Now in ep24 it’s only him doing things for her and for Qingzhou people. She’s with YQ helping him become the next Emperor of Xiyan, which is important I think because YQ wants peace and the border trade.
At first I was not very happy that a new arc was introduced after ep23, but MJH is just so sweet and attentive (the red fruits plant, the hairpin, what he’s doing for Qingzhou …), I’m really looking forward to the next episodes ❤️

It feels strange that the antagonist is no longer there. I don’t care for any Xiyan throne successor struggles and any new antagonists. On the other hand, there are still so many scenes between the leads that I want to see. IMO the writers should have found a way to include the final romance arc before the revenge arc finishes and the CP falls.

It’s all a question of personal preference. I’ve really been enjoying it so far. There are a few things that I would have preferred differently, but many things about this drama are great. The 2 leads are perfect and the romance delivers imo. I really enjoyed watching them growing together. The martial arts scenes are wonderful. Costumes, styling etc are really beautiful.

I don’t think at all that there was not enough time for them to develop real feelings for each other. They started already developing some kind of feelings when they were still pretending, and then, while working together, to achieve a shared goal, they developed mutual understanding, compassion for their past, and admiration, and of course deeper romantic feelings. That said, I wish the writers had balanced the cute scenes in the village with more serious toned scenes between them.
