I have already made this point before, I will expand on it now...HT, at this point, didn't know JX needed assurance…
Well, the communication gap was there, for sure. But I think he did a good job of communicating his feelings for her. Also, they were barely dating for a month to fuss over how deep their feelings were.

Bad at communicating about the merger? Yes. He should have discussed with JX about it sooner. He would have had that discussion eventually, but that's not an excuse. Anyhow, I think he did a good job of communicating his feelings... and that's one of the reasons why a lot of people were put off by JX's actions.

I think both were wrong, but I didn't enjoy what happened during the reconciliation. Han Ting apologized for his wrongs, but none from Ji Xing. That's unhealthy way of getting back together.
One of the reasons I preferred novel over the drama was the reconciliation was handled beautifully in the novel. In the novel, neither apologized, the situation is also a bit different. Han Ting never used Forgiveness Card until the moment he was dying.

It was a simple question, yes. But he had already answered her by confessing his feelings for her. He was the who pursued her. It is understandable if he is feeling unsure of what she means by asking if he loves her when all he did was bathe her in love up until then.

I still can't get over the fact that Ji xing asked Han Ting if he loved her ( before their break up) and he had…
I have already made this point before, I will expand on it now...

HT, at this point, didn't know JX needed assurance of his love. You are looking from JX's perspective, and it is fair to feel angry on her behalf. I looked at it from HT's perspective, and he was right to talk about his views on love early in the relationship. He didn't know about what JX was going through when she popped this question.

You say, 'Why even ask "How do you define love?" question?'
I say, they have barely dated for a month (someone did a timeline, and yeah, they barely dated for a month and were already talking about love), and they have already confessed their love to each other (buying star in HT's name, JX says I love you, HT says he also loves her). Since they have already confessed their love for each other, and now JX is again asking HT if he loves her, I'm not surprised he wants to know how she defines love. And after listening to her definition of love (which was absurd, and even JX agreed that it was absurd later), he laid out his definition of love. I see no problem with that, unless you only consider JX's perspective and do not care about HT's.

I actually saw a comparison of XK and Leonardo DiCaprio, During Titanic days, I thought wow they really do look…
Ah, so that's why I was instantly attracted to Xu Kai 😁. I always felt Xu Kai looked a bit familiar, and very easy to look at, especially in Arsenal Military Academy. Now with Leonardo DiCaprio comparison, I get it. Titanic Leonardo DiCaprio and Arsenal Military Academy Xu Kai do share some similarities in looks, with those bangs!!

Huh? Who's son are you talking about?
It was not mentioned in the drama.

In the novel, after Han Chen, they had twins, both sons again. Han Jin and Han Yu.

Edit: I meant period drama with xk and 7 Oh, for real that cast is actually filming a modern? I would love for…
I read an article back then about the fan war between XK and BL fans, and about how they are against XK and BL collaborating again in Royal Feast. In the article it was also mentioned that YZ, despite the backlash, will stick with XK and BL. He even made a statement on weibo about it, I think. What happened after that, I'm not sure.

I just checked, and it was not rumours that BL was supposed to pair with XK in Royal Feast. YZ confirmed BL was going be the FL. This broke a huge fan war, and YZ was still not relenting and wanted to cast BL. Don't know what happened after that, but on the booting ceremony BL was replaced by WJY, which shocked everyone.

YZ is the worst. They say he only favours the actresses but does not appreciate the actors getting out of his hand. But then I think of WJY and wonder how true is that. He does let BL choose her own scripts, but that's just her (I'm starting to think BL's got some black material on him lol, good for her, either way).

XK is only getting to choose his own scripts recently, which is good. I hope YZ does not treat WXY the way he treated other male artists under him. I think after XK, WXY is soon becoming my fav actor in c-dramaland, so I'm hoping for the best.

XK? Not yet, SWL tried, but failed, from what I gather.

I'm hoping they leave that company as soon as possible.

BL and XK was the first CP pairing I enjoyed in c-dramaland. A pity though, all the drama surrounding had already happened by then.. but there were rumours that Yu Zheng wanted BL as FL in Royal Feast.. he also almost confirmed it.. but changed it to WJY at the last minute. That's when I knew XK and BL would not collaborate again in the near future. It's been 4 years since then, and they basically avoided each other.. like they don't even attend the same events or award shows.

Was it a S or a S+ production?
But they (Tencent) announced it as an S+ production last year, which was way before the broadcast date.

I honestly have no idea about this. Someone said that it represents the investors confidence in the drama's marketability.

Was it a S or a S+ production?
During last year's Tencent conference, it was announced ABAY was S+, it was also the same time they announced WOL was upgraded to S+ from S. Xu Kai had just finished filming for ABAY and started filming for BCE when this conference happened. They also released the first trailer for ABAY during this conference.
ABAY started production with Tencent as their broadcast partner from day 1 of their shooting.

ABAY was an S+ production from the beginning. WOL started out as an S production though, and the producers liked the end result so they upped it to S+ for better post-production.

have you seen wonderland of love?
Yeah, they did. The kiss scenes in the BTS were very intense in WOL, unfortunately, they were cut short or edited badly.

I think the extra episode was filmed when the crew realized that the ratings would be very low. And the ending…
Extra episode was adapted directly from the novel, they don't need to create something out of thin air for ratings.
Besides, the ratings for this drama in China are literally on top. So, they aren't that desperate for the ratings as you think they are.

You haven’t watched the double, have you ? 😊
I watched The Double, and I rate ABAY above The Double any day because of the ending The Double gave us. Up until then, I would agree The Double was the best drama of this year, sadly the ending ruined the whole drama for me... no, I am not counting the last-minute-shot extra episode, which was filmed literally 1 week before the last episode aired to not face the ire of fans.

I also wouldn't call ABAY the best drama of the year. But it definitely had the best ending ever this year.

I'm in the same limbo. I was actually planning to watch The Princess Royal next, but the comments on the drama…
Yeah, we can agree to disagree.

Just wanted to say that WXY can be intimidating while exuding charm (The Double). ZLH was just intimidating, and his dubbing did not help either (still no idea if it was his own voice, I know WXY dubbed his own voice). At times, ZLH looked like Gu Jun (Leon Lai) from ALP.
