This was such a snoozefest ngl. I have no strong feelings about this drama and that's the problem. Nothing really stands out and the plot is as basic as it can get: a gumiho, her love interest, a hunter, an evil business man and the story moves back and forth between them. The characters are also very two dimensional so far.

it was spilled that the two guys already have became a final couple but it's really crazy that they both went…
yeah lol, makes sense.

i'm seeing a lot more positive comments after the initial criticism. love to see people appreciating a genuinely good drama.

Reading the comments, I think I might be the only one here, who actually prefers this over Love Between Lines,…
not the only one. The plot was more of a standout in that drama, rather than romance. The chemistry was bland and tiring.

the mind games they are playing while respecting and understanding each other? top tier! the ml is such a green flag too. i LOVE it so far, especially the banter. it isn't childish or overdone but feels more mature and genuinely humorous, which i'm enjoying so far.

How about Unlock My Boss? I thought he was great in that!
Haven't heard of this. I'll give it a go!

"the same old isekai trope” and it's actually much rarer compared to the endless xianxia dramas recycling the exact cliches(yes, biased). Don’t get me wrong, sometimes people make such contradictory statements that you can’t help but laugh.

Personally, I find this far more entertaining than many of the cdramas i've recently come across and felt bored out of my wits. i'm not claiming it's a uniquely original drama with amazing plotline, but it IS better executed one fs. the leads feel relatively fresh to me since I haven’t seen them in many dramas before, except for the ml, whom I watched in "Love between lines". I wasn’t particularly into, tho i'll admit it's objectively a great drama.

I’m more drawn to stories with interesting dynamics, and that’s something this drama is doing well so far. The banter especially stands out. It isn’t shoved in your face but remains more...understated? which I personally think speaks to better media literacy, but i digress. in short, i really enjoy the dynamic they’re building here.

My earlier comment about isekai also wasn’t random. I genuinely love the genre. While I agree it’s overused, I see it more as a genre than a trope, and genres are simply categories you either enjoy or you don't. I happen to enjoy this one, provided it’s done well. The issue with most isekai is that they’re rushed and rarely compelling. Here the story is comparatively simple but the romance and chemistry completely take the cake for me, even tho the roamnce is rather slow... i like that.
Another standout for me is the relationship between the fl and her best friend. It really respects the autonomy of both individuals. The friend never steals the spotlight from the fl, yet she still comes across as fully realized bcz even if it isn’t HER story per se, she’s clearly her own person.I love how the direction of her arc is completely different from the fl’s, and some of her dialogues are very telling of her personality(the one about how she thinks there's a world outside of theirs). It adds a different layer to the narrative of the story without forcing attention, and really helps break the monotony of the story.

I think part of the reason I like this drama is that I’m naturally more drawn to modern settings than historical ones. That said, one thing I found relatively lacklustre was the styling and overall atmosphere. While I agree that the 90s weren’t really different from the modern era, they DID have a distinct visual identity, and idt that was shown very well here. A more nostalgic color palette or stronger styling choices could have made a much bigger impact and helped the setting feel more intentional. visually, i'm not really impressed given the n number of dramas that do that effortlessly. pitifully, a lazy production there.

Regardless, the comedy was tahnkfully more lowkey and really managed to capture the tone of the story. It isn’t overdone, the timing feels right, and the execution seems more authentic than i expected. Overall, this has been a really enjoyable start to the drama for me, one that completely fits my palate lol.

you tried love all play?
Watched first few episodes. Had a very forgettable presence but i wasn't impressed by the plot either so not really his fault.

Pulling off this kind of role isn't easy so...

Uhh... I'm skeptical about the ml tho. Never really liked his dramas except castaway diva, which I liked because of eun bin. But we'll see. The synopsis seems interesting.

On Single’s Inferno Season 5 Jan 20, 2026
Honestly, Mina sue came off as a bad sport the moment she started questioning seung il about why he voted for that girl. It felt intrusive. he didn’t owe her an explanation in the first place. The way she kept making faces and then snarkily dragging it out with comments like “Oh, let me see how easygoing she is, like you said” was so unnecessary. Like… girl, relax. He was respectfully complimenting another woman; it really didn’t need to be turned into a whole thing. And then Su been happens. Not surprised, honestly.she seemed authentic and genuine at first, ngl, but alas, what a total buzzkill.

Don't tell me the preview pictures is the filter the drama plans to use.
i don't think they are bad. Anyway, it will look cohesive when it airs.

Out of everything that happened in episodes 1 & 2, focusing on her behavior at the party is giving that moment…
That was essentially the only thing I talked about and conveniently for the writers it was enough to serve as a lazy first encounter. Beyond that the rain scene felt excessively overdone to me(just a preference).Nevertheless, I get where you’re coming from and i respect that. In my defense, though, it was the use of outdated tropes that really threw me off. Needless to say, this drama just isn’t for me, and objectively, it’s a rather mediocre start for a show that’s trying to sell itself.

There’s a difference between being nostalgic and being OLD. Unfortunately, this drama falls squarely into the latter. We’re simply no longer in an era where these kinds of fl antics are considered “quirky” let alone believable. The show feels old-fashioned in the worst possible way. And i blame the writing and direction, precisely.
It could have revived classic kdrama charm, but instead it clings to the same tired cliches that are no longer convincing or swoon worthy. im sorry but I don’t buy the fl harassing a random guy in the middle of a full blown party just to hide from her boss or whoever that woman was. Having her pretend she’s known the ml forever in the name of being “quirky” is exactly the kind of trope that has aged badly and rightfully so.
All in all, a very mid drama or ep 1 if you must.

This was honestly such a pleasant surprise. The plot is so well written that it genuinely complements and enhances the cast dynamics. I especially loved how they handled the relationship between the sml and the fl, which is arguably one of the most intriguing dynamics in the story.
The fact that they took a full four episodes to properly develop the main plot is first of all incredibly brave and admirable. That kind of patience really pays off here. One of the best currently airing dramas ngl. criminally underrated. It had me hooked from the very first ep.

On Can This Love Be Translated? Jan 18, 2026
I have many qualms about this show. Firstly what exactly are they going for here? You can blend multiple genres in a single drama but only when the execution is nicely done and EACH genre is allowed to shine. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen here. By trying to be everything it ends up being nothing. After a certain point, the constant tonal whiplash became exhausting.
You can portray mental illness or the psychological complexity of a flawed character in a far more palatable way. here cha mu hee swings back and forth betwen happy and sad so frequently that it makes me ques how deep her insecurity really is. If you’re aiming for angst commit to it fully don’t dip in and out. istg i was genuinely exhausted by cha mu hee’s lack of self awareness.
What makes this more frustrating is that i actually loved cha mu hee as a character. She was clearly written to be lovable and in the first half she truly was. her lack of respect for boundaries initially came across as cute, but as the story progressed it started to make me wince in secondhand embarrassment. The way her character was handled took a noticeable dip in the latter half undermining much of what initially worked so well.
That said this drama excels in production, acting and character depth. The chemistry is phenomenal and the leads deserve full credit for that bcz what is that swoonworthy energy every time they look at each other? Absolutely adorable. The writing however really put me off. Otherwise this could have been my fav drama of the year.
Furthermore i don’t understand why they never even considered imposter syndrome as a possible reason for do ra mi’s arrival. That felt so… ignorant? Or at the very least like a missed opportunity for a much deeper and more meaningful connection. I dropped the drama halfway through so i can’t say whether this ever gets addressed later but up until that point it was frustratingly absent.
Comparatively the ml was just… there. What was he really adding to the plot beyond being the love interest? I liked his personality initially but that faded quickly when his role seemed to boil down to smiling fondly at the fl’s antics and… and… well, that’s kind of it. I genuinely don’t have anything else to add.

Episode 2 was definitely much better, but I don’t really get the storyline yet. What trajectory are they headed toward, or is this simply a collection of loosely connected scenes, like a sitcom?
That said, I dislike the comedy scenes so far bcz the timing and execution feel off in an otherwise nicely written script.
I hope they keep the dynamic intact and don’t mess with it too much in the name of “growth.” Anyway, I’m really enjoying the chemistry, and I think that’s the only thing I’m genuinely looking forward to.
