As you've said, the Sui general underestimated Changyu and let down his defence. She was trashed by him but she still managed to strike him back with his own weapon.

There's no error in the subs for the two scenes you mentioned above.
A Ji ge is Guan Jia 官家 (Emperor in Song Dynasty being addressed as Guan Jia instead of Wang Shang 王上
In Ep. 23, Crown Prince or rather Heir Prince did address A Ji Ge as Fu Wang 父王/ Father King.
Then in Ep. 24, the Guan JIa did lament that "so what if I have almighty power, Elder brother has no sons (皇兄无子).... Here, he was referring to himself, since he's like older brother to Xi Meng.
Really don't know why he said those 4 words. Maybe he's wishing he has no son (who exposed his identity in the secret chamber).... wishing if he's seen the real world earlier and then XM's brother would not have been killed....
In Ep. 12 when XM asked him if he has a family, he told XM that he kinda have one, hard to describe the relationship...He has an elder brother, his fa... "likes my elder brother than me...." This part is unclear.
Anyway, I felt that not all subs are wrong. The subs can't be clear when what's spoken aren't even clear!!!

I don't usually check out cast list until i find a character looking somewhat familiar but just couldn't figure out where I've seen him/her before. His face here isn't so lean and longish, and the white/grey and carefully styled hair, and that aura (before he starts behaving so cruelly evil !!)
