This show doesn't try to be too mysterious with its suspects and the potential ending of the cases. The real stuff is in 'how to get there' - in the investigation and the twists and turn along the way.

For a detective story, it's good so far. 2 out of 7 cases finished today and both cases got satisfactory closures. Drama hit 10k heat index today as well. If you like such story, give it a try may be.

He's pretty sus from the beginning. This drama is more like it doesn't care about giving away some suspects as the mystery is in 'how to get there'.

A bit of a side note. To be context appropriate, many translators translate '1 shichen' to '2 (modern) hours'.
But, you may sometimes come across a literal translation of '1 shichen = 1 hour' as well. (personally, I think it's because of machine translation)

Both mean the same thing, so you are good if you know the context.

The haircombing scenes gotta be the best scene of second case. So powerful and poignant. That was the least expected conclusion to the case as well. Loved it!

I actually like how the second case is going. Here they are heading into the center of a political whirlpool, of course things will be muddy. If the investigators are omnipotent and can solve everything instantly, there's no fun in it for me.

Not working for. It's 15 years since then. I assume she's still just a kid when the incident occured, and joined the Investigation Burea once she can.

It does become so much better after ep3.

Ep 5 and 6 were quite good. I was seated for the whole investigation.

This drama clicked with me only after ep3. The characters were a bit bland up until that point (not the actors' fault, I get they have to work with what they were given).

The drama is beautiful though, gotta give it to that. Cases so far were okay I guess, and they move quite fast as well. For the upcoming episoes, I hope we get to see more personality development in the characters.

Half way through the novel now. It's an interesting story so far with complex characters. Nan Yi is such an atypical FL. Eager to see LYX's portrayal.

It's a pretty slow story. The main cast has just finished assembling. ML is still a half grown kid, and can be annoying at times. He's lazy, loud, unambitious, and FL has nothing but patience for him (since she's older than him). Guess I'll need to read further for the main plot to really progress.

For now, I have temporarily paused there, and instead reading Why Not Sail Together (Drama: Dancing With The Tide).

Sort of yes, but very brief. It was done well, so not annoying like some of the dramas out there.

tbh, there are a lot of good kiss scenes in this drama, each with distinct flavor.
