Agreed! The Legends was the first Bai Lu drama I watched and I was blown away by her acting.

Because of how his character is set up (in the novel and the drama), Xiao Lin will always be upright and remain true to YBC.

Their dynamics would have been more interesting if the drama followed the novel in the dream arc. Deng Wei would have played a wolf demon (Shao Ju) who fell in love with Bai Lu's Sang Jiu. He kept helping her after she demonized and parted ways with Ming Ye.

Also, because of this remnant love/affection of Shao Ju for Sang Jiu from the dream arc, Xiao Lin protected YXW later on in the mortal world.

Actually, I remember it was referred to as World Alluring Jade when it was introduced in the drama too but I just rewatched ep.18 and SJ called it World Overturning Jade. I guess the translators are flip-flopping between those two names. 😂

In the novel, TTJ just assumed that he absorbed the World Toppling Flower( aka World Overturning Jade in the drama) and it became his eye. It was only until later when he realized that YXW gave her eye to him and she took in the jade thus cursing herself to the prophecy of that relic.

Are we getting zombies aka corpse demons in the drama? Those are supposed to be TTJ next target since he couldn't get the dragon. Foiled again by YXW! 😂

As I understood it from the novel, MY tried to resurrect SJ (the broken clam shell) but that was impossible so he sealed himself in his dragon form at the bottom of the murky Mo River (where the clam kingdom used to be) rewatching his memories for 10,000 years. This time though because the "gang" entered his dream, he was forced to choose between being good or evil. TTJ was urging him to devilize and he almost did, but YXW had the pearl which showed the beautiful innocent memories of why Sang Jiu fell in love with Mingye - the great hero who protected the world. Mingye decided to honor her love by not devilizing. Instead, he offered his body to calm and purify the Mo River and he passed on. 🥲
TTJ was enraged that he missed getting this immortal dragon because of YXW intervention. 😅
