Haha, you definitely are not alone in this assessment. You username definitely is fitting for your observation on the ML's character. I mean I think there have been several instances in both episode 2 and 3 when he has acted instinctively, like for example when he stood up for her at the dinner table infront of her family. That didn't look planned and he seemed genuinely concerned for her wellbeing. The problem with him thus far is that he actions towards her are based on assumptions. He needs to just ask her point blank his concerns and worries. He assumes she doesn't care for him or that his name isn't on the will. I wouldn't even be surprised if she didn't sign a prenup or has left her all assets to him on the will.
Whilst I get the anger/hatred towards Baek Hyun Woo to a certain extent - the whole wanting his wife to die thing…
Completely agree with your assessment. I have written something similar further down in the comments. And I'm glad you could look past his morally grey actions and see his true personality and intentions. His actions are clearly influenced by his past suffering and his Friend's influence. It doesn’t make it right but makes it understandable. I'm also glad they made his character morally grey. It's more realistic, albeit his reaction is exaggerated for comedic purposes but it does make sense to feel elements of relief after all the suffering he endured. I do think he has other faults in regards to the demise of their marriage but that just makes him more human.
They surely will clarify all your questions hopefully The comedic elements is black or dark comedy, they haven't…
Agreed. I think they are making it humorous because the leads aren't taking it seriously, especially the ML. Howver, the seriousness will come in later when it actually sinks in that she is indeed dying in 3 months. Of course, Hee-in several steps further into acceptance than the ML.
Only 3 ep..long way to go ..ikr ? But too many things are going on here and u can't feel connection (when you…
I completely understand where you're coming from.
My take is: 1. I think this drama is supposed to be taken as a dark comedy so don't take it too seriously. Although it was hard for me to watch him celebrate her only having 3 months left to live, after rewatching parts of ep 1 and 2. I can sympathise with his decision a little more although I don't support his actions. I think they are only making light of the situation because at this point both of the main characters are not taking her terminal illness seriously, hence the tone. More so him than her, of course. And since the show initially started with his perspective I think the tone of show reflected his thoughts on the matter. I do think in future episodes her condition won't be part of the comedic moments as much, especially now with her coming to terms that they may in fact not be a cure for her condition and there is a very high chance she will die in 3 months after reading her emails from various doctors. Hence her now trying new things out and personality shifting. 2. Yh I found it hard to stomach watching him celebrate her being terminally ill or counting the days until she dies. Honestly I do think he is lying to himself at times abojt not having any feelings for the FL. His actions say otherwise and he even admitted that he acted instinctively when he saved her form the boar. Of course there are moments were he is being overdramatic which I assume is for the inheritance money bit other times where he shows he actually still does care for her deep down. I think he listens to his friend too much about the getting inheritance money. It's plaguing is naturally good-natured personality. I could see from this episode there were a few hints showing he wasn't as comfortable with the idea of getting closer to Hee-in just for rhe money as he did in episode 2. My observation is his jealousy is revealing his forgotten love for Hee-in. As for the family, they just want a soft life. Can you blame them 😂😂. But seriously, they had one job and they couldn't even do it properly. They had me convinced that they would spill the beans about ML previouslt wanting a divorce
Ok, this episode 3, just confirmed that we have to be carefull with 3 people in this drama so far: Grandpa's girlfriend,…
Agreed with all of this, except I am all for a redemption arc for Ha-In since she is married to Hee-in's brother. Although, she would have to put in ALOT of work. I do wonder about her backstory like her family history. After the reveal, I sure she lied about growing up in America to make herself seem more socially on par with the Queen's Group. I wonder if she actually has a family or if she too is an orphan who has perhaps resorted to scamming to make a living. If it is the latter, a redemption arc would be nice. I would like to know her actual reason in marrying Hee-In's brother - was it solely for money and a comfortable life?
As for Eun Seong, I too was hoping th3 character would be somewhat similar to thr actor's character in Into The Ring. Would have been nice to be swooning over the ML and SML, however now I'm just creeper out by him.
Sung Hoon's acting is so good that he makes me wanna punch every time he gives that smile😂😅
I thought his character would be like Into The Ring 😔. Not a serial killer :( I loved seeing that warm side of him in that drama. Now, he's just a massive creep and no longer attractive in my eyes.
This was a fun episode. I think this was my favourite episode so far. The ending was... let's say unexpected 🥰, and with each episode Hee-in demonstrates why she is indeed a Queen 👑.I only wished that the FL would have learnt the truth about the ML wanting to get a divorce, but deep down I knew this would have be too good to be true. I'm sure the writers will leave the reveal for a later episode, which might lead to a break up between leads for the ML's dishonesty and betrayal (from Hee-in's perspective). I sometimes find it sad to see how much faith Hee-in has for the ML being good-natured. Although, I do think he is lying to himself if he thinks some of his actions and decisions are not caused by his forgotten love for her instead of the inheritance money that his friend keeps reminding him of.I'm definitely grossed out now when the SML is anywhere near the FL after learning his backstory. I didn't mind him before as a potential rival to the ML, but now I can't stand him. His character has become very creepy and honestly I'm a little fearful for the FL's safety with she is around him alone, especially at night. You never know when he might snap. I'm 80% sure the SML will find out that ML originally wanted a divorce and use that as ammunition to get "rid" of the ML, perhaps by making this information public. I hope I am wrong with these predictions but those are my current thoughts. I think for now I'll be tuning out of the show and will resume after the show reaches episode 8. I want the episodes to stack so that I can binge watch. I hate having to wait for new episodes to drop each week and I want to see the ML actually realise his feelings for the FL.
I was reaaaaally excited for this drama. I waited A LOT for it to be released, I thought it would be romcom, with…
My exact thoughts!! I feel sooo bad for how, especially after seeing how her own mother treats her. I hope the ML starts taking her situation more seriously when he founds out more about her condition or actually realises she does in fact love him and continues to defend him when anyone bad mouths him. She is in fact alone in all this. She needs more allies.
My guess is she is a hidden villian that won't come to play until about the half way point of the show (perhaps…
Interesting. I honestly took at as her trying to stay in the family's good side. But I do think what she suggested afterwards to help seemed sus. She does seem to care for her husband though so maybe she is wrapped up something dodge cos of her own family.

Oh loll, my bad. I mixed up the names. I typically need 4 or so episodes to familiarise myself with characters names.
As for the brother's wife, I would like to think she is a kind-hearted person. (Do they have a child together???) However, her actions and advice are suss. It seems like he gets into a lot of trouble with his grandpa because of the advice she gives him.
but I'm quite annoyed that hyun woo behaves like he doesn't like her at all like I know he have every reason to…
Yh, I completely agree. He is acting like they are complete strangers.I didn't realise how much he despised her during their marriage. I thought he would have at least sympathised with her situation after talking directly to the doctor - like she doesn't have long to live. I guess that will come a little later when she shares more about her struggles or if he sees more of her perspective. I also think he is lying to himself at times when he says he has no feelings for her. When he stood up for her at the dining table that seemed very genuine and his eyes looked actually concerned for her. However, the other timesn, e.g. with her choking on the water, was definitely OTP with him trying to get some inheritance money.
Oh man, I love this show already!! I can't wait to see what is in store for us in the upcoming weeks.
Something that came to mind while watching the second episode.
The FL seems to be warming up to the ML now that she thinks that ML has no ill intentions. At the moment, she believes he loves and is the only person that wants her to live. I'm thinking that the fact that he wanted a divorce will come to light once they have gotten closer and could possible be a reason for a temporary split between them. I'm just guessing since the pacing and the development of their relationship seems quite fast at the moment.
I think rather than about illness it was more about his freedom . He's been having a hard time for 3 years . When…
Yh, agreed. I think it’s sometimes hard to remember that because we have seen more from FL's perspective and her struggles than him. We have more insight into both how she is feeling about her condition and how she feels about him. Sometimes it is a little hard to watch when he is happy about the freedom he will have once she is gone, whilst she is terrified and quite frankly alone in battling her condition and coming to terms with her fate. Granted he has had an unpleasant experience with the family and her for the past 3 years but as the audience we haven't seen too much of the bad treatment, beyond the 1st episode. I also think some of his dislike of her stems from false assumptions, such as him believing that she doesn't care him or that she signed a prenup and therefore he would get nothing. It appears that their marriage was done very differently to how marriages in their family are typically done. After the second episode I can now see why the FL is the way she is. She is a "cold" person to protect herself from her own family and any outsiders are try to target her. You can tell that she can be a warm person when she lets her guard down. Right now, she needs a supportive husband. I hope he at least takes her condition a little more seriously, despite the comedic moments that arise from him trying to please her to get the inheritance and also survive the family politics.
Tbh i didn't like the way ML was celebrating after hearing FL illness
Yh I completely agree. It wasn’t until about the halfway point of the 2nd episode where I was able to rationalise he reasons for rejoicing e.g. one being his freedom without any "casualties" on his side. However, I do feel bad for the FL, espiecially aftwr her saying that she was suspious of him and now she trusts him a little more, as well as him being the only person who wants to stay alive. 🥲 I hope by next week, he won't be rejoicing anymore and will actually be doing these nice acts out of kindness and not for the inheritance.

Yes, we're all overstimlated by his cute smile and abs.
