I am probably in the minority here, but I actually love Xu Ziquan’s flirty personality. It’s so rare to see…
I think many of us are right there with you. Banter, cheekiness, teasing; and always from an expectation that she can match him, whatever he dishes out. So refreshing!
Unfortunately, I think the rarity is in them being characterised as equals.

I loved his character as well! We seldom see characters like his. I can't even remember seeing one like him lately.…
What?! Really?
This is the 2nd time today I've heard of a Kdrama Cdrama comparison that is just ridiculous (the other being Meet Yourself and Hometown Ccc...) Again I'm baffled: What perspective are people carrying, to view things in this way?!

wow, intro of episode 12 is giving us lots of ideas:- work out - lose weight - find me a hot bf or hot gf- buy…
Also
- be "extremely good looking" yourself.
Still, I'm enjoying it

It's frustrating that the Korean Broadcasting Association has even given this air. It's a completely baseless claim, but addressing the comments so publicly, emboldens commenters to believe they had some justification. The way they met relating to a pair of slippers?!? ...a similar logo!? I completely disagree, and see no similarity whatsoever.
Can someone's own personal perspective really distort their viewing this much, or is it flat-out just made up, to be antagonistic towards a highly successful Chinese show?

Could you please recommend dramas with "deep and golden conversations about life", because I love those too. I…
Commenting here, in the hope that I catch those recommendations too 🤗

Title Imitation
I think this is an under-rated gem. I watched this when it aired, and find myself regularly rewatching, now for the 3rd time. It's heartfelt and sincere, and the romances are sweet. It also shines a light on the inherent problems with the kpop industry, if you care to pay attention. I wonder if going into this as NOT a KPop fan, is an advantage. I can watch it with no biases and just enjoy the show.

I totally agree. But it's a time honoured tradition (hear my sarcasm) that netizens have sway over scripts in…
In interviews, midway through airing, the screenwriter for EAW, talked about making script changes to suit knetz and international comments. I'm really sorry I can't give you references but if you want to fall down the rabbit hole and do some googly research, you can
find lots of stuff about past dramas and fan influences on airing dramas.
It's typical for dramas to begin airing before they've completed writing, filming and editing. So there's HEAPS of opportunity for things to be changed or cancelled, based on how it's received by the public.

Initially i used feel bad for Eom Ho, i could feel his frustration on not finding his sister's body nor her murderer...but…
I find myself a bit unsympathetic to the brother too BUT...
I 'm sure that a brother would berate themselves for not defending their sibling against their abusive parent. That's part of the trauma you carry. Remember he is a victim of it too. I think his guilt and remorse are what drives his sociopathic behaviour

Every character depicted here exudes a striking realism. While the Xu Jiabai character may be toxic, it undeniably…
I agree it is attempting to do that, and that's why I'm enjoying. But my point is; I think they dropped the baton with the explication of Xin Xi and Ju Bai. Sure his controlling tendencies are toxic but the fact they're conflated with a so-called "simp" character, is frustrating for me.
Sure you can frame it as a service to drama watchers, so they can recognise these characters IRL BUT I am saying, We have seen this to death, in drama and IRL. I want to see some progress in humanity 😁 I'm hoping it will be resolved in later episodes.

Really enjoying this except...the second couple. Li Xin Xi and Xu Jua Bai irk me. She is a strong personality and clearly clever, but she wanys to be pampered and kept IMO like a child. And because he meets her needs, he's a simp.
Oh and in this drama, there is SO MUCH foreshadowing that Jua Bai's traits are questionable and it's going to lead to a massive downfall for Xin Xi.
"Simp" as a term, raises my hackles. It's right out of the toxic masculinity lexicon - if you use it, check your biases!! A man is not manly enough if he is gentle, respectful and gives you what you want?!?
PLEASE can we move on from this crap! A TRULY ground breaking script would celebrate that.
