I’m sorry but…. When she confessed and he politely turned her down…It was just so wrong. Who says all that…
I've gotten the skin crawling ick for the FL, from the elevator scene in the first 15 mins of ep1. Please tell me it is worth continuing. And she changes!?! Honestly I need few excuses to watch Miles Wei, but creepy, stalker, sexual predator stuff is a massive NOPE for me
RANT to follow... It is disturbing that there is an expectation and actors are cheered on, for being more realistic and showing "committment to the role" and loving their job, etc., for situations where it regards body weight. This is seriously dangerous, life threatening weigh-loss. The last one I remember reading about was Ahn Bo Hyun in his prep for "See you In My 19th Life." And there was backlash because he didn't resemble the webtoon character closely enough. Weight loss for roles (and often weight gain - It just won someone an Oscar) is IMO meaningless and overblown.
Imagine if all roles required such committment?! Park Min Young could've just undergone chemo and radiation! That would've helped her lose weight. Should Choi Hyun Wook have been hit over the head until it induced hearing loss, for his role in Twinkling Watermelon? And would Park Eun Bin be so much a star now? She definitely is not autistic but we accepted her portrayal of an autist in Extraordinary Attorney Woo!
Dramas are fictional. Audiences have brains. We don't need to have these dangerous body standards to understand the character and engage with an actor's portrayal. And we need to STOP lauding actors for engaging in this kind of 'preparation'.
Is this secretly a boomer propaganda drama about the plague of mobile phones and "... no-one can just have a conversation…
I can generally switch off to dramaland tricks like the phone interruptions. I like the slowly building tension and yearning. But weirdly, I just hit my limit in ep 20, when she was saved from explaining to her workmate, why she's wearing make-up. NOPE!
Is this secretly a boomer propaganda drama about the plague of mobile phones and "... no-one can just have a conversation anymore without being interrupted..."?
Ok Hold Up!! Did I miss an episode or story part? I am in the middle of episode 19. When the heck did she learn…
Zheng Shu Yi, still thinks her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend, is Shi Yan's niece. Quin Shi Yue, knows that Shu Yi is dating the uncle of her ex-boyfriend's niece...I.e. Shi Yue knows it's AN uncle, not HER OWN uncle. They are both still, stupidly oblivious.
This is the one bit of the plot I've just had to make myself accept despite how stupid it seems...the only way I can accept it is by thinking, "They're all too self-absorbed to put it together". And now Shi Yue doesn't even ask, before they get to the blind date... "Your blind date wouldn't be with Yu You, the young, handsome finance professor that I know, would it?!"...It is ridiculous to me. Wouldn't you check, just in case? Especially if he is on your mind all the time as the plot suggests! But. Well. Dramaland.
At last, we got that kiss, but I wasn't surprised the phone rang...As far as GJ and BRS, they both have issues…
I have a totally different view of GJ and BRS, even though the outcome is the same. I think they both are very lonely - they state this as something that they recognise in each other, in an early ep. I keep waiting for more of their story to be revealed. Why was she COMPLETELY alone on NYE, with no family, for example.
And yes, neither of them is willing to make the first move, but IMO, out of a fear of rejection or abandonment. I'm enjoying that small amount of complexity and mystery between them.
I want to see a drama about Hao Wangshu and Cheng Xing from Ep 19! Uni friends go into business together, love blossoms... no-one's ever seen that before ;D
I would honestly say this is normal violence for an action show. The murders weren't shown as grafically as they…
It doesn't need to be graphic, to be violent btw. For example, the sneering threat of a killer towards his victim's young child, is by any measure, very violent.
Just here to say if you're sensitive to violence, be warned. This is VERY violent.
The rating info here on MDL is doing a much better job than Disney. Disney has really kinda dropped the ball with rating in my region. MA15+ with warnings of flashing lights and patterns for photosensitive viewers...no violence warnings AT ALL.
I've had to pause and take a break multiple times in ep 1. The show is definitely good, but I'm not sure I'm going to manage viewing all of it.
I think concubines are only for the king and crown prince. The minister's other women are called mistresses.
Thanks, yes, I did see all of that. I still think 'concubine' is a more accurate translation than 'mistress'. Besides, Ha Na is from a noble family and the same translation is used for her. Mistress isn't really a term that was used then (unless you're translating it into the traditional usage of 'mistress', as an honorific. Hence my point about it being a modern translation and not really accurate. The modern idea of 'mistress' is not at all the same as 'concubine'. I was really looking for confirmation that I was hearing correctly and that the character said "Cheob". (Not jeongbu) Sorry I know this is pedantic but I seem to be on a subs rant today *sigh*

This man is just so good.
