I used to be the same but nowadays I watch more C-drama's than Korean in both categories Modern C drama's are…
I agree about Go Go Squid. I like the drama overall, but the flashbacks were so tedious and annoyingly long and a lot of times unnecessary. That is my problem with a lot of modern CDramas (KDramas do this sometimes, not a lot) is the flashbacks. I am binge watcher most of the time, so when I see flashbacks from a previous episode or even things from the same episode I just watched I get so aggravated and a lot of the times FF. I think a lot of modern CDramas could be cut down to 12, 16 or even 24 episodes like K Dramas if it wasn't for so much unnecessary dialogue, Flashbacks, story, etc.
love your lists some of my favourites too. Eternal Love was my first C drama so would always be on my list along…
My picks would be rewatchable dramas as well. Story of Ming Lan, I have watched so many times, I could almost quote it all, as well as Cinderella and the Four Knights. These two I don't know are probably my all time favorite, there are a few more that I rewatched a lot as well. My first Asian drama was the Japanese drama Hana Yori Dango and then from there my "obsession" started lol. I mostly stick with K and C Dramas now with a couple of Taiwanese dramas thrown in every now and then.
Love this article, I like seeing the breakdown of it all. I absolutely love Love Like the Galaxy. I just finished watching it for the second time and it is so amazing, the acting is superb. I am actually surprised that there weren't a lot more older dramas (K and C) on the list. There are so many good ones it is so hard to pick favorites. I do have to agree C Dramas far excel K Dramas when it comes to costume dramas and when it comes to modern dramas K Dramas are so much better, that is mostly my opinion. I love watching modern K Dramas and ancient/costume C Dramas.
Some of my favorites, that I am surprised weren't up in the list: KDramas Healer Coffee Prince Descendants of the Sun Goblin Business Proposal The Heirs My Father is Strange
CDramas TMofPB (eternal love) The Sword and the Brocade The Legends Falling into Your Smile Legend of Fu Yao Princess Agents Story of Ming Lan Rise of the Phoenixes
Quite a few of my above mentions are older dramas, so it is probably why they weren't included, it seems the popular ones tend to be on the more recently premiered although there were a few older ones on your list. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I am usually for romcoms or happy endings, but I do like an occasional kick ass style drama, Vincenzo being one of my favs. It definitely is hard to pick which would be the Best of the Best because there are so many good dramas out there.
EDIT: I wrote this before I read all the comments. I see the comment about the rest of the dramas that made the list, so some of my above did actually make it on the list, just really far down and very low vote count.
That coffee-sweet company must have paid for the whole drama. Apart from the egregiously obvious (and relentless)…
Yes, they were really obvious with the product placement, especially in the last episode. I didn't know if I was watching several commercials or a drama for awhile there.
Before this drama aired everyone were interested in this drama only because of PMY and KJY. As a GKP appreciator…
Yes I am a huge PMY fan and she is what drew me to this drama, I honestly had never heard of the rest of the cast. Now I am really interested in GKP. He did really well in this and I am excited to watch his other dramas.
So I liked the whole drama and I watched without FFing in any episodes or scenes. Yes there were boring moments and aggravating moments. I was expecting more based on the synopsis I was given. There were basically two stories going on in this drama (Hae Jin's life and back story; and Sang Eun's job and relationships), everything else was just extra.
I don't think this was PMY's best work by a long shot, but I will probably rewatch it at some point. I am a happy ending type of person, so this was a good one for me.
I wonder if I would rate and review this differently if I binge watched vs watching as each episode aired. I usually feel differently about things when I binge, because I see it all at once and it seems to make sense vs putting it all together each week.
I think the biggest overall negative I have about this drama is the 180 they did with almost every character in it. It's like a short span of time, every character changed their persona and became different to fast imo, but oh well, it is drama and fiction. The acting was really great, the story had a good basis, but I felt it got off track to many times. Overall, it was good.
but BIG kudos to the watchers who caught on to the hints of sexual assault earlier in the drama you guys never…
I do want to add, I have to agree about the break up. I thought part was dumb, there was no reason for them to have them "break up". I mean I saw it coming, there were so many hints, but at the same time there was absolutely no reason for them to write that in there. But this is a KDrama, they have to do that don't they, it is their trope, can't have a KDrama without a break up before getting back together at the end.
but BIG kudos to the watchers who caught on to the hints of sexual assault earlier in the drama you guys never…
I actually liked this episode, I thought the emotions and the reveals and story was actually pretty good and I agree about your above comment. That is the second time people predicted things that I myself thought could be a possibility but never imagined the writers would actually do it that way and I would never have assumed it would be done.
Can anyone suggest a place to watch ep 15 with proper eng subs?!?? pleeease
if you have a Viki subscription you can watch it there. I am not sure where else, as I only watch dramas on subscription sites. You could try kissasian or dramacool. I am not real familiar with those sites though, just have seen them mentioned.
Is it really a kdrama if they don't give us a nonsense last minute apparent breakup? I'm begging kdrama writers…
I was so hoping that wouldn't happen, but I had a feeling when she took all the tags off his clothes. I knew she was up to something. I honestly thought she would have left the country with Gwang Nam, until I saw the previews.
I was crying with Ji Ho, so emotional, until I saw the previews. Such emotion Go Kyung Pyo brings to the Ji Ho character. I absolutely love his character. This episode was really good. I liked it a lot. I do still wonder though, who is her father, they haven't really come out and officially said it, but there is a lot of insinuation. Also, with the things that happened with Hae Jin's brother, wondering if Yoo Min Ho actually needs to turn herself in, unless she still wants to take down Eena Group.
ML is more cool now. He and FL look very cute together. SML has a lot to do on his plate because he can be happy.…
I agree, if they make him end up with the ex wife, imo it would be ridiculous. Not to say, way way down the line they couldn't be together, but to put them in a relationship right now would be forcing a relationship for a everyone is happy ending, when he still clearly has misguided feelings for Sang Eun.
Here's a pretty good Eng Sub version of the Ep. 15 preview w/out 3rd party commentary.https://twitter.com/PMYIFANSUNITED/status/1588193378059288576Question…
I don't know, it seems pretty much up in the air, there was no real definitive answer. Ji Ho said to Madam Yoo, " I know the person you were with at the time is Sang Eun's biological father" That is pretty much it. They did talk about the Eena group head right before saying that so it almost implies that he is, but ..... I still feel we might be missing something.
I freakin' loved so much about ep 14 that it's going to take me a bit to compose my thoughts but I wanted to shout…
I loved that scene, almost every scene he is in, he steals it. The writers really outdid themselves when making his scenes, cause I absolutely love them all.
