Paytai was chosen to be Ramil companion. He can be DISMISSED as you can hear in the episode. His family is rich…
Paytai can be dismissed but he can't decide to leave. And you think that means he isn't a hostage?

I really enjoyed this episode. I missed slow burn series where we slowly see the main characters falling in love.…
I understand all of Khanin's motivations and I don't blame him at all for not really understanding Charan. He is a man that has been trained to be obedient and not to show his emotions. The few times he said anything about caring for Khanin it was a huge reach out of his comfort zone.

He is not a man that's going to be easy to get close to because of the conflict he feels between duty and love. Also he would be very slow to commit to love because of his belief that you meet your love and you are with them forever. That kiss seals the deal.

Love the way he stands on the edge of a cliff with his rival 😂(ep 4).In episode 5, it's so cringy to watch…
Khanin is not kinky at all, or at least we haven't seen any evidence that he's kinky so far. He's a not very mature 22-year-old who's been ripped out of the only homie ever knew. He's not sure whether his father's dead, he's in the Royal Palace with a bunch of people he doesn't trust except for Charan. He wants to keep the only person that he does trust near him and how can you blame him for that? The only other trustworthy person in that palace is his butler but he doesn't have the same close personal attachment to him.

Not sure that Paytai has feelings, but the cornerstone of BDSM is consent which is lacking here.
Paytai has no autonomy. And it would be hard to believe that being whipped is his kink from the way he acted while he was being beaten.

If you want to take a simple and more direct case of him having no autonomy, Ramil tells him that he isn't allowed to take a painting class and Paytai said there was nothing that should prevent him from doing that. So he didn't even have the autonomy to do something simple like that.

Then he gets into the car puts a collar around his neck while he's crying. These are not the signals that someone has consented.

If you like a kink it makes you happy. It doesn't make you cry or cower in fear.

What we've seen is abuse. There's no indication there is consent from what we've learned in this series. Just…
Not everyone here understands BDSM, or consent and abuse for that matter. And not everyone here has the same educational background.

It's a discussion board and there is no entrance exam. You get what you get. But being agreed with doesn't necessarily mean that the people agreeing with you understand the subject.

Maybe I missed, where did they say the he is a minister's son?
He's not a servant. He's a whipping boy, so a slave. Historically whipping boys were never from low class families.

Then it's irrelevant since the series isn't necessarily incorporating everything from the novel.

There is a tiny bit of BDSM but no whipping like last episode.
I've seen some of it. There are clips all over YouTube. But eventually somebody will put the whole concert on there hopefully with English subtitles.

I want to talk about the consent part which seem to be a concern of many and it’s a very valid point. like does…
What we've seen is abuse. There's no indication there is consent from what we've learned in this series. Just a poor kid getting whipped and slipping on a collar while he cried after his master told him he couldn't take a painting class.

I don't need to research BDSM. I already did that long before NuNew was even born. In fact before Zee was even born.

Years ago I was friends with this guy named Jon Jacobs who wrote a book on total power exchange in BDSM relationships…
The book is called Different Loving: The World of Sexual Dominance and Submission. He wrote it with Gloria Brame a PhD sexologist and lifestyle dominant.

It's obvious he hasn't had a say in anything. They brought him there as a whipping boy.

You can tell simply by the way Paytai had no choice to even do something simple like take a painting class.

He thought he had the authority to do that but he did not. He has no autonomy and and therefore no ability to consent to anything

No I got that you agreed with me. I just found the original post a little humorous. She seemed to think that she knew a whole lot more about it than everyone else. And my guess is there have to be a few people in this group who are actually engaged in this lifestyle.

I'm just a casual observer but I never write anything unless I've completely researched it first. It's my nature having been a science writer and medical publisher for 20 years and someone who wrote hundreds of pieces of legislation before that.

My point was that this is not BDSM this is just plain outright abuse. That boy might as well have been sold on a slave block.

And FWIW I spent a year exchanging emails with Jon before he died so I got to know a whole hell of a lot more about BDSM than I ever thought I would know.

In my real life I was a researcher and publisher in a number of fields. Medicine, politics mostly. So I have a natural curiosity when I learn about anything new and read everything I can get my hands on.

This was never my lifestyle choice but I found it intriguing and wound up doing a lot of reading.

Unfortunately even in 2025 IRL women are not completely equal, some societies they are still pretty oppressed.…
I wrote something about Master slave relationships elsewhere here. This isn't BDSM of any kind. Not even in lifestyle BDSM where there's an agreement that one will be the master and one will be the slave.

At least there you have an initial agreement and some form of consent, tenuous as it may be.

In this relationship Paytai never had any choice. He might as well have been sold as a slave on the auction block.

As far as Khanin's childhood goes, it's not like he had anything to compare it to. His dad wasn't mean of or abusive but he knew why he was there and what skills he needed to teach Khanin.

Don't forget that love is not something that is important to this royal family. You get your consort, you make some babies but love doesn't have anything to do with it. So I probably never occurred to him to concentrate on that portion of his development. It's unclear whether or not Thatdanai even has a wife himself.

Can you guys read about BDSM relationship before commenting and complaining? Why some of you acting like 10+ years…
Years ago I was friends with this guy named Jon Jacobs who wrote a book on total power exchange in BDSM relationships (and he lived the lifestyle). Even in those there is a basis of agreement that one will be the Master and one will be the slave. And this is the most extreme form of BDSM.

In this scenario there is no agreement, there is no contract. There is just control and no choice on Paytai's part. So he he has even less control than in a lifestyle Dom/slave relationship.

Anyway I think this is why most people seeing this are horrified and rightfully so.

So it's a modern aristocracy that still believes women are less than men? In the year of our lord 2025? That little…
Unfortunately even in 2025 IRL women are not completely equal, some societies they are still pretty oppressed.

I wasn't expecting anybody in TNP to have a slave. That really surprised me having never read the book. I don't find that relationship sexy or intriguing just abusive. The whipping scene made me cringe.

Khanin is like a teenage boy with hormones out of control. His entire upbringing has been geared towards giving him the skills to help his father compete for the crown of Emmaly when he grew up. He didn't have a normal dating life. He spent all his time on history and fencing and was very protected by his stepfather.

So here he is liking a man for the first time and acting like an idiot because he has no social skills when it comes to dating and he's got raging hormones in conjunction with sudden power. Hopefully he grows up.

If we're talking about Khanin's dad, which dad are we talking about? His stepdad is probably going to make an appearance in the next episode given that they have found him alive and presumably on his way to Emmaly. And his bio dad is pretty much a non-entity right now. We haven't learned much about him but I do believe he's a good guy. Doesn't seem to have the evil of Ramil's dad. Poor guy has gone from being Kon Diao's clueless but crooked father in Naughty Babe to total evil in this series. Maybe someday he'll get to play somebody who's actually a decent human.

There are a lot of genres that I like which are not fluffy at all, but I'm not a fan of violence. I don't expect there to be a ton of violence in TNP. And I wouldn't have watched GOT regardless. I've got a MAX subscription if I wanted to.

Today I've been trying to get snippets of NuNew's concert with P'Amp. There's one today and one tomorrow but I'm nowhere near Thailand so I'm hunting through YouTube videos.

I haven't read the book so I have no more knowledge than what I've seen in the series. As far as what's happened so far there is no more to discuss. The guy is a whipping boy, a slave.

And if you're looking for fluff I think you're going to get an equal measure of GOT and fluff at the very best. Although I have never seen game of thrones.

As long as someone is a slave consent cannot exist.
