Right lol this is so bad for diplomatic relations - like man is risking a full blown WAR over this show of pride.…
That's certainly true given their history haha

Actually, this was normal for rival states to engage in martial competition and such during this kind of event. Some for entertainment, some for displaying dominance and psychological warfare.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
Yes she is, and while she's super annoying due to her obsession with MXY, she didn't amount to anything.
She produces a lot of dust in the novel for sure. But doesn't affect the main leads that much.

But no divorce and stuff in the novel as well.

This Lei Tengfeng is such an ass Yeah, the fight scenes at the end are fire but bro is getting WAY too comfortable…
It surely is personal. Da Chu, specifically MXY, killed his father after all. xD

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
Why would a princess attendant betrothed to a prince did i hear it wrong or the princess is actually betrothed…
You got two different characters mixed up.

Princess is here for marriage alliance.

Her maid, Su Zuidie, is previously from Da Chu and was betrothed to MXY before.

Was this Princess of Cangbei side story really needed ? I mean the lead couple already have a lot on their plate…
I think it does because this brings the politics from local to crossborder.

Yes, drama's plot and characters are indeed more unique.

Personally, after starting the drama, I even thanked the director and writer for changing it this way. It surely is a rare experience in drama space.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
I am referring to consort Qin's and ED's conversation in ep. 20. When ED asked Qin what was she worried about…
I'm liking this dynamics. It's becoming more visible that their alliance is teetering on the edge. It's interesting to see who'll break first, and how it'll change the board.

I'm particularly interested in what Qin is hiding. She's the wild card among the trio.

Ye Li is completely different. In the novel, she's a transmigrator from the modern world and she was a special force soldier. She is a master of CQC and introduces modern military doctorine to ancient world. No psychological illnes or anything.

MXY kinda the same in terms of character - cold, calculating and loves his wife a lot. He's someone you would label as a male yandere. Dude got no chill when it comes to Ye Li. But novel version is several times more powerful than the drama version. Dude is like within top 5 in the entire martial world and command millions of soldiers.

The Xu family (Ye Li's maternal family, the Linshan Academy people) plays a huge part in the story.

There are several differences in characters as well, like Mo Jingli, the Emperor, etc.

Plot wise, since there is no Linshan Academy mystery, it focuses more on the politics and wars.

Hope this helps you.

I need someone to do me a comparison between the drama and the novel so bad!! i have been seeing reviews some…
Yes, the drama is indeed more "wild" with its characters, especially Ye Li and the mysteries surrounding her.

The novel, of course, is much bigger in scale—with a larger ensemble, bigger fights, grander schemes, and full-scale wars.

The relationship between the main leads is more or less the same in spirit; they have a fantastic relationship in the novel as well.

The novel has the natural advantage of text, allowing the author's and the reader's imaginations to run completely wild. The novel is as a grand epic of love and conquest, albeit with a fairly straightforward narrative style. On the other hand, the drama's pacing is much tighter, and the characters feel more distinct and unique.

I personally love both because they offer entirely different types of entertainment.

I need your opinions, guys. So far, until today's episodes, do you think Moli is a great drama? Like the pace…
Drama is all around very very well made, interesting story, good pacing, and very well crafted characters.

Since you mentioned relationship and kissing scenes, I would like to emphasize it. Relationship development and romance is very natural and warm. Kisses may not be 'hot' hot in comparison against other idol dramas, but they are so beautiful and meaningful. We are talking about a really good slow-burn romance here.

Since you already like the leads, it should be easy for you to get into.

And Tinglan, I kept thinking this name was familiar, and I wondered who she was and what her role in the novel…
Oh... then Hua Tinglan then? Totally forgot the Empress's name.

Make sense since the Emperor was changed.

Qin Cang is Marquis Muyang's son. But is it explicitly said that Qin Cang is his son with Qin Zheng? Yeah same…
I don't remember any hints about it being mentioned in the drama though.

Oh, this is Princess Lingyun of the Western Ling Emperor. Skilled in archery and martial arts, beautiful, graceful,…
Seems they changed the entire Su Zuide plot as well. Let's see in next episodes.

What if Ye Li's hallucination is her act???😅
I think Qing Shuang is a legit disorder. Master Zhu... previously sure, but now not so much. Let's see how the show will go about it.
