it's not bl... I come expecting one and was served intern office comedy... it's not bad but it was marketed and sold as bl. So I basically asked for chocolate and was served vanilla...
The first two episodes were really good, but it went downhill from there. While the cinematography, locations, and editing are among the best of Thai BL series we have seen so far, the acting and story needed a lot more work, especially the Story. There is a big IQ drop to explain the plotlines, loanshark trying to kill an executed famous person... what happened to lets try to make it look as accident? Or making him work to pay it of? Killing him bring them nothing while making him accept shady work bring back some money and would make for better plot. There is a lot of stuff that just doesn't make sense and expect viewers to take it on face value. This whole series need rewrite and it could gain cult following like KP
I think its obvious for everyone, not to mention director saying he wanted to be truthful to source material in…
Which is why i will not even try to google it to check where lay exact law line in description of minor nudity... and how little or much fall into child p**n category...
I think its obvious for everyone, not to mention director saying he wanted to be truthful to source material in…
People in comment bellow speak about age of consent forgetting we also have kid p*rn law and possession and distribution of minor nudes... Depending how they handle it they might be in biggest BL scandal yet to come.
Anyone who watched OG addicted should understand why a 16 year old is not appropriate for this role.
I think its obvious for everyone, not to mention director saying he wanted to be truthful to source material in interview.. At this point a lot of people are probably watching them closely, because minor acting in BL is nothing new but if NC scenes will drop it will be different story. Crew probably also judge reaction and if they are smart would clean up problematic scenes before backlash get too big.
I don't think age gap is a problem.. problem is that Mac was 15/16 yo when he filmed, not sure how exploit NC…
I think argument that his parents allowed it is flawed - most of child abuse cases involve parents - Child agreeing to take nude photos because mommy said she will buy him lego set if he was good isn't okay just because child is not a toddler or his parents are okay with it. I know it sound crazy but if you watch any documentary about this topic you will find much nastier examples. Also since you are not interested in drama you might not understand me who was an original Chinese addicted fan of 2016 and my happiness when we finally after all these years could get a chance for proper finished adaptation - only to get something like this for not good reason - as you wrote yourself they had thousands of unproblematic choices that would guarantee season 2. As for protest it will probably happen in time - not sure if you remember Love by Chance but Saint, Perth and Director New, needed to apologize more than once because Perth filmed NC scene when he was still 17 and a lot of people were very unhappy about it, it still surface from time to time.
Keep crying about the age gap....He doesn't give a fuck, if you don't want to watch it 😃😃
I don't think age gap is a problem.. problem is that Mac was 15/16 yo when he filmed, not sure how exploit NC scenes will be but they already in very grey zone, skimming line between illegal and legal. Do you think that with this kind of shit going on we will get season 2 and get whole adaptation? Of course not - they just killed this franchise once again. I would not be surprised if in best case they put some law restriction to prevent this kind of situations in future.
While me and my friends were talking about this show one of my friends mentioned how nice it would have been if…
It would be really great casting tbh, impossible but really great. But not sure if P'Aof would be the greatest choice for director for this work, he have tendency to play too safe
I just want to watch the full story, hope they would show us full novel ðŸ«
Its impossible, it just 10 episodes so if they reach halfway point it would already be great - and with all this shit going on i don't think they will have sponsorship for season 2
He was 15 when this started,I can only hope there's no kiss and nc scene here
Because Addicted is almost urban legend in BL circle, hearing it will get Thai adaptation it was basically big event on twitter... But it make me wonder Saint, Perth and Director New needed to apologize and were under the fire because Perth was still 17 when he filmed the bed scene with Saint in Love by Chance. Director New also needed to apologize several times for that... so any rational adult would not cast 15yo for this drama with 28yo without some creepy reason. It also first big Bl china novel adaptation in Thai so I don't see China right-holder agency giving them rights to other works when they created such mess... which pose a question what law are about kiddy p*rn in Thai and China and how much trouble there will be long-term
He was 15 when this started,I can only hope there's no kiss and nc scene here
Yup everyone went thought that stage, but no 15/16 will believe it till they experience it themselves. Wisdom come with age as they say. Some also try to excuse it as his parent allowed it - like some parents literally don't sell their kinds for money ... but as i wrote in my main comment i am now waiting for scandal because there definitely will be some creepy one
Addicted have a special place in my heart so when Thailand announced the remake it was like Christmas coming early for me. I watched as Newyear took part in casting, and later big event as they introduced 3 main actors. YES 3 people, because at that time they introduced just Mac, Newyear and Jur. Was I disappointed? Kinda with such a young cast we will surely get something more like Stay with me rather than something more truthful to novel. So when they quietly announced August taking the lead my jaw literally dropped. Age difference aside, Mac is minor staring in 18+ novel he can't legally read but someone thought it was okay for him to act NC scenes he can't legally watch? Make it make sense... There is a good reason that since years back ships with age differences ( or if one of them was minor) usually did fake kissing and no NC scenes. Even if it isn't illegal it's something just so morally wrong that no director who truly cares about his work would agree to bury his work under such unnecessary controversy. So for me its not if, but already a matter of when something creepy about this set will be reported.
He was 15 when this started,I can only hope there's no kiss and nc scene here
probably they are minors... I think we all know people who dated adults in highschool and thought nothing of it till we reached that age and realized how creepy it truly was
I know I am late to the party but I just finished first episode. I almost fell in love till it turned into poor…
On episode 4 and i definitely need to read novel because something is very off in character portrayal, storytelling or editing - not that its bad but it just don't make sense - Joe wanting to move to bigger place to have space for the two of them - he already live in freaking big apartment that look almost empty - Ming falling in love with Tong by action scene where only back is shown... Like Really? - trying to white wash Ming in just 3 episode while at this point we should be all for Joe - after all we as watcher need to support him leaving i can mention several others about Ming and Joe dynamic and i am still pretty early in the series . No idea what exactly is off until i read novel but from what i see with just some small changes it could be truly amazing series
I know I am late to the party but I just finished first episode. I almost fell in love till it turned into poor bottom get played by rich top cliche... Maybe Its too early to tell but Ming character read to me as spoiled needy rich brat - Up really went beyond with this role but due of how good Up act this role Joe character stopped making sense to me - he is a working adult with years of experience in industry but get played by recently graduated rich boy, he even switched his sexual preference for someone he meet not 24h before.. Anyway going to watch episode 2, maybe Joe will suddenly get back his brain cells
30 minutes and only 8 eps is just dumb .... Everything seems missing.....
not really... in manga they have psychical relationship since chapter one so if you look at this from this perspective story make more sense. But you are right by removing that aspect i also find it confusing how they are at let's move together stage...
Ok I will be first to admit that reading manga before watching this was not the smartest idea ( I also watched Jdrama when it first come out), If I didn't read it I would have enjoyed it more as it stand I have several bones to pick - styling, its another show where gmmtv actors have exactly the same hairstyles, Tay, Gun, Win etc let them change hairstyles for roles or even wear a wig... - Director X can't do comedy, he is great in emotional bits but comedy is not his forte - scriptwriting, if you have so many volumes of manga why recycle the original Jdrama plot points? You had new great plots from author and decided to rely on adaptation? Just Why?
To sum it up the less you know of source material the more you will probably enjoy this drama.
Just how this show have a ranking of 8.1? I basically forced myself to watch till episode 6 (if It wasn't for actors I would give up after second episode) and finally thrown in the towel. I can enjoy idealistic uni cute fluff with simple storyline but at least make it up in cinematography and editing. I just don't feel any love was put in producing this show...
This show have a big identity crisis, it just can't decide what it wants to be. We have a group of various genres authors ( some rich while other need to deliver food for money but still considered popular? ) who for some reason decide to team up to write Bl novel - why? Its good question. Drama have 3 main parts - Real life of authors and their love drama - Ancient BL story they are writing - Table discussion in PJ - that is supposed to showcase their ideas/ message group as they cowrite novel.
The idea of this show is not bad but its executions kinda is. I find their real-life storyline very bland (It just nothing new and we can find something very similar in dozens of works) while the story they write and discuss has potential. Personally I would drop whole real-life author drama and make some system force them to rewrite existing work ( according to their own story idea) which would put some stakes why they are even doing it in the first place. They could also showcase how some minor changes in some scenes change whole outcome witch would be fun to watch if done right.
This is so bad i don't get the praise... The show is supposed to be about Ryan and Jane but they barely have any…
hmm I get you - you come for romance but received intern company comedy with bl backdrop. you need to switch expectations or drop it because you will not get romance - romance from this one
