2025 really was the year of toxic BLs...Oh well. Here I am watching yet another one...
I know they don't have the same concerns as a hetero reproductive couple, and there's still places in the world where cousins even marry... objectively I can compartmentalize this... but it did make me delay watching this for a while…
I generally don’t like dropping what I’ve started, so I saw it through to the end, but I’m not sure what I just watched… The leads were intimately cute in the last two episodes, I’ll give them that. But seriously, why was this made? And what would another season be building on?
They wrapped the story up beautifully; no complaints, only praise for the cast and production team. I'll most likely re-watch this to catch acting and scene nuances I might have missed while trying to watch, listen & read CC at the same time.
I plan to read the novel now that it's over. I find that i enjoy watching then reading - less expectations disappointed. Rather I'll get to experience their world for a while longer.
Well... this series was a real rollercoaster ride of the art of manipulation, of letting go... of growth... of…
Exacrly this - copy & paste. Even by ep14 i couldn't really say i was rooting for them (though i definitely enjoyed watching their push & pull), but ep15 helped me get there.
Fair enough. I too struggled to get past the first epiaode for months, when i finally got into it, i thought it was worth it. Hope you've found something else to enjoy :)
I haven't read the novel(s?) I've been distressed about FX, the sociopathic busybody/stalker disguised as an obsessed love interest, so i took a break before binging ep 8 to ep 14. They portrayed the extreme feelings so well...omg. Fabulous storytelling! Though somewhere in there was an unexplained time jump... I was surprised by tian tian's age.
I love that they took a realistic approach to YSL's reaction, because honestly, as an adult, it's too hard to romanticize FX's brand of crazy.
All of that said, toxic love tends to be extremely passionate and addictive, so of course watching it would have the same effect. Ep14 was chef's kiss - the realest their love has ever been. I can't say I'm rooting for them, but i am sat to see how they conclude this... i can accept any ending at this point, that's how well this story has been told. Kudos to the actors for bringing the characters to life so well!
I'm beyond that now on Ep11
Be still my fluttering heart… they’re so real with each other… ughhh such a sugar rush 😍
Grateful to the cast & crew for this icing on the cake.

I'm just here browsing TCS, taking in everyone's reactions, because i can't articulate my own yet
