I completely understand what you mean. But I think that is just all part of the genre. Most rom coms, especially…
Ah I see. Then you are in the wrong genre. You won't find any of those tropes you mentioned not appear in a romance/comedy kdrama. If you want more mature romances. So far I have only come across a few kdramas that don't follow those common tropes:
- Flower of Evil (married couple)
- It's okay, that's Love (strangers to lovers)
- Call it Love (might find it a little slow in pacing, but I loved it)
Personally, I don't mind tropes if they are written and acted well. However, the romance genre is full of tropes - you can't escape them. It's the nature of kdramas. I guess everyone has their limits on what they can and cannot overlook, e.g. I don't mind friends to lovers, ex-lovers to lovers, childhood friends to lovers

Title Welcome to Samdal-ri Spoiler
I think there were two breakups. The last one being Young Pil breaking up with Sam Dal
I could be completely wrong. My guess is Sam dal broke up first when she decided to leave for Seoul to pursue her dream. Something happened in the middle which made them get back together. Then, Young Pil broke up with her because he felt he was just holding her back or felt insignificant compared to her dream, especially since he referred to himself as the small stream in episode 1 but she wanted to leave the small stream behind to become a dragon. The breakups could have totally been the other way round.

You should watch Into The Ring. She was soft and funny in the role too.
Oh loll, was it the FL being too aggressive at the beginning. If so, then that gets toned down pretty quickly.

I see your point. But even taking into account the fickle nature of Korean social media, short of the assistant…
Yh, exactly. I don't think it should be taken too seriously. I don't think the drama is meant to be completely true to the real world. It seems for the most part the scandal is a plot device. Who knows whether Sam-dal returns to her career in photography. I think she might though since otherwise, I'm not sure if there is enough plotline to be interesting for 16 episodes.

like this is your reputation and career we're talking about!! fight for it ffs
I don't think it isn't supposed to be taken too seriously. In the context of the drama, she has to be back home temporarily or permanently (?). Of course, it is frustrating to see her assistant spout her lies about her, even after Sam-dal was nice to her. Anyways, I think it is probably best for her to not mention the boyfriend situation just yet since it would only add fuel to the fire. We are meant to believe that the public are not in her favour at the moment so anything she says right now wouldn't be received well. In fact, who is to say the story wouldn't be twisted around, e.g. she was a horrible and mean girlfriend hence her boyfriend cheated etc. There is still plenty of time for her to fix her reputation if she wishes to return to the industry.

I still find this drama somewhat predictable, especially in the lead characters' relationship. After breaking…
I completely understand what you mean. But I think that is just all part of the genre. Most rom coms, especially slice of life, are predictable and use one or more tropes. I'm not quite sure what you were expecting from the show. From my experience, the exceptions are when they bring a serial killer storyline into the mix and I personally am not a fan of those when since it usually doesn't make sense in the context of the slice of life drama and just ruins the it. I'm personally tired of the childhood lovers trope and the love triangle trope (which is almost never really a love triangle).

Wait so who broke up with who? Ep 2 made it seem like it was different break up decisions?

It's very peculiar and funny to see Nana in a soft and funny role 🤣😅 I mean her badass side is too much…
You should watch Into The Ring. She was soft and funny in the role too.

Title The Love You Give Me Spoiler
That line that she dont have any feelings for him make no sense because first time in initial episode she told…
Lastly, I wanted to add that we've only really since how she truly feels about him when she is drunk. She is definitely good at hiding her feelings or convincing herself otherwise.

Yep, she definitely has feelings for him. In fact, I don't think she ever stopped loving him. I feel like, to her, he was always the "one who got away". She's probably hesitating now because she is afraid that it might not work out (again). She was probably devastated in the last break up and doesn’t want to feel that way again. She probably also doesn't want to overcomplicate their relationship for QuanQuan's sake. They currently have a great dynamic now as co-parents, but if they got in a romantic relationship and it didn't work out then it would affect QuanQuan the most. At least, this is how I'm justifying her actions. Remind me to never start a drama that is currently airing loll. The anticipation is killing. It's tooo much. Now it looks like we'll have to wait until next week to seem together ahhhh.

Title The Love You Give Me Spoiler
Hi j just want to ask if there is a love triangle or an annoying second female lead who tries to hurt or go after…
Ngl, after episode 5 I've mostly only watched the scenes between the ML and FL. But I'm planning on going back an watching the scenes I skipped at some point. Anyways, from what I watched there is no annoying second female lead. However, the second male lead does like the female lead, although, he hasn't really made any moves. So far, she is completely unaware. You mostly just see ML and 2ML get jealous of the interactions they both have with either the FL or her son. It's mostly light-hearted. I think the show is supposed to have three distinct couples. The second male lead does have a love interest so I think you can assume he will eventually move on from the FL. Idk, we'll see.

I just started this drama yesterday and I've completely caught up. I'm regretting watching this as it airs lolll. It was sooo much better than I was expecting. Does anyone know what the schedule is for this show? Do two episodes air per day between Mon and Thurs?

Cho Mi Yeon is really cute
Righttt! She's soo adorable, kind and charming. (Now, every time I see her on screen TWICE's alcohol free song plays in my head with her dancing to it 🤣🤣. ) I started the show for Chaewon and I'm staying for Miyeon.
I absolutely love the chemistry between all the girls. They're such a fun group to watch and the show has been getting more hilarious with each episode. Truly, each person gets an opportunity to shine.

No it didn't ;)
Idk why but I found the last two episodes to be soo emotional. I was crying for them during their "official" break-up scene.

Agreed. The ending was truly perfect. Athough, personally I don't see it as an open ending. To me it's clear that…
Pure tears of happiness for them. I'm going to miss them :((
