No matter if I like her or not she tends to ruin great characters with her one dimensional and I-need-to-pout acting. Her character was great in the imperial coroner but her acting was short (horrible wide eyed acting)

Yeah you can try. I like the moral behind the drama. The heroine family even during their aristocratic times always treated everyone as equal and fairly. They were making clothes for everyone not only rich people and they don't rely on money nor statu to treat people. For example even today which is supposed to be driven by "equality values" people still can call a bad/uneducated person a "role model" because of the amount of money he/she makes or how "huge" he/she is.

One wide eyed expression + pouting =/= good acting. Sorry And I say what I say Su acting needs some improvement. Even during her carefree/cute/innocent moment Li Jia Qi acting never once made me FF. On the contrary Su did.

It is not bad for me since I root for the heroine. I have seen worse. The challenges Nichang goes through happen in real life (arrogant people tripping on everyone they deem less than themselves). I like how she grows with her art, she learns, she is observant and ressorceful. I wished baddies were not as one dimensional. But personally I am not disatisfied with the show and the FL did not make me want to drop it unlike with another better produced drama *coughTheImperialDoctorcough*

Contrary to what many people have given this drama a good rating, for me the ML & FL is a let down.
Su XiaonTong needs to work on her subtlety and flexibility as an actress. In the other dramas she is casted in she gets the same problem. She sports one expression from beginning to end.
