this drama special is really special. I had a lot of feelings. The ending is open, yet somehow we get a vivid closure because of that hug, and I know Ki Suk understands the message well too.
After confirming my guess of who Ki-ho is (and I guessed right! haha), I suddenly want to drop this or maybe take a break and watch again when it's already finished. They cannot hide forever, so... I guess I'll just finish this after all the eps are out.
disappointed. The drama has the potential until they kill Sylvia, but then again, it's okay as the plot requires it until they kill Olivia too. So, in the end, it will be Victor and Juliana again. They give horrible endings to good people and those people who commit wrongs, they just do the 'forgive and forget, then start over again and they live happily ever after' trope.
From the writer of 'Kill Me, Heal Me,' 'Moon Embracing the Sun' and my all-time favorite 'Chicago Typewriter', here comes Twinkling Watermelon. Just like Chicago Typewriter's Carpe Diem(Seize the day), Twinkling Watermelon gave us Viva la Vida (Long live Life).
I enjoyed the roller coaster of emotions. The ending for me is already enough. Asking for another season with them as casts again is too much. Leave it as it is.
I was so excited about the 2nd season as the first one was a cliffhanger, but after watching ep.3 I couldn't continue because of Dojin's death, so I dropped it and only finished it today. I get that they killed Dojin for the plot, but still, I couldn't accept that😭.
I like how persistent those gangs are, since s1 they like blowing things up.
And Prof. Han- the moment he showed up I knew he was the villain.
There were no boring episodes or scenes.
I preferred s1 as I liked how they collaborated for each case as the first responders, and I liked the plot better, though s2 was more intense.
I wasn't able to watch this when it aired as there are a lot of good dramas around Oct-Dec 2019 and I used to work overtime back then.
I finally had a chance because after rewatching Hometown Cha-cha-cha yesterday, I decided to see all the dramas of Kim Seon Ho.
This is surprisingly good. The thriller and mystery are average. Not that intense, I didn't find myself suspecting every character as the subway ghost😅The ML&FL are one cute couple.
I get that some are annoyed by the FL as her actions are reckless, but that's because she is always alone, she has to do things on her own. She doesn't know the term "team". There was a time when she needed help but was ignored and a time where she extended help for the case, but was again ignored. So she took it all upon herself. Like the antagonist said, "It's easy when it's not about you." So I kind of understand her breakdown when she left Jin. She didn't mean to, but she had enough. It was a momentary mistake, but even if it was only momentarily because she calmed down quickly, when she realized her mistake it was already too late. Anyway, she gets better as the story goes on. Also, she is an intelligent person.
Chief Ko, I don't find the exact term for him, he's a green flag. He's a superior that subordinates can rely on, a son every mother wants and a guy that a woman dreams of being a bf. He's good whether it comes to his job or with people. I cried about his mini breakdown on the truck.
The character I hated, yes, not disliked but hated, is Lt. Ha Ma Ri. She's not fit to be a cop. She only wanted to be acknowledged by her mother. She didn't care about the victims but only out to get the culprit to get her mother's approval. ex. is the case of the serial rapist. To think that she is the first to recognize that those women are raped and understand their situation. She is rough and rude when questioning them. No wonder those victims couldn't trust the police. She judged Ryung just because of that video clip. If she watched all the CCTV clips of that day, she would see Ryung all over the subway looking for her twin. She had her prejudiced against her so she didn't help her. She thinks Ryung deserves to be tormented for what she did, but how about Jin, the victim who is still missing after 2 yrs? Even those cops in the kidnapping case are better than her. When the guardian refuses to find the victim, it is still the job of the police to look for him. She thinks she is better than them-the subway cops and metro cops.
I also like the subway cops and the hilarious Chief Gang😆 This is a good watch.
full of angst. Watch this if you are okay with a heart-wrenching story.
I stayed because of Elvis Han and Sun Yi.I stayed for the actors(since I'm a fan of both), not the characters(almost everyone is unlikeable characters) or the story.
This drama was part of my teenage years. At that time(2002) this kind of drama was popular not because of the actors but because of the plot. The leads chemistry ✅ production ✅ story ✅ Acting ✅ OST✅ What’s not to love right? This opinion was made based on the time that I watched this. Many people now, I think, specially the youngsters will rate poorly as this was 20+yrs old and to them this kind of story is very cliche. But this drama will always be a classic.
Just like Winter Sonata classics like this deserve a high rating. The story was typical of that time: memory loss, evil stepmother and stepsister, naive father, possessive SML, sick lead and an against all odds love story. But we still watch it hoping that their love will triumph in the end.
And who will forget the opening (or last) line of Song Ju? “Perhaps that person might have loved that girl more than I did, but though I say that... I’m not saying that I loved that girl any less.”
True to its genre, it was a mystery indeed. From the moment Go Hye Ran claimed that she didn't kill Kevin Lee the guessing game about the killer began, but halfway through the subtle clues that the show laid for the viewers, I think many guessed correctly that the husband, Kang Tae Wook was the killer.
The show is a gripping one. I found myself wanting to finish the entire 16 episodes in one sitting.(though it's impossible, right?)
How the show put it together with the past of Go Hye Ran (the murder in her teenage years, and her relationship with Kevin Lee), the supposed affair, the murder case, her job, her rocky marriage and politics was brilliant, so there are no irrelevant scenes.
At first, I did not like how cold she was, but I ended up rooting for her as I got to know where she was coming from.
I don't know, but even in Nevertheless, I rooted more for the second male lead(Mr. Potato) and Nabi to be endgame.

tsk tsk just when our SML, who gives major SLS, finally becomes the ML we got another 2nd ML that we secretly root for, but I will not be swayed haha

A masterpiece. Viva La Vida.

Since it's Makjang, I didn't really have high expectations of the plot and the characters. It's makjang, right?
and Yoo Ri is really good.

Kim Kang Woo and Cho Yeo Jung tandem is surely captivating.
KKW be it a protagonist or antagonist role he always serves. CYJ is also good. I like the character she portrayed here.
The first episodes are gripping until they become predictable and some may find them draggy but still a good watch.
