This drama got its opening douban rating 6.2 like they did not do it justice at all.
It is too low. Viewing data is showing the continued popularity and love for the show though. Personally, regardless of any ratings, I continue to watch a drama when I like it. I am enjoying TTEOTM so far so I will watch on! π
In ep 22 what does TTJ mean when he said "ye xiwua you are still not apeased, you still didn't come to me" as…
TTJ was still processing his feelings/thoughts so he didn't allow her to see him at first. During that "not appeased" scene however, TTJ was already ready to see YXW but she did not go seek him out anymore so he went to her room in the palace. YXW came by to her room but only to get her things since she will go home to Ye Mansion.
I donβt hate YBC as much as everyone here. I just find that her evilness is not very believable. It seems like…
YBC is very self-serving because she grew up being bullied in Ye's household as a concubine's daughter. Despite having the "virtues" prized in their society, she will never have the same respect/rank because of her birth status. She also realized that she is powerless most of the time so she is looking out only for herself. It doesn't excuse what she has done (and will do) but she is trying to survive.
No hate against the actress but this character needed someone with more acting chops to give it more depth and dimension. Most of the time, she appears very bland and not quite up to par as the other actors. I think the only time I was impressed with her acting was during the robbing/maid stabbing scene. She was so coldblooded in that one that it gave me chills. Hopefully, she steps up her acting game. Some villains are actually quite enjoyable to watch when they act well.
I haven't seen that drama. π Frankly, firefly scenes and looking-at-stars scenes are a dime a dozen in dramas but I don't mind this one since it's LYX and Bailu on screen. π
Drama certainly made TTJ more humane, benevolent, and even diplomatic.
I loved our OTP's sweet moments. They really light up the screen and have this warmth to each other (which was totally absent in the novel). LYX and Bailu's chemistry is amazeballs as always. πππ
I do hope they scale down that peppy romcom BGM because this drama is NOT a romcom. It sounds jarring considering that those "sweet" acts of YXW are only meant to grow the 9 nails. Poor TTJ! YXW also hasn't realized that she is falling for him. We are really being set up to be in a world of pain and heartbreak later. πππ
Pian Ran, the love guru, is beautiful and adorable! π₯°π₯°π₯°
SML did not fall in love with FL. Xiao Lin did grow affection for her because of their connection in the B'ore Life(dream arc) but he stayed loyal to his wife YBC.
He's got "feminine" face structure, delicate lines on his face and now that he's lost so much weight he looks…
I was also a bit alarmed when I first saw him so thin in TTEOTM. For the role, it kind of makes sense for him to be gaunt since he was a half-starved prince who basically subsisted on critters in the palace. However, people were body shaming Leo so the TTEOTM production released an official statement about it. Apparently, Leo got accidently punched on the face on the last day of filming Light Chaser Rescue so he could not eat as much coz of his injury. They actually had to push back the filming schedule for TTEOTM so he could recover first. Bailu had some of her scenes taken first then he joined the set for the epic "boat scene".
I got the membership for the Youku English YouTube channel, but I canβt find how to watch the exclusive membership…
Did you click on the JOIN button and paid for the VIP subcription on the official Youku YouTube channel? I remember I did this before for Word of Honor and it worked. I could watch the current eps for VIPs there. I am not sure if it is still the same though coz I subscribed through the Youku app now so I am watching from there.
Just finish episode 18, hmm but i got confused to some episodes i wanna know if the "B'ore life" was the one that…
Yes, the Bo're life is a dream that loops the events from 10,000 years ago. In the novel, MY tried to resurrect SJ (the broken clam shell) but that was impossible so he sealed himself in his dragon form at the bottom of the murky Mohe River (where the clam kingdom used to be) rewatching his memories for 10,000 years. This time though because the "gang" entered his dream, he was forced to choose between being good or evil. TTJ was urging him to devilize and he almost did, but YXW had the pearl which showed the beautiful innocent memories of why Sang Jiu fell in love with Mingye - the great hero who protected the world. Mingye decided to honor her love by not devilizing. Instead, he offered his body to calm and purify the Mohe River and he passed on. π₯² TTJ got enraged that he missed getting this immortal dragon because of YXW's intervention.

Calm down, LYX! π

The firefly scene was magical! π«π«π«
