Also, I am so ready for the First Madam to be gone. I would seriously be happy with the Concubine back if we could get rid of the First Madam.

We are now past the halfway point and I am really ready for some of these secrets to come out in the open and for some things to be cleared up, yet it seems they keep adding more things that need to be cleared up. Hopefully, the jail thing will be taken care of in one, maybe 2 episodes.

I love the interactions between the FL and ML, but a lot of these interactions, I wish had waited until after she had found out that he wasn't her real brother. I mean he knows, but she doesn't right now and some seem a little bit, I don't know how to phrase it, much for them just being "siblings". She really does genuinely care for him as a brother, to see her so excited about the prospect of her getting a sister in law or helping him find one, it is so innocent on her part. I really wish he had of told her a long while back, especially now that she has said no more secrets between them.

I agree. Don't we already have enough unsolved situations right now, to add another, how many more are they going to add to the storyline.

If you haven't watched The Story of Ming Lan, Zhao Li Ying did the same thing with Ming Lan in that. It is one of my absolute favorite historical costume dramas with a very clever and smart FL who has no fighting skills whatsoever.

I agree with you about Ren Min, I think this drama will be a definite re watch for me. She is portraying this character very well. I am enjoying her acting and the story a lot.

My favorite part was the carriage ride back when they got held up by bandits. To see him in such a vulnerable position kind of made me happy.

One of the highlights for me is the sixth Uncle and sixth Miss's storyline. They bring a bit of lightness to the drama and I am all for their quirky interactions. And honestly, I don't think that really have that much screen time. There is always secondary stories and characters (sometimes even thirds) in these dramas, some of the stories are good and some not so good. I try to go with the flow unless the secondary stories/characters become overwhelming then I just fast forward their parts.

I was expecting more of LYN getting the evidence of her mom being poisoned by the first madam. I mean we got a little bit, but I was expecting the whole thing to be wrapped up with Ms Yang's appearance.

Yeah that scene seemed a little uncharacteristic for how smart she supposedly is. I mean really? She had no one to go with her. I think that is probably my first WTF moment in this whole drama.

The previews for the next 2 episodes looks like they are really amping up the drama. I think we won't get a resolution about her finding out who her real father is til after this whole mess with LSY's master is over. At least that is what it looks like. Also, that maidservant next to the first madam truly just wants to kill (get rid of, whatever) everyone that cause her madam problems. I think right now I want those two to be dealt with first. They are getting more annoying than Concubine Qiao ever was.

I am so ready for LYN to meet her real father. After the introduction of Duke Ying, I really think he will be happy for her and treat her like a real daughter unlike her current so called father.

Looks like we have another reason for the first madam to have poisoned Madam Gu. I don't think it can be any more obvious now who killed LYN's mother.

Also, I think the First Madam is even more heinous than that Concubine woman of the 2nd master.

The Rise of Ning is really well written and the acting is exceptional. I am quite pleased with it, myself. I personally would wait and finish "Are you the one?" ( I haven't watched it myself). But for me anyway, I find it distracting to watch a drama with the same actor I am currently watching in another drama. I am just weird that way. I can barely watch more than one currently airing drama at a time. I am barely keeping up with Kill Me, Love Me while watching this, but I am trying because they are both really good.

I think so, but it is just crazy, cause there are usually some bada** military people and even in the royal family, in some of these dramas anyway, you see royal members be part of the military. I think military should be above scholar, only cause most military members are great strategists and you need to be really smart, imo, to do that.

Ok I understand now, what you are talking about. Yeah, I get it, they are suppose to be quite intelligent, and it really didn't seem so in this interaction.

Also, I agree with you about this particular side story. The drama would still be just as good without this particular added unnecessary side. I guess they needed something to create the illusion of a "love triangle", so they took a certain aspect of the novel and recreated it into what we got here, it might be why it seems so inconsistent, cause they seem to have changed this particular storyline (I haven't read the novel, it is just what I have gathered from others that have)

Can anyone tell me why they won't let the brother that loves martial arts and is always reading military tactics join the army? I mean it would make sense. He doesn't like studying, he didn't pass the exam. I understand they are from a scholar family, but he could make great achievements in the military, just as he could as a scholar if not better.

I think LJX still under the assumption it got burned in the fire. Right now, LJX is focused on finding the remnants of LSY's master.

I think his main wife, is going to try and poison Ms. Yang.
