wei family was apart of Chu's army massacre. Also…
This plot they created for the show, it wasn't in the novel.
Chu Yu's father and her army didn't suffer any defeat (because the Chu army actually guards the south while the Wei army guards the north). The novel is actually a rebirth novel, in which Chu Yu, in her previous life, elopes with Gu Chusheng the night before her wedding day with Wei Jun. She suffers in that life and dies. Upon rebirth, she decided to marry Wei Jun, so she didn't elope and got married to Wei Jun. On the day they are married, the Wei family is called to defend at the border, so Wei Jun leaves with his family without consummating his marriage. In the battle, everyone gets wiped out except for Wei Yun.
So, if the drama follows this path to place Chu Yu in the Wei family, that would be very taboo for her to have a relationship with Wei Yun. So, they probably introduced this plot to have her enter the Wei family to investigate the case, and probably didn't think it very thoroughly. In the novel, Wei Yun and Chu Yu not only have a relationship while they are still brother-in-law and sister-in-law, but they are also intimate and get pregnant too. All these plots would have to be removed and replaced in the drama to pass censorship, I guess.
I was very excited for this drama because of the novel and binge-watched it last weekend. I thought they did a good enough job adapting it by not making it too taboo like in the novel.
I'm giving it a 10, and I honestly believe this drama definitely deserves to be rated above 8.0.
He married someone else but in name only because he is going to die and didn't want her to mourn him. It's kind…
Btw, ML of Last Immortal is Ancient Love Poetry ML and FL's son. At least in the novels. The Last Immortal drama tried its best to disassociate from Ancient Love Poetry.
don't know how accurate the source is but i heard that FI has been done for half a year now and now only they've…
There shouldn't be any action in fire/arson investigation. I've recently binge-watched Chicago Fire tv series, which largely focuses on firefighting, but they started to lean a bit into fire investigation from season 7 onwards with one of the main leads. Fair to say, there's no action in it. Just investigation, and that in itself was actually pretty interesting Especially since I was getting tired of all firefighting, and fire investigation part just tells how the fire started, and who started it.
I’m on episode four and I’m curious, is the pacing in this a bit faster than other dramas in this genre? (I’ve…
First 16 episodes of this drama is basically prologue of the story before the real story starts. It's all about introducing characters, establishing the world, establishing the relationships of characters. And then all hell breaks loose.
She dumps him and he gives in. He has fallen which is good but so much that she is playing him.I donno her emotions…
Huh, they don't even get together by ep 10, where are you getting the "she dumps him and he gives in" vibes already?
In my opinion, they are both very strongly opinionated in their views, which often clash, and I loved that part. But if you just want a FL who is meek and obedient (you seem to forget that they are in a warring period, with both having to consider their own factions. If she is not calculating to keep her faction in the play, would you rather she forsake her faction for ML, whom she met like 2 weeks ago?), I guess this drama isn't for you.

I don't know if she is one of the best actors out there, but she did a decent job, imo.
They don't seem to have Xianxia as a genre.
Btw, can you also DM me more details on the script? Thank you!

I really hoped he would not do this drama, and while I am not really excited about it (and I probably won't be watching it), I hope it does well.
