I think the driver of Shi Yan is the uncle of Qin Le Zi. She is lying to the guy that her uncle is Shi Yan
yup, Fan Lei the driver is her real uncle but she told Xing Zhou Shi Yan is. I was wondering if there is a more complicated storyline since there are still 13 episodes to go :)
I'm fascinated with everything about this drama. I look forward to new episodes everyday.
Shu Yi is such an unpredictable character, not the conventional sensible-can-do-no-wrong cdrama FL. I can understand why Bailu bravely accepted this role. Shu Yi would be a challenge to portray because not doing her right could make her obnoxious. I'm amused at her flaws, scrapes and outrageousness, so I guess Bai Lu is doing it right. Those who think smart people never do stupid things have unrealistic expectations of people. Having said this, I do hope Shu Yi matures, at least learn that slouching at the dinner table, especially at a banquet, is rude and that honesty is the best policy, i.e. stop lying!
Shi Yan is another complex character. Every episode unlocks another layer of his personality. His jealousy, vulnerability like when he got drunk after Bruce's betrayal, his thoughtfulness and dependability like when he asks Chen to drive Shu Yi home or orders her food and his gentle and caring nature when she got sick, draws me more and more to him.
Shanshan and Guan Ji's relationship problem due to lack of communication is realistic. How many relationships end simply because couples don't talk to each other? I'm looking forward to finding out how they resolve this.
Shi Yue's pursuit of Yu Yuo is stalkerish but I'm interested in finding out whether Shi Yue is going to persevere. Yu Yuo seems to have gotten interested in her relationship with Guan Ji. Was he jealous? Score 1 for Shi Yue!
To add to these, there are the projects that Shi Yan's company is embarking regarding chip production in China. I'm excited he seems to have found a replacement for Bruce.
And there are a lot of mysteries to unravel like Shi Yan's foreknowledge about Shu Yi (did he start crushing on her 3 years ago), the mistress' identity, Yu You talking to his mom about his past marriage (or did I hear incorrectly), Yi Yang's pursuit of Shu Yi (did he indeed just get interested with her after reading her article or does he have some other ulterior motive).
With all these happening, there is never a dull moment.
Hang on, the niece, Qin Shi Yue, and the mistress, Qin Le Zhi, have the same surname. I thought at first that the mistress has no relation to Shi Yan at all. But, might the mistress' uncle be Shi Yue's dad?
as of ep 22, the misunderstanding about the mistress and the uncle has not been sorted out yet. However, I think…
there are many things to occupy the viewer, foremost of which is the developing romance between the leads, so I'm quite content just following the story where it wants to go 🙂
If you have read the comments on there you would have seen for yourself the comments are quite harsh. There are…
t thought holding the glasses was a mannerism of Shi Yan? I've seen people do that. Why would his attitude in variety shows affect the rating? I agree about the antis working harder than the fans. Why were they against him taking the role? I heard he took it in gratitude to the director or somebody else in the production team?
So your friends are enjoying it but you don’t trust them , you trust this Douban ( I don t know what it is sorry…
it will work if the proportion of haters is close to the proportion of fans, but if the number of haters overpower the number of fans, you will get a situation like what happened to Fireworks of my Heart. When people want to downrate a drama, they can find a lot of excuses. In FOMH, even the faucet that was turned on while the couple was being sweet became a big issue
I was thinking about checking this out for the cast and because I used to be a business reporter (and my friends…
does anybody know why Ace Troops still has not been rated? I heard a rumor that it's because antis rated it so low. if this is the case, why can't douban check antis in all dramas and also stop the ratings from being published if there are signs of infestation?
man, it just occurred to me, Shu Yi told her boss she does not like Yi Yang coz he is making the interview an excuse to court her. But isn't this what Shi Yan did? Or maybe that was the reason Shi Yan kind of kept his distance from her while they were interviewing, except when she was the one pursuing him, so he wouldn't look like he was using the interview to court her. 'Wonder if this will create any problem between them.
this may have been asked and answered below, but is it the same in the novel? the misunderstanding about the cheater…
as of ep 22, the misunderstanding about the mistress and the uncle has not been sorted out yet. However, I think it's amusing in a topsy-turvy way so I don't mind it. I'm just interested in how it's going to unravel

A lot of people have lost trust in Douban saying it has been infiltrated by antis and I didn't believe them at first. I was even defending Douban at one time because the rating it gave LBFAD was just right imo. But when they gave such a low rating for Fireworks of My Heart which is not that bad compared to dramas with higher ratings, I began to believe them. And now this! I now believe Douban is truly infested with antis. Only For Love is much better than many Chinese dramas that have higher Douban ratings.
You know I thought it was a terrible idea having both dramas on at the same time but maybe it's a stroke of iQiyi…
You mean iQiyi and Dylan? Before Love Between Fairy and Devil aired in 2022, iQiyi was struggling with its market share. LBFAD, which stars Dylan, became a smash hit and helped iQiyi become a powerhouse in the streaming business in China. On 3 Nov, Only For Love was released by MangoTV, a competitor of iQiyi, with a market share that is much smaller, around 7x smaller than iQiyi's. When Only For Love aired, it topped rating charts, besting iQiyi-produced drama Fearless. After 3 days of getting beaten in the ratings by the smaller MangoTV, iQiyi released Story of Kunning Palace that stars Bai Lu who also stars in Only For Love with Dylan. This, naturally, divided Bai Lu's fans, who seem to mostly prefer the costume drama that they had waited for for a long time. Although OFL is still doing well, it would have done much better had SOKP not been released.
Dylan worked hard to get ads for OFL. Considering how iQiyi and Dylan worked before, you'd think there'd be some kind of loyalty between them that would make them avoid stepping on each other's shoes. But I guess there's no such thing in China.
It seems Bai Lu's costume dramas are more successful than her modern ones.
Did the mistress really get in/got out shi yan's car? Or did shu yi saw the mistress? I forgot this scene or it…
Shu Yi was shown watching her ex-bf and the mistress being lovey-dovey before the mistress got in Shi Yan's car and Shu Yi has been calling the mistress Shi Yan's niece ever since, so I assume she saw the mistress getting in the car. Note that it was not shown who was in the car when the mistress got in.
