No shade on Chen Xiao but I think the actor could have done at least as good a job, possibly better as Yun Xiang.
After 36 episodes, I came to realised…… his character as in the YX character is a very difficult one to pull off because of how it’s so multi-dimensional…. It’s not just being an awesome strategist and uber smart…. The novel/screenwriter also put in a lot of emotional bits….. and the emotional bits are not meant to be ‘straight-forward’. Love and the struggle with having no love etc. Towards the end esp after they revealed who the YunTai master is, I also questioned if Chen Xiao could pull it off….
Glad they brought JB back and YX now has a whole plethora of sworn brothers; JB, SMY, and LGC. My girl SYN cut…
LOL, ah I didn’t read the subtitles then. Was just focused on listening to wot she said. Wot a perfect noun to describe him!!
Yes, I really couldn’t put my finger to it…. Just he defo made a strong impression when he first appeared. Coz I was thinking, why does he have this weird vibe, coz if you look objectively at his face he really doesn’t look feminine at all. But just the way he carries himself, the way he walks, the way he speaks etc….. it was more of that I think.
yes, it turned as a happy ending on the last 5seconds 😉
Wasn’t so much that actually… was the way the thing was kinda…. Uh… sudden. 🤣 like how they very intentionally didn’t even give a shot/scene with both of them in-frame. It was so abrupt that I actually laughed when the closing credits rolled.

LOL! I was actually quite uh…. Taken aback. Coz I really felt it was a bit….. abrupt… 🤣 and I actually laughed when the credits rolled coz I didn’t notice the timer bar at the bottom.
I am about half way the 1st ep, does the ML know how to fight? I am not sure about watching a ML who doesn't know…
He doesn’t, it actually kinda suits him (as in Chen Xiao). He can’t but there are a lot of pretty good fight scenes throughout the drama. His character is a strategist…. Basically like ZhuGe Liang….

Lol. I loved her dialogue right before she did it, something like “it’s difficult to tell whether you are Yin or Yang on typical days anyways….” That is SOOOO true. 🤣🤣🤣 Lol, the first time the actor appeared in screen I was like…. He has an….. underlying feminine aura…. 🤔 sucha unique vibe….

Lol, have to say I was still shocked with that…. As much as it is typical for xianxias…. This was wuxia and I thought they’d give us like a minute…. Or maybe 5… lol… 🤣🤣🤣
They finally decided to consistently sub this….. over the moon… this is so good!! So meaningful and insightful.. I always gain more wisdom after watching an episode.👏🏻
Kudos to the production team for being so fluid and reactive in changing the format of the original season…. Til the found the ‘right’ balance and format.
This actually surprised me, I found it good/enjoyable although I generally despise war movies…. The way they weaved the romance bit into actual history deserves some praise.
It makes it plausible, believable as much as it was just a fictional account. The romance was depicted quite naturally, without really overshadowing the war/gore/history..
Hmmmm I'm undecided on this. First 4 eps were just okay...not sure if I'll carry on
I had the same dilemma. The problem lies with the first 4-5 episodes, which is a lot considering it’s only 12 episodes. The story only really starts around episode 5-6. I spse that is also why the rating is really low because most people drop it by then.
The ‘serious’ side of the plot is actually really good, I wished they gave that the primary focus from the start. I don’t really know why the first 4-5 episodes had an eccentric focus/theme…. Which kinda was………. Ok….? It came off a little odd… I kinda forgot about this drama actually.. I just continued it casually/for fun.
Off topic of plot, but did anyone else notice the child actor from TLB and TBW here too? He's really growing into…
I did! 🙋🏼♀️ but I also noticed a lot of child actors growing up ‘exponentially’ in the past 2 yrs. Probably the difference between filming vs airing/release time…? Anyways, damns, kids really change so much every yr.
