The thing is this novel is 10 year old and at that time, it was the peak of this genre. It's basically considered the best novel in this type of genre. Ofc now some part of it is outdated & might even be considered problematic so I hope drama changes few things. Ik novel fans are really scary and don't want any change cuz they consider this a masterpiece but I think it's better to make those few changes cuz it might not sit well with current drama audience. And I want to add this is why some say that this is more female oriented novel (for fangirls ). Xjx is a tool character but he is also written in a way that he becomes fav of many like a idol romance drama. I will still recommend you to try it when it comes out. It's a very good novel even though not perfect & maybe the drama might even be better. There will still be a lot of focus on sm & her revenge (mostly about her) and she is also smart and savage. But xjx is basically kinda her alley so together they are a team

I think because novel fans are really scary, drama team would be foolish to butcher the whole plot when it's so successful & popular. Whd fans also don't want any huge changes because the hate will go to the actors. Ofc due to censorship, we won't get copy pasted adaptation & there are bound to be some changes but as long as main storyline is faithful that's already way better than other adaptations

I think for first 100 chapters, his role wasn't big and he has his own arcs/storyline too which is just described in few lines in the novel but in the drama, we might see those parts a bit expanded so he might appear a bit sooner in the drama. However it will remain sm revenge story for the most part. From the reuters, we can see that they are following the novel very closely & in fact a big xjx highlight at the end is given to sm in the drama because it is her story so the changes actually makes the drama more "female centric" at certain places so far from what I know. Novel fans might not like the change though but I feel novel gave xjx many highlights by helping her out but drama change is nice & I like it. Idk if you know but even though sm has 70% screentime in the novel, xjx is 10 times more popular character in the novel & fan favorite so when people call this "female centric" I laugh cuz I feel while story is hers, he is the fan favorite despite low screentime & has many crazy dream fangirls. The type of character who appears rarely but when he does, you will love him saving the day. I just feel when the drama airs, people will twist this and blame the actor for changing the script & making himself so cool when novel is written this way where he rescues her many times

It is about to wrap up so I hope xinli release that first trailer like they do for their other dramas after the wrap up. I remember we saw first guardians of the dafeng trailer pretty soon after the wrap up

Xjx is supposed to be young marquis?? when whd was casted, most were complaining that he doesn't have boyish vibes which xjx possessed and here you are saying opposite. Cnetz eventually switched tho when they saw the reuters & saw boyish vibes they all desperately wanted

idk if you have read the novel but xjx is supposed to save sm multiple times in the story. His character is basically helping her out in her revenge and removing any obstacles in her way so don't blame the drama when so called "female centric" novel is written this way

From the reuters so far, they have been quite faithful except few changes but those changes makes the plot better I feel (order of some events is different) & a big xjx highlight is given to shen miao instead cuz it is her story. Honestly it's a shame that people were spreading lies that this will turn into male centric when drama team so far is shooting most novel scenes & changed only some problematic parts

Main eps are available for free and I also watched on iqiyi.Check again and you will see some videos don't have vip with ep number like ep 3 (part 1) then ep 3 (part 2) & ep 3 (part 3) then some vip content in middle and you will see ep 4 videos too (divided into parts).Total are 14 eps (most divided into parts). But you can't watch many extra content

Really loving this drama but I am kinda disappointed with ep 8 conclusion. I feel mom deserved way more punishment for child abuse and harming her son

try till ep 9 (that was a legendary ep). I was about to quit this 6 eps in but my friend pushed me to continue & ep 9-10 were so peak that I ended up binge watching & it is now one of my most fav romance dramas out there

Alot of things people attack him for are sooo misleading & maliciously edited. He is a controversial personality so I get not everyone will like him but what upsets me is when people bravely lie about him because they dislike him. His acting is good here no doubt & I am glad you enjoyed it
