Can anyone explain who is Consort Dowager and what is her relation with Empress Dowager and the Emperor? I thought…
Consort Dowager is a Consort of the former Emperor.
Her relationship with Empress Dowager? They shared a husband? xD
Empress Dowager and Consort Dowager doesn't necessarily have to be at odd. If they are not politically against at each other, they can live in harmony. In this drama, Consort Dowager had a very close relationship with the current Empress Dowager since their days during the former Emperor's regin. Even now she's helping the Empress Dowager out, so it's not surprising that they are close.
I’m not watching the drama but I’m following everything about it..can someone answer me..the legs are his…
Things are not that black and white in the story, pretty complex in fact.
He initially didn't want to because he was afraid of being disappointed again and had given up on it. If he really didn't want to get better, he could have chosen not to budge, no matter what tricks she pulled. Since he ultimately accepted it, that implies he wants to deep down. There are many scenes prior to depict his state of mind as well.
She's not well herself and most likely she's not aware of it either. So, it's a case of both of them healing each other.
How is the drama going so far?? Is it worth it?? I mean it's cheng li and bailu i know it would be good but if…
So far, this drama is top quality all around, not just the star power of the leads. It's genuinely good.
Intriguing story, excellent pacing, really unique characters, banger OST, tasteful production and directing choices.... there are just soo many things to love here.
One thing I've come to term during my long term c-novel reading is that a novel at the scale of 'Sheng Shi Di…
Take your time and come back when you feel like it. So far, this drama is totally worth it.
The world we imagine from these books can be quite grand and expansive, isn't it? That's exactly why we read as well.
But, when it comes to dramas, there are so many 'stupid & lazy' book-to-drama adaptations out there, so we're better off keeping our expectations in check. 😂
I can't help but praise the pacing. Even in these reprieve episodes, the tempo doesn't grind to a halt. There are so many things still happening and setting up for the next arc without intruding on the relaxed atmosphere.
Oftentimes, when a drama enters its downtime, they pivot 100% to fluff and comedy. I understand the need for it and also enjoy it to an extent, but when it kills the tempo, it just sucks.
With TFJ, it's just perfect so far. Please keep it up till the end. 🙏
I'm so confused about ghost spirit thing. Like even if a maid appointed by Ye Li was there singing and playing…
Because that's Ye Li's scheme.
Do you remember in ep 11 where Ye Li's stepmom was meeting up with her ex? Guard Li caught them in the act and asked the stepmom to do something for him.
We can assume there that he coerced the stepmom off screen into playing a role in Ye Li's scheme. Fast foward to ep 15, that's what Guard Li asked her to do.
No kidding — this director has a whole lineup of major hits under her belt, from Legend of the Condor Heroes…
Which is why I think TFJ’s story turned out the way it did. She has the leverage and negotiation power to protect her storytelling with the producers and investors.
I'm at episode 8 and struggling to continue. Having read the novel, I'm not reconciled with this version of events.…
One thing I've come to term during my long term c-novel reading is that a novel at the scale of 'Sheng Shi Di Fei' will never work in a 1:1 adaptation into a drama, unless it's broken down into multiple 40-episodes seasons, which will not happen at all in today's drama market.
So, while I loved the novel so much, I already braced myself for the potential changes. The worst thing that could happen is a sloppy adaptation which cut stuff here and there just to fit into 40-epi length without regards for the logic and continuity, which thankful is not the case here.
My heart would break even more if it was adapated sloppily, the characters I love were given harsh criticisms, and the drama is forgotten once the airing is finished. So, I'm thoroughly satisfied with the current state of things.
This is just me though, basically how I cope with the inevitable changes happen with every adaptations.

Turns out she didn't want him to keep thanking her, so she shut him up. haha

I'm almost sure you haven't watched this, at least not with a normal viewer's eyes who are here to find out what the drama offers.
Get out MJL, you've always been in the friend zone!
Since that edict was lost, Prince Ding's return to capital 'without summon' became a treason charge.
Ah, I really want the rearranged instrumental version of 'See happiness'. Love how atmoshperic it is during the scenes.
