This show easily get (9/10) for me but the last 4-5 eps ruin it for good.. like I can't with the political plot,…
I wish she had more fighting scenes as well. But honestly the last fight scene she had, I definitely could tell it was a stunt double. I like being able to watch and not tell and imagine that the actual actor did their own stunts. As great as I thought this was, there were a few off bits during the fighting scenes.

Any drama like this where we have a very strong and bright female lead that cant be bullied. I already watch a…
General and I, Legend of Fu Yao, New Life Begins, The Legends, The Princess Wei Young, The Rebel Princess, The Song of Glory, The Story of Ming Lan (she is not very strong, but she is extremely smart and cunning), Under the Power, The Blooms of Ruyi Pavilion

These are a few that I like, very smart women, some are strong and smart. Some are just really smart and cunning, especially The Princess Wei Young and The Story of Ming Lan. They are all very good, imo. Most of them are older (as in before 2020), but they don't make very man dramas like they use to. The newer dramas are sometimes harder to keep my attention, because they are reusing bits of other stories or are just predictable. New Life Begins is really nice and easy going, very smart female cast, it is one of the few more recent costume dramas I have enjoyed. Also, of course (I didn't put this up at the top, but) Love like the Galaxy.

Just finished this drama and I loved it. It was really good and cute. The story was so much better than a few of Jeremy Tsui's recent dramas. This one actually kept me engaged and I enjoyed the story and the acting. The only negative is I hated the "3rd Couple", I guess you might call them that, not her maid servant, but Yun Han and Xiu Ying ? pairing, their story was a bit boring to me and probably the only parts where I would have fast forwarded and probably will if I ever watch it again.

I absolutely love the FL and ML. Although, the story and writing in this is very lacking. It is also very predictable. I did start fast-forwarding after episode 15 or so and then started skipping episodes at 20. The story itself was a bit boring and basically repetitive of most other xianxias. It did have great acting (actors as well) in it though, which is disappointing cause of the lack of unique story made it fail. The sets and the costumes are beautiful. They did really well with the scenery as well, but I think that is the only saving grace of this unfortunately.

I didn’t know Joy of Life ended in a cliff hanger. I was so shocked. I do hope they finish it. I just watched…
I love ZRY, he is so good. SSS is suppose to have a second season, because there is so much more story to tell, but how they did the ended it won't hurt it if it doesn't get its second season, unlike JOL which left on a huge cliffhanger.

Sigh, you just started it and without giving the characters a chance, you wrote it off. I don't know how you judge…
I read it someone's comment about Esther Yu not to long ago and I think they said it best (let me see if I can remember what they said). "Basically she shows no growth as an actress, because in all her dramas she has that same "cutesy" (I would call it annoying) voice and acts exactly the same way be it modern or ancient/costume." That's kind of paraphrasing the comment I read, but I agree.

A lot of actresses you can see the difference in their acting in different dramas vs real life. Esther Yu is the same no matter what context you put her in. Li Qin, Bai Lu, Landy Li, and Peng Xiao Ran (whom I am watching now) just to name a few of the actresses that have a lot of depth to me and can take on different roles without it seeming like the same character from drama to drama.

Yeah, everyone seems to love it and normally I would probably love it too, but I can't get past her or the body switching they do. I don't like body swapping dramas ( I know it wasn't in there for long, but still..)

I am not trying to dismiss your statements. I personally hate FLs who are bratty and childish. The others have made great points the FL in this has a reason for being the way she is and she has great development in this drama. She was never taught decorum or the proper way to behave, because she was treated with disdain and an outcast as she was growing up. Her only close friend being a mischievous bird.

Another note, the two main FLs in this both are actually mortal, and a mortal in ancient China got married between 12 and 18, you hardly ever saw a female get married after the age of 18, she was an outcast or a maid, etc. The actors playing these characters are actually over 20 years, but they play them like they are in their teens. I know there are several ancient/costume dramas that have strong, smart, etc teenage FLs, but sometimes, especially like this FL (who went through a lot growing up) have turned out "bratty" as you say. I necessarily wouldn't call it bratty, I call it more uneducated.

I so agree about the FL in LBFAD. I am so not a fan of Esther Yu's and I honestly have tried watching multiple dramas with her in it. I think the only one I finished was Moonlight and I am not sure how I finished that one, maybe because of Ryan Ding, because I love watching him.

lol ep 7!!! I am liking how the ML and FL are slowly falling in love. Seems like ML actors were blushing during…
this is where I am at right now. I watched the first 6 episodes then paused to binge watch The Starry Love, since it finished, and now I am back to watching ROTF and at episode 7 now.

And finished.
Probably one of the best sisterly love dramas I have seen yet. I want to say I liked the ending, but I was hoping for something different. Overall, it was a superb drama. The acting was wonderful and I haven't ever watched these actors before, so now I am going to check out any of their other dramas. The writing, directing, acting, costumes, and the cinematography were absolutely wonderful. I even enjoyed the little bits of comedy put in here and there.

My only negative is I think there were to many side couples. I wish they had stayed mainly on the two main couples' story, probably would have been a bit fewer episodes that way. There were a few inconsistencies, and a few plot holes. A couple of scenes were a bit draggy, but I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the whole drama. I also thought the dialogue was a bit off in the last episode (I don't know if that was cause I was watching it on Viki or if it was like that anyway).

I understand why a lot of people said it should have ended at the beginning of episode 33. Honestly, I am glad they continued it, (albeit, not a fan of ending) it cleaned up a lot of stories and actually I was on the edge of my seat for most of mid 33 and on.

Title The Starry Love Spoiler
I have only ever been moved to tears by two other actresses. Zhao LuSi in "Who Rules the World" and Li Qin in "Tears in Heaven". Seriously, it takes a lot for me to cry over a scene, but just finished the scene with Man Man's death and Landy Li has now become the 3rd person to bring tears to my eyes (and honestly I didn't really like the Man Man character), such a huge moving scene. If the rest of this series is going to become dark, not sure if I want to continue.

Title The Starry Love Spoiler
Question in spoiler:
So I am currently on episode 33, When did the twins stop feeling each other's pain? Did I miss something? In the middle of episode 33, this is the spot I am at right now, where the girls are fighting that one guy (I forget his name).... Ye Tan gets hit really hard in the stomach by him and coughs up blood, although Qing Kui is fine and doesn't seem to have any effects from that.

Love your article, very well written. Princess Agents was probably the best open ending drama I have ever watched. I hate that we will never see an end but I think leaving it open ended lets us develop our own conclusion.

My biggest complaint is if/and or when they were to ever do a "season 2" of any of these dramas is the casting. IMO, if you replace key members of the cast for a next season (as what is being said with JOL 2) you won't get that same feeling or enjoyment with the original cast. I would rather not see a season 2 of something if you replace to many, especially the main leads. I felt that way when they made Eternal Love of Dream, although they touted it basically as a retelling of the story between Bai Feng Jiu and Emperor Dong Hua, it had quite a few cast changes that were quite noticeable. I know it is more about the continuation of story, but what draws audiences is the acting as well and for some characters they are just irreplaceable.
