Except for when I first started watching C-dramas—when I managed to finish Cambrian Period and When We Were Young, both starring Neo Hou—I’ve tried multiple times and failed to get through his other dramas.

I really wanted to watch Back From the Brink, A Girl Like You, and most recently Love in the Clouds, but I always end up dropping them after two or three episodes, for various reasons unrelated to Neo Hou himself.

I’m hoping I can stick with this one till the end. I also happen to like TSY a lot, so fingers crossed.

Yes, it is still better than them. But we’re used to each country’s broadcast schedule as its own.

I can wait a week for one episode of an American TV show. A week for two episodes of a K-drama. One day for two episodes of a C-drama. We’re—at least I am—basically conditioned to it.

And then a C-drama comes out and says, “Hey, look, we’re giving you three episodes per day”, and then your current favorite C-drama suddenly goes back to one episode a day, it feels like emotional whiplash—even though, rationally, it’s still not that bad. 😭

There's a drama next door releasing 3 episodes per day until it's finale, and here we are, back to 1 episode per day schedule from tomorrow (until the 31st). ffs

There's a new c-drama premiering today that's releasing 5 episodes today and 3 episodes per day until 7th Jan.

Why can't Shine On Me also release 3 episodes per day 😭

I hope her parents stay divorced and her mother move on.

Well, in conclusion, ZX and her roommates (pigtails girl not included) are grade A jerks.

Her confidence really took a hit, which was confirmed in her monologue in today's episodes.

I guess the only thing that bugs me now is, why didn't FL cut her losses early because she's kind of potentially facing a similar situation her mother faced: her crush having ambiguous relationship with his childhood sweetheart.

Adding more to it - ML is also currently in a one-sided crush, but he can be considered a good friend of hers as of now. They have real conversations, and they have an understanding of each other.
Meanwhile, FL barely knows SML. In fact, she knows absolutely nothing about him lol. All she knows is what is she is being fed by others (her roommates, her cousin).
And the guy made it seem like he doesn't want to have any association with her, and also belittles her.

Novel readers, please spoil me if ML's parents are still together? ML's mom says she's coming to China with some uncle, so I'm wondering if ML's parents are divorced or if his father had already passed away?

I can get behind this, and I'd appreciate it if the drama actually addressed it this way when she finally figures things out.

I’m really loving everything about the drama, but the one thing I can’t quite wrap my head around is why it’s being framed as if NXG can’t get over ZX—as though they’d just broken up after dating for a long time.

She only had a crush on someone she barely knew. At this point, she’s knows more about LYS in the few months she’s worked with him than she ever knew about ZX over all those years of acquaintance. There isn’t really anything to “get over". You can’t truly fall in love with someone you hardly know.

I think it would’ve made more sense if NXG and ZX had actually dated for a while and then broken up, with NXG still in the process of moving on when she met LYS. That way, during LYS’s pursuit, her emotional conflict would feel more grounded—she’d be trying to let go of a real past relationship, not a one-sided crush.

YR was lying, yes, but he chose to believe her. And it does not excuse his behavior.
