That’s my only gripe too. The music is really lacking. For instance Under the Power also had a goofy FL and there were several funny scenes, also other not so serious side characters and the writing was a bit over the place too, yet the entire drama felt serious because of the sad/serious score.

I really like the fact that he could put her in his pocket size-wise, it’s so cute! Usually I don’t care at all about „height difference“ but here it’s so fitting. I wouldn’t want to see a Xenia type FL here. Also her bubbly/goofybehaviour (which is only one side of her and which in part imo she adopted to be more credible as a new recruit ) is fitting: how on earth would there be chemistry between the two if she were as icy and reserved as him? They had to write it like this. Also I don’t see her as being girly- a bit goofy and boyish yes. At those times girls were completely different and being girly didn’t exist in the way it’s understood today.
At the end of the day this is a work of fiction, a romance drama foremost. Imo the romance absolutely delivers, FL and ML are both perfect in their roles.

The fights are really amazing! And I agree, giving her a whip was a good decision.

This drama is so enjoyable! The choreography of the fights is superb, the costumes, sets, visuals, colour palette… and the romance 🔥 And some parts are hilarious.
People really are too quick criticising.

I think Cheng Lei is very good looking, also his hands and forearms are handsome. Why would Chinese audiences criticise his appearance? His acting could be more nuanced and show more emotion, but overall I think he’s doing fine for the role. Let’s see how it goes later on when he starts opening up towards FL.

Only 11 episodes are out, but so far imo the romance is even way better than in PoB. In general I‘m enjoying this here much more. The choreography of the fights is on another level than almost every drama I‘ve watched so far too.
