Can we have more MaxNat (Dew-Blue) please??? The duo's adorable. SMH What a waste. And they even have their own separate book. Why aren't they getting any spotlight -.-
I haven't read any webtoons so I can only comment based on the adaptations.
I'm a fan of the Rugal show. It's so unrestricted, I'm loving the usage of brutality in it.
On the other hand, Memorist was upsettingly disappointing. Formulaic and tedious. Not to mention the MC's lack of rational thinking bothered me. It was reminiscent of Catch the Ghost, just with a gender reverse.
The plot summary sounds like there will be a triangle/square though, but I'm really hoping is the LOW-KEY kind…
I'm lowkey hoping Song Jong Ho gets the girl. But I'm highkey hoping that if Son Ho Jun's the lead, let there not be any stupid love square/pentagon/hexagon as well.
Agreed. Any harem or reverse harem makes the lead character come off as disloyal, indecisive moron who can't stay loyal to the one he/she loves and is constantly hesitating between many prospect.
And exactly should not get that typical jealous woman role. She's capable of more and should be paired with Koo Ja Sung from the get go.
actually in dramas the good girl always gets the guy, the bitchy girl is usually the second lead
Not in every Kdrama. There are a few Kdramas where the main girl deserve some slaps. Like Cinderella's Stepsister. It's also a common trope in Makjang.
I'm slapping some people if this has some shitty love story like in the previous with YHM and SJH.
I hope it's SJH-Jo Woo Ri. Why can't Kdrama, at least the mini-series, have multiple main couples. It's such a rarity smh
On another note, in the Fairy Woodcutter drama I ended up shipping the two guys together because both of them had better chemistry with each other than the female lead.
The Wailing is a great movie indeed, definitely better than Gonjiam, but also a lot more popular. I disagree that…
That's fair enough.
Ah yes. Arthouse isn't everyone's cup of tea so KKD definitely has a disadvantage there.
No pressure there! I'd recommend 3 Iron and The Bow though, they're two of the best works he has done. Although they're both arthouse through and through, dialogues are minimal to non-existent lol

My problem with Gonjiam lies with how incredibly formulaic it is and how mediocre the exposition was. IDK, from a perspective of someone who often watches Horror films, Gonjiam was just not worth watching imo. Other horror fans might feel the same. It was basically Grave Encounters for me, just a lot worse and a lot less surprising. The supposed jumpscares were there just when I expected, so there was zero shock factor. People who don't watch horror often may like it though.
Kim Ki Duk sadly seems to be overshadowed by Park Chan Wook and especially Bong Joon Ho now. His movies often go unnoticed by the mainstream audience. It's so sad >:(
Gongjiam Haunted Asylum has zero scares, no character development, there's no substance in it really. It's even less scary than the Blair Witch sequel. Not recommended if you're an avid horror fan like me.
Instead I'd highly recommend the Wailing. One of the best horror movies to come out of SK. A really good cast, excellent writing, lots of symbolism and biblical references. It's for any horror lover out there.
My recommendation would be the Bow. It's one of the hidden masterpieces of Kim Ki Duk. A surreal experience with incredibly thought out symbolism. It's often overshadowed by his other movies, which is a crime tbh
I cried over the lack of Yang Meng and You Qi as well. The novel does injustice to them! I expected them to develop…
They really didn't. In fact there's barely any Yang Meng-You Qi interaction in S1! And even in the books.
I actually thought that in reverse. My thinking was Yang Meng was secretly in loving with You Qi that's why he kept popping up everywhere around him. But alas, wishful thinking...
It's not gonna have the same cast. The new adaptation is a Taiwanese one, so they'll have Taiwanese actors. Which…
I actually think some Taiwanese dramas are done well, whereas others are meh. But they do intimate moments and the chemistry justice. But yeah, my main fear rn is how the narration is done.
Downplay... they could like make it just makeout or something instead of full fledged rape? I just hope they do not portray it as rape like in the book. That scene almost made me drop the book ngl But I'm glad I didn't.
New script? Hmm I didn't know about that. I've no idea how it'll go then. I hope they don't change the major elements of the story.
Bittersweet news on Addicted 2. Apparently Chai Jidan confirmed that there would be a season 2 for Addicted but…
Yeah it was confirmed many months ago (the translator of Advance Bravely confirmed it last year). Sadly after the announcement and confirmation by Chai Ji Dan, there's almost no chatter about it. So I fear it may have been cancelled.

It is close to the novel but at the same time they cut up a lot of scenes and changed them IIRC (I forgot the show ngl so I'm not privy to the details but I do recall being disappointed with the changes). Either way what I meant was, the intimate moments present in the novel will be more apparent in the Taiwanese version because they always go the extra mile in showcasing them unlike Chinese BLs which are often censored romance. So if they go past the appearance of BLY's ex, there'll be some steamy moments (although I hope they'll skip that one very, ridiculously despicable act that GH does) as well, which would be impossible in the Chinese version because China.

Either way, I'll be looking forward to it. BLs are my food anyway XD
Ok yes, fellatio may work too lol
