I finally started this, and in the middle of episode 2 and I am just not getting into it. There are parts that I like. I just don't like Li Qin's character, please tell me she gets better. I get put off by girls who are leaders of "gangs" and bully etc. It just not really my thing. Overall, the costumes and acting and everything else is really good. I just can't get past her character and I want to like this.
This is the first K Drama I have watched as the episodes air. I usually wait until a drama finishes and binges, because the wait between each episode seems so long. I am actually really liking this drama, but there really hasn't been a PMK drama I haven't liked (except maybe Forecasting). I am glad the ML is finally opening up and we now know what his occupation is. I am actually surprised it has taken 13 yrs of her doing this for guys to start stalking her, etc. (unless they did before and we just don't know about it). The 2nd ML is giving me the creeps. I am wondering if the person that assaulted her was his manager or someone related to him, but at the same time, he has a whole bunch of pictures of her and asked his uncle about doing him a "favor". Her interaction with her roommate is my some of my favorite parts of this drama as well. I hope it continues to be as good as it has been.
This is one of my favorite esports drama. I am on my 3rd rewatch of it. The story is great and cute. The biggest negative I have of the whole drama is the last few episodes when the stupid Miya character comes back into the story. She should have stayed gone. It just created friction where there needed to be none and I didn't understand the reason why they brought her back, because by this time her character had become irrelevant to the story. So aggravating.
As far as other esports dramas, FIYS was good, mainly cause of the chemistry between Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao. The esports part was pretty good as well. It was cool to see the CGI aspect of the game. Love 020, I don't really consider this esports, it is just people playing an MMO, nothing big or competitive. I really disliked the female lead and the only reason I kept watching was because of Yang Yang. It doesn't really satnd the test of time either, the cinematography was really bad in some scenes at least when the gaming parts were going on. The King's Avatar, loved this one, it had a few of my favorite cast, Yang Yang, Leon Lai, etc. The story was really good. The esports part was good. It didnt have any romance and I was ok with that. When they showed the game scenes it was pretty neat. Finally, GGS, I am not a huge fan of Yang Zi. She is a great actress, I just don't like her as much as others. But I absolutely loved her in this. It was so perfect. This drama actually got me to become a big fan of Li Xian and Hu Yi Tian. I could do without so much of the flash back scenes ( there were a lot), but loved everything else. It was definitely one of my favs and have rewatched it a couple of times.
That's my 2 cents for GYH, as well a few critiques on a few other esports dramas.
1)is there love triangle? if there how much deep it is ?2)when do leads will be together3)is there any breakup?…
There is basically 3 main couples in this drama.
1. The first main couple have been friends for 12 years. They do not become an actual couple until about the 2nd to last episode in the series, but we see the Male Lead has feeling for his friend throughout the whole series. She is crushing on another boy for the first time in her life and that boy pretty much leads her on through the entire series until she finds out he has had a girlfriend for awhile now. That is when the Male Lead (her best friend) tells her his feelings and she doesn't want to acknowledge her own feelings for her friend. She finally does when he ends up going out with another girl. There aren't any real huge in depth love triangles between this couple, other than her liking that other guy, but it isn't any backstabbing or manipulation.
2. Ok 2nd main lead couple. They are already a couple when the series starts. Then as it progresses her friend from high school (they are all in uni btw) starts coming between them. The friend is very manipulative and makes the 2nd female lead question her relationship with the 2nd male lead. This leads to them breaking up about halfway through the series. The friend from high school does everything she can to ruin the 2nd female lead and trying to steal her boyfriend. The 2nd main couple finally reconcile in the last episode and "start over", becoming a couple.
3. The 3rd main couple, sort of my favorite. They aren't really that prominent. There are no love triangles or antagonist with this couple. The female of this couple has diabetes type 1 and the 3rd male lead learns everything he can about it, to help her. Their relationship just happens it is so cute and they are really sweet together. They don't actually get together until about the last 3 or 4 episodes but they hang out and do a lot together up til then.
That's about it. It was a cutesy type of drama and the acting was good imo. Great cast, etc.
I agree I love all PMY's dramas. I am kind of addicted to watching her for some reason. She is so good. I agree…
I was hesitant about Holo love at first too, but gave it a shot and so glad I did. I was surprised at how much i liked it. The last few episodes get frustrating but it ends well.
People complain about Min young being type cast in similar roles but go to their same boring jobs everyday. Judging…
I am loving the ML in this. It is my first time watching him as well. As for the SML I am not impressed yet. I don't know if it is his character or him the actor, I just don't get that feeling of him ever being with the FL.
FINALLY!! I was looking for a refreshing drama like this since WYW and AOS ended. I had some expectations with…
I agree I love all PMY's dramas. I am kind of addicted to watching her for some reason. She is so good. I agree about Forecasting Love, I was so disappointed in that. I wanted to really like it, but it just didn't give me that emotion that I get when watching her dramas and I didn't get the chemistry with her ML, I usually get. The dramas I would recommend you have probably already seen them. Cinderella and her four knights is one of my favorites, I have watched it several times. Some others: I'm not a Robot, Because this is My First Life, Imitation, My Holo Love, My Secret Romance, So I married an Anti-Fan, Start-Up, While You were Sleeping, and Business Proposal (which you probably have seen). There are several K Dramas airing right now that I want to watch, but I am waiting til they finish.
I am mostly a binger, especially with K Dramas. Most C Dramas are done within a month or less, cause they air so many episodes in a week, where as K Dramas can be several months. I have to admit I actually started my first K Drama today that I am not binging and I will see how it turns out, I may end up waiting til the episodes finish to watch it. If I do watch a drama while it is airing, it is mostly because I am really looking forward to it and I really am excited about the actors in it. I do hate missing out on the discussions as the dramas are airing, but at the same time, I am not really a patient person to want to wait til the next week for the dramas to air again, especially if the episode ends on a cliffhanger. I have a lot of dramas in my to watch list that it really fills up the time of waiting for the new dramas to finish anyway or I just rewatch some of my favorite while waiting. So after my rambling, I would say yes I am mostly a binger and I love it.
Just finished the first two episodes and I don't usually watch dramas as they air (especially K dramas, cause they take longer to air than C Dramas), I like to binge all the episodes at once, but I have been waiting for this one, so I started watching it. I really am enjoying it. There is already so much "mystery/suspense" in this "romcom" that I am not even sure "romcom" is the fitting label at this point. I am rooting for her with the ML, even though his job is suspicious right now. He has some issues of his own it seems as well.
i feel like park min young has lost her charm, it's like she is repeating the roles over and over again. with…
I can see that. She does romantic comedy dramas so well though. I do want to see her in more action roles though. I loved her in Healer, although that was a long time ago, as well as City Hunter. I wish I could see more diversity with her, I think she would do really well.
WATCHED Both episode so far .. i like the cast. Acting of both MLs but FL is Kinda you know still giving off the…
I am still in the first episode right now and agree about the suspense aspect. I thought it was suppose to be more romantic comedy, but I am getting the suspense vibes too. From FL's past to the first ML's weird persona.
Short, sweet, cute little high school drama. Typical, obvious story. I do have to say I liked the casting and the acting was really good. I do hope to see these actors in more future dramas.
I did end up fast forwarding through the last few episodes. Didn't really miss any of the storyline. It was really good, I just couldn't past the male antagonist's voice, so I had to end up fast forwarding through all those parts. The story was pretty good. The acting was good, a little over the top in some areas. The romance was a side note imo. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, but the story would still have worked without it.
Short, cute, little story. Nothing really dramatic. The story was cute, there were a couple of dumb moments, especially when the childhood friend came back (that particular story line was stupid and anti-climatic.) Not something I would watch again, which sucks cause I actually like both the main leads in other dramas.
I have to be honest I had never heard of webtoons before I started to watch Korean Dramas. I mean I follow(ed) a lot of Japanese Manga and seen them made into anime or into RL Dramas. I have seen several of the mentioned K dramas and have really liked everyone I have watched, there are even some on the list, that are on my to be watched list, some I hadn't even heard that I now want to watch. I also want to start reading these webtoons, because all the dramas I have watched I have liked and I have even watched some dramas where they talk about or actually do webtoons in their dramas (i.e. W, etc.). If anyone has any links to webtoons that I can read or get into that you recommend, please let me know. (Bonus if they are translated to English)
I finished it and really enjoyed it. It has been awhile since I watched a drama without fast forwarding. It was really interesting and cutesy. There were a few moments that were a bit lacking, but it was great overall.
