I can’t help wonder if they had to delete her side from the Harbin arc since the novel has some points that…
That‘s true. I wish they hadn’t cut so much. The post breakup arc should have been at least 5 episodes showing how they slowly get together again, addressing all issues and expectations etc.
The three final episodes reconciled me with this drama a bit as I could finally see SZT‘s emotions. It was beautiful to see how LN got under her skin and it was very beautiful to see them together like this, without mistrust in their eyes, without holding back. I just wished that they had addressed both their issues and flaws, and also discussed SZT‘s faults and not just make LN apologise and chase her and again (like throughout the drama) do everything for her and her company.
I want to understand that Flora was going through a lot at that point but a part of me can't help but feel like…
That’s true. I was hoping that at least in the end they would address both their flaws and that also SZT would promise him to change certain behaviour. Oh well.
The moment Luke the dog appeared after she left I knew that LN had brought him down to go with her. I don’t like SZT. I don’t feel her love for LN at all.
Luke from ep 20 (barely a few months before ep 21’s events) accused Tao that she wanted to look for other men…
You explained it very well, I understand what you mean. I just have doubts if the Luke they wrote for the drama would really lose control like this and speak like this.

Yes, that’s true but to me everything seemed already constructed then. I thought every bad word he said from about half of the drama onwards seemed constructed and didn’t fit his actions and his expressions. But I also understand that without his words there would hardly be any story to tell based on the novel, so they would have had to come up with something different which then isn’t the novel anymore.
The breakup is badly constructed. Maybe the Luke of ep1 would have reacted like this and talked to her like this, but the Luke they presented us in the drama for most episodes would never have done this. He would have comforted her and he would have told her beforehand. The whole drama doesn’t work. I‘m happy that they changed Luke from the novel and I‘m happy that they changed their relationship but they should have gone all they way and already from earlier episodes should have changed what he says and now find a different reason for their breakup.
Of course I am assuming, but reading your arguments it feels like you just like Luke a lot and don't think Flora…
I can‘t quite say, somehow I don’t find her likeable. The character is definitely not well written, and in part this is also on Sun Qian. Imo she doesn’t deliver the emotions well. I cannot see or feel her love/care for Luan Nian. She did well in Love Story in the 1970s though.
I don’t really like SZT and it’s getting worse with each episode. I get it both are flawed etc but he supports her, wants their relationship to succeed, takes the dog in, presented her to his friends, helped her grow work-wise, took care of her when she was ill … and he‘s funny in his own way. On top of that he’s extremely handsome, successful at work and rich. If he didn’t have the fits of jealousy and the no-filter situations he would be 100% perfect. Perfect people don’t exist in real life. Flora is very far from being perfect too but it seems just because she is a woman she is allowed to have flaws and issues.
I just wished that they had addressed both their issues and flaws, and also discussed SZT‘s faults and not just make LN apologise and chase her and again (like throughout the drama) do everything for her and her company.
