Yeah I have seen in other dramas, be it modern or ancient that they do it that way as well (the way you described), so watching this I was a bit confused. When they initially called LYN, 7th sister, I thought wow there are 7 girls in that family, but then that isn't how they did that.

I see, I don't think they will ever get along, cause I think the 1st branch of the family has deep resentment toward the 2nd branch, at least the madam and her son. I know she had another son as well, who has since died, cause they talked about him a few episodes ago, if I recall.

The main reason I am confused is cause the ML's LSY's father told him he is now the legitimate heir of the Luo family, basically putting him above all and I don't see how that is possible especially if he has an elder legitimate brother in the first branch side. Sometimes, getting all this family stuff is so confusing. LOL

I am a bit confused on all the children placement. So I know LSY is the 3rd brother (2nd Branch), LYN is the 7th sister (2nd Branch, not really but not everyone knows this yet), The 1st brother (1st Branch) died. LYX is the 6th sister (1st Branch). What order are the following Luo Yi Lian ? sister (2nd branch, concubine born ), Luo Yi Yu ?sister (1st branch), Luo Xuan Yuan ?brother (2nd branch, concubine born), and forgot name of LYY's brother ?brother (1st branch)?

So I ask this because who is 2nd? And because the ML's father told him he is now the heir of the Luo family, so does this officially make LSY (3rd brother of 2nd Branch) the main heir above all of the other brothers ?

Asking this after just watching the ceremony to give him the pedigree to test for the imperial exam. Hopefully this is not confusing, cause I am confused, lol.

lol anything is possible in these dramas, j/k .... I always have the theory that the sweeter they are the more evil they really are. Also, she could have always hired someone to off Ming Lan so that she could marry into the Luo family. But you are right that theory is way to far fetched and definitely not plausible. :)

I am hoping it isn't the grandma or Madam Lin (which the quiet sweet ones, you always have to watch out for). Another theory I saw posted was maybe she took her own life by poison.

Right, I almost can't stand to watch his scenes in this, he is very cringe to me as well. I just think the actor is doing an exceptional job, because he is totally creepy. I have seen him in other dramas and he never made me feel this way.

Yes they are. One of the biggest reasons, I do not watch Kdramas while they air, I think I have only watched one and I was like, I am not doing this anymore lol.

I was wondering if they would approach having Madam Lin adopt LSY to make him more legitimate. I mean that just makes sense. I think it should have happened earlier. I hate that his father treats him like crap, it isn't his fault his mother seduced the father while he was drunk. If nothing else, they should have put the ML under Madam Lin a long time ago and then he would have been favored somewhat and also have more status in the family, but I guess if they had done that there wouldn't be much of a story.

I missed 6th sister in this episode, it looks like we will see her soon from the previews though, she is one of my favorite characters in this drama.

Today's episode was a bit slow for me, there were a few tiny parts I did fast forward through, like I didn't care to much about the story around his senior brother and how they got him out of the city, etc. Other than that it was still good and like a lot of other people I think it is the 1st branch's madam that might have poisoned FL's mother.

I am starting to think this as well. And now she has "summoned" or rather "requested" her husband back, she hopes that will bring back some of her prestige. Although, from the previews it looks like her husband may not want anything to do with her and I am wondering who the new girl that seems to be joining the family will be.

agree and most K Dramas are only 12 to 24 episodes long.

I don't if I am more excited to watch the scenes between our main leads or the scenes between 6th uncle, 6th sister and the guy (I think he is a prince) who enjoys eating... 😄 although, I wish the 6th uncle would quit blocking the advances of the prince and 6th sister. I think their interactions are cute.

I really hope this drama doesn't hit a mid slope or get boring in the middle like a lot of them do. I am enjoying every single episode so far.
