It's not like gesun is not trending at all, today Dilraba and Wu Lei were trending, and sometimes gesun supertopic goes up to 4-5th place. Maybe their fans are just less coordinated, or are more focused on discussing Dilreba and Wu Lei separately, so they dominate by quantity, but lack the interaction power.
I also think gesun fans for most of the time felt quite secure about their cp, because they were main leads, clearly fond of each other, having a lot of screen time, bts and so on. But lately fans are a bit worried about finale, so I guess next Monday it's gonna be madness for both cp :)

Gesun is very popular, and has more fans, but they are less active as shippers, at least on weibo. Also, gesun fans interract both in main LB supertopic and in CP supertopic, while haoyan fans moved nearly completely to their own supertopic.
