What the heck was going on between Weishen and Lady Wuji? Why did Wuji give up Weishen to Shangjue and then later go visit her after her escape as if everything was fine and then poison her again? Did something happen between the prison break and the bedside visit for Wuji to suddenly come visit Weishen and Weishen accepting the visit and the gift that poisoned her?
And if Wuji had accepted the Gong family and turned her back on Wufeng, why wouldn't she accept Weishen and keep trying to kill her?
Now in ep 20, Weishen and Ziyu talking about Shangguan Qian...when did she reveal that SQ is also Wufeng?
All of the best doctors at the Emperor's disposal could not cure Lord Ding, the emperor's precious brother, but of course Mu with a little book learning could do it! Yes, makes total cdrama sense! 😂
Honest question: why are they releasing trailers for episodes that are so far ahead? Usually it’s just the next…
This is pretty standard practice for Tencent to release that many trailers for their big period dramas. I think you're thinking of iQiyi that only does a couple trailers at a time.
i was watching him in moving and i thought his face looked so different, then i realized my last memory of him…
He took way too much time off from dramas and missed the prime of his looks. He was absolutely gorgeous in It's Okay, That's Love. He's still very handsome, but starting to look old.
I think I saw you a few times on the viki app….. You really HATE jing. lol
I agree with you, but I don't think Jing is even handsome enough to overcome his flaws. I think the three other male lead actors all look better in period costume and wigs than him. Maybe in real life with short hair, he's just as handsome, but not in this drama.
I binge watched up until ep31 without reading any spoilers. I dislike Jing not because I prefer XL (I stopped rooting for him the moment he drowned her, even though I do think he is much sexier and has more chemistry with XY), but because Jing is so weak and unable to protect XY. I like my heroes to be like John Wick when they are wronged. Jing not only has no plans to seek revenge against his evil brother, he still treats him like family. Jeez, at least find a way to disown him and have him disinherited. And all those times he stands still like a statue just waiting for XY...not romantic, just lame. And don't get me started on his inability to break the engagement and stand up to his grandmother.
Anyway, I've since read A LOT of spoilers on here and reddit, and the enthusiasm I had while binging the first 30 episodes has totally waned. At this point, the only scene I want to see is from the series trailer, where XL/FFB takes XY away from her wedding.
This was epically meh. I should have dropped at ep19 when I was losing interest. Such a shame when a high production value drama with beautiful leads is so boring.
I'm on episode 33 and I'm going to say the 8.0 rating is justified so far. This drama is draggy af. I am forcing myself to complete it, but my god, the number of speeches and internal monologues are boring me to death.
Why is the rating so low? This movie is a 10! I happily stumbled on this in YouTube with all Chinese title that I can't read. I just started watching because it had Eng Sub and high view count with no expectations. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised.
The sibling relationship and mom reminded me of my Chinese relatives...I could totally relate.
