The issue with Esther for me is the character is too standard xianxia heroine. This is nothing new while DanYin is not your typical mean/envious supporting female character one see in every costume show. She was a bully but cause she got principles and layers she has grown.
She had the quickest and most coherent growth in the show. She stopped bullying cutie-powerless xianxia heroine after seeing how the latter helped them and became friendly with her. And with her uptight pretty fairy personality I already see some interesting interactions with XinFeng and even DFQC.
Yes DanYin. I keep saying one of the bad ideas of the PD was making her role minor and JieLi more important. I even think she is written in a more interesting way than the typical 5-year-old-ingenue-fairy-with-greater-background xianxia heroine. And I can assure you DanYin and FL in the moon realm together trying to adapt to the new environment would have made the storyline even more dynamic
