WJG = most 拖泥带水 character ever that I’ve came across. 🤦🏻♀️ wot MX said to him in Ep 37 is totally spot on….
Am glad that they added 2 extra episodes to the novel…. The ending of the novel was just too…….. 😒 totally lacks closure and was super abrupt not to mention unreasonably depressing… although the 2 episodes were slightly rushed and there are gaps here and there but it made so much more sense and provided closure to all the characters esp the antagonists….
Think this should have been modern Chinese literature material….. not even kidding.,,, they should make students take notes and learn lessons….
Love the female self-love… the very steady unwavering self-love… that is probably a lesson which no other drama has replicated…. I want to be Wei Ying Luo too! 🤭
There are so many other life lessons worth learning albeit all the drama….
That's been my favourite thing about this drama is the relationship between the 2 brothers - Everything else has…
Right.. I always scale back my expectations for modern C-dramas. I kinda enjoy this one…. I’m actually more interested in the business theme… curious to see if that has any depth… defo going to wait until it completes airing, too many things could go wrong with 38 episodes.
A friend of mine said the same that his projects r getting shelved a lot. Do you know the reason why?
Haha. I get the many episodes concern… I don’t have that many too, handful… less than 10. Maybe around 5-6 which I truly believe really require that many episodes…. 🤔 I still think K- dramas have the perfect average ‘formula’… 16 hours… which makes up to about 32 episodes for C-drama.

Haha, it’s quite cute and realistic actually. Even the 2nd brother also cares for him, but more of spoiling him which I don’t think is healthy… I like everything so far on the MDL relativity of about 8.5… will have to see how it develops. 38 episodes are kinda long,

I love horror!! 🤣🤣🤣 fantasy… paranormal etc. my favourite. Hahahah. I love legal, medical, forensic etc as well. 😝hence why I said I also have a very wide genre.
Lol, yea, I can like an actor or actress but a bad drama and/or a bad plot is just downright difficult to accept… lol. I will attempt but probably also need to drop when it’s required. And to be really fair…. A lot of C-dramas develop oddly because it’s so lengthy.
Thts definitely gonna be frustrating if last fight isn't good, btw how many kiss scenes here, 😂🤔
Yea, even on MDL… I noticed some of the comments regarding age etc is so…. Uh…. Explicit, extreme and biased, it really surprises me. But I didn’t notice any of them in The Long Ballad, so the production team succeeded in avoiding skinship… but for some C-dramas it’s seriously superbly crazy.

Lol, my standards are too low when it comes to this but I get wot you mean… I personally don’t have any baby voiced female friends for example… yes. I would think that I’m usually not exposed to them… I watch a wide variety and weird genres as well, but there are a few genres I avoid, namely, youth, war, comedy….. Haha, hi-5 🙌🏻 we dropped and did not watch the same thing.

I personally think it’s a combination of those 2 factors we talked about and also it’s a specific Mainland thing. For example I don’t think they would have avoided skinship to that extent if it was a 30 yr old dude and a 38 yr old lady. It’s never an issue discussed in Korean dramas…. But it becomes sucha big deal in C-dramas. Yea, like you rightly mentioned, it’s also a generational thing on top of a culture thing.

It wasn’t a small gap although they were very compatible physically. She was like 8 yrs older than him, even I was surprised because honestly I didn’t notice it and I don’t think it’s a big deal. But because the absence of the skinship was too obvious so I went to check it out. The bird scene just totally confirmed it. 🤣🤣🤣

Ah, you didn’t watch this series? I thought you did, my bad. Oh… it was bad coz you can literally tell the production quality dropped towards the end esp the last Ep. So they just did everything so casually and it look like they didn’t care anymore. The most obvious was from the last fight scene… it was literally like a computer game, like Street Fighters… not even kidding… when at the start it was praised for having solid fight scenes.
Second point which most people hated was coz they did a whole melodrama thing towards the end, so it was more of a bittersweet ending…. And death of characters… when initially it started being quite comedic and filled with banters between the leads. I didn’t mind this actually as much as it was pretty dramatic.

No, I think it was the combination of both factors. Think when they were just shooting it Leo Wu just turned 21, or he hasn’t turned 21… something like that. Probably would have been totally glossed over if they BOTH weren’t such popular celebs with massive Weibo following…

Oh totally don’t mind the slow burn, it’s not that. Do you remember the ONLY kiss scene in the drama was when they overlaid it with a pair of birds….? 🤣🤣🤣 I thought that was veryyyy funny…. Kinda cute… lol, but it was mostly because of Leo Wu apparently and his age gap with Dilraba.
