My personal take is that Jadewind is more about the story behind each case, rather than the technicality of case solving. That's the biggest impression left on me after each case.

I think the husband's family generally hold majority of the control over the wife, unless the wife's natal family is very much stronger than the husband's family. Even then, there is the culture of 'saving face', so I guess this kind of dispute rarely go to court.

This drama is really going through all the plights a woman may face. The latest case is so messed up and sad to watch as well. All the power to grandpa.

People are built differently after all. There are lots and lots of people who chose the easy way out. Just because some can live through their guilt, stress, and mental issues doesn't mean others similarly can. Can we blame them?

I'm really enjoying that the closure of all the cases are not some 'perfect' outcomes where things are black and white. Instead, they are somewhere in the grey area yet still grounded to reality, leaving the viewers with much to think.

The latest case is quite simple on paper, but you gotta get into her perspective to really get why she did what she did. Love how the drama is handling these cases.

If you are good with sad ending, One & Only is one of Bailu's best performances I would say. Totally worth checking out.

Gotta appreciate that the subtle humours and bromance/romance were done tastefully without breaking the atmosphere of the main plot.

Peiyi in her sickbed looking forward to Xiao Huaijin's visit gotta be the sweetest thing I've seen today. So much more endearing than it normally should be due to her character. Loved it.
