8/10 The cast are excellent. I can't really fault anybody. It's always a pleasure to see Jung Jin-Young, one of…
Yes! You're generally more positive on this drama than I am (didn't hate it, didn't love it) but we are totally on the same page about Hyun Jyu Ni and Park Jin-joo. Jyu Ni's work as Cha Min Soo was, I felt, the most memorable performance/character from the show. I found her strangely appealing and interesting and would love to see Ms. Hyun get a lead role some time.
As for Park Jin-joo, I HIGHLY recommend looking her up on Instagram. Her account is even more adorable than all the millions of "puppies and kittens" accounts out there, if you ask me. She's seriously the cutest human being on the planet. She'd make a really intriguing love interest for a drama.
No matter what way you look at him, she was so wrong in divorcing him, if I were him, I'd never take her back,…
He was responsible to provide for them and he failed that responsibility. Not only that, but he quit his job, their only means of income, without even consulting her. Beyond that, he was completely clueless as to her struggles and everything he was putting her through, which tells us that he was inattentive (he didn't even know she was pregnant and had a miscarriage). She was still awful to him, yes, you're right about that. But he's not blameless. Not even close.
Just watched this for the 2nd time, as much as I want to hate Ahn Hee Sun, I can't, don't ask me why I can't because…
What's up Blademan? Good to see you in another comment section. I found your remark "I can't dig a hole fast enough to bury her" extremely funny and witty for some reason. :P
From your other comments, I can see you are Lee Min Jung fan. I recently started watching "Cunning Single Lady" and kinda sorta fell in love with Lee Min Jung myself. There's something about her eyes. Anyways, I already put Midas on my list (Lee Min Jung AND Jang Hyuk in the same show? Yes please!) and I was thinking of adding this one as well. You think I should?
It's strange how no one ever talks about the villain. I feel like I have to defend him even though I liked Sejong…
You should check the Spoiler box on that post.
Anyways, you're right again, but I still think Ga Ri On's actions were the actions of a villain: his answer to all of his problems is "kill people." The ONLY thing holding him back from killing Sejong was the fact that he was a king, and none of Hidden Root wanted to go that far. I mean, we're talking about a guy who is ordering the execution of children. The dude's evil, man.
First time I watched it I really liked it. But now the second time, smth really bothers me. I hate how pathetic…
IDK about any chauvinism, but I agree with you about Song Yi being an awesome female lead. I love how well she knows herself.
One of my favorite scenes in ANY kdrama....
Song Yi: "I was wondering if I should take this role..."
Hui Kyung: "What sort of role is it?"
SY: "Well... it's basically this girl with a horrible personality..."
HK: *sincerely* "Oh, that would be perfect for you."
SY: "I know, right!?"
Song Yi is not ashamed of who she is and I really like that. Because she knows herself, is happy with herself, but is not above tweaking a few things about herself to make others happy, it comes off as charming and wonderful rather than stubborn and bratty.
Is there, by any chance, any drama where Kim Min Seo plays a character who just smiles all the time? She barely smiled in Good Doctor, but when she did, oh my goodness, it was amazing. Would like to see more smiles from her. Recommendations, anyone?

Nah. Ga Ri On was definitely a villain, through and through. He may have had a somewhat-legitimate point, but he was still an evil and horrible human being. Sejong wasn't out there killing everyone who disagreed with his views. Ga Ri On was, which is why he is the villain and needed to be stopped.
Lee Min Jung is something special.
