I have watched some Song dynasty set dramas in the past but this drama here is the one that made me care about it really and search more about it lately. Usually I am more fascinated by Tang flamboyant dynasty or Ming colourful and definite end-of-an-era tragic ending (Ming is the last Han-led dynasty and its collapse saw the disappearance of Hanfu and other confucianist traditions). Now I learn about all those Song dynasty's inventions and richness and famous people etc... As an African person originally I can't help but being jealous of Chinese people for example, for knowing and embrassing their past through their pop culture while cherishing their ancestors and their legacy til date and share it with us foreigners. In the meanwhile my people is living in constant amnesia and ignorance of this essential part of a civilisation. As a result so far we are just roaming around and dominated.

In that version ZPE is still in the brothel or performance hpuse so her flirty and fiery behaviour is understable while in the drama she try and establish a tea house and is no more in the brothel. Therefore her behaviour will be different

I am telling you if Xiao Yao were the FL, it would have elevated people interest in the drama. She and WX dynamism would have burnt the screen as the main pairing. The way A dream of Splendor got a 8.7 at Douban says a lot about the type of FLs people are craving for at the moment. And for sure it is not the pouty Wen Rou-like.
