I agree. The changes fit the drama narrative better. The novel has its charms too. Ending-wise, I'd go with the novel as it's more fleshed out but I guess they had to fit everything within 40 episodes and it's not like there were so much filler to remove to make way for the same novel ending.

I went down the CP rabbit hole with this one when it was airing. They are so cute together and both played their roles really well.

For the ending, I'd recommend reading the novel ending and envision Neo and Zhou Ye hahaha It was more fleshed out in the novel. But all in all, I agree this was an easy (not overly complicated) and enjoyable costume drama.

some people just didn't like it for having a cheating husband and didn't give it a chance. also first 2 episodes weren't as gripping for those who want every drama to be fast and furious for their shorter attention span.

This is one drama I'd recommend viewers to try to stick it out until Ep4 and if they still aren't feeling the drama then it's okay to stop. Definitely started slow and picked up the pace after its first 2 episodes.

The drama writer is actually well established and respected. Executives don't mind pouring budget in her dramas. Brands and advertisers too. Her dramas also tend to get year-end awards.

The Korean title translates literally to Carry Seon Jae and Run (The fangroup chat name she's the admin of). So the Lovely Runner is her.

Have a feeling Zeus and Yoon Young has some connection. I can't believe he hasn't found anything worth noting with YY. That girl made my spider sense tingle in her first scene.

Maybe he became an idol to get her attention coz she was fangurling on a band member hahahaha she was his north star but he lost her as time went by, so he ended up not finding fulfillment with being an idol
