Series reminded me of those HIStory series where I know there's lots of shouting around and angsty acting. Which is why I'm a bit wary of watching this. Injured gangster taking a medical student in a blackmail and hostage situation after he had saved his life. How grateful huh? I guess ZongYi will fall in love with his captor ZeRui in a stockholm syndrome fate? And then gradually the captor becomes domestic with his victim after 10 days of hostage situation. Even making lunch for him. Okay, I guess that's romantic for some people? ZongYi deserves to be angry because I would be if I'm being blackmailed in this situation. Throw in some past family traumas with fear of rain, darkness and lightning. ZeRui comforts him. Redemption arc? Character development? Oh dear, I wonder what other tropes the next episode will bring. But I'm here for the eye candies.
It is 2023, there is no need to hide in a loveless marriage. Much less an arranged fake heterosexual marriage, especially in an open society like Thailand which have been accepting all kinds of people. Gays have more choices and some may not even want gay marriages either.
Although gay marriage is still not recognized there, I personally do have gay friends in Thailand who are “married” with kids via surrogate with another lesbian couple. And their families knew all about it. Yes, there are actual gay families in Thailand. As long as their parents are busy with the grandkids, they are living together happily, running their businesses and just waiting for their government to catch up.
I'm annoyed with Yiwa. She is actually gonna ruin Nuea's life with that arrangement. It is selfish and insulting to an innocent guy like Nuea. Nuea deserves a better guy than Lom. Lom's words are cheap and his actions speaks otherwise. If you really love someone, you make sacrifices for him. And you respect him the way he is supposed to be treated. You don't put him in an unfair situation where he will forever be regarded as a home-wrecker. You will live your life bravely with your own truth knowing that at least you are not living a lie.
To live a lie is just wasting your life. While the boys decides to resign themselves to this arranged fate, fortunately, Yiwa ran away with Marine from the wedding! I hope next week's finale will resolve it nicely with her coming to terms with her mother. Good for her! I see mothers fighting each other for next week's promo. YAS!!! I'm here for the drama!
I agree with this. I've seen some really nasty comments and I don't think people realise how small their budget…
Exactly!!! It's also like damn if the BL actors are really Gay in Real Life too! They can be gay but only onscreen and damn if they do come out and be themselves. Then they are ridiculed and tagged with labels like fem or sissy when these gay guys are masculine and just normal dudes.
I was actually offended by another BL Watcher asking me what's the difference between BL and Queer story (check my latest comment here). Can you imagine me explaining my sexuality to these Fujoshis? The audacity and ignorance of these ladies is just despicable. They are just like Kevin's wife in this show!
I 'm so sick of these BL Fangirls just attacking us for expressing our opinions here too. Hello it's OUR Story being told, we have every right to say what we feel about same sex love in these shows!
And if we mentioned anything constructive about their fav BL actor regarding acting skills, we will get attacked and cyber bullied by their Fujoshi online friends (a certain Eclipse obnoxious long-winded lady here and her gang of evil Fujoshi bullies).
I agree with this. I've seen some really nasty comments and I don't think people realise how small their budget…
I'm also annoyed by the negative and condescending comments too from other BL watchers mainly Fujoshis who just want to tear down a small production like this trying to tell their queer stories. One even dare to ask me whats the difference between BL and Queer story. Imagine me trying to explain my sexuality to them? They just want to pick a fight for no reason.
I don't understand what you mean by "this is not a Bl series it is a queer series". What's the difference?I mean…
There is a difference between BL and Queer story. I'm pretty sure you know the difference. As a queer guy, I can see it. BL target mainly female audiences fujoshis etc, queer story target gay audiences. Gay story focus on sexual orientation of the characters, gay issues and gay struggles. BLs usually don't focus on these, they focus on two handsome guys falling in love like a romantic comedy, serving a mainly heterosexual female audience.
I'm hoping Kevin makes the right choice and leaves his toxic wife, who apparently MAME'd him back in the day and resulted in a child. Archie doesn't deserved to the third party here. But is Kevin willing to lose everything? I mean you can't really force someone to love you if he already loved someone else. She deserves Karma and I hope she gets it next episode.
Damien needs to appreciate Hayden more. I know grief is grief but I hope he realizes Hayden's unconditional love for him too. They look so adorable together. I want a Happy Ending for this couple!
As for the heterosexual couple from the beginning, I almost forgotten their story. Who are they again?
Visually, this series is quite beautiful. The acting here from Kevin and Archie's story is also touching and heartbreaking.
Judging from most queer productions in queer film history, I do not expect a Happy Ending for this series. Afterall, this is not a BL series, this is a queer series.
And please don’t ask me what is the difference between BL and Queer story. It is really condescending and downright disrespectful question to even ask this.
This episode seems to be directed, written and edited by an AI. I'm so confused by the change of artistic direction and character deterioration of Ashi and Punn. I don't really know what Ashi wants really in Punn now. Suddenly he decides to neglect Punn after all the words he said to him last episode? Words are really cheap huh? So weird. It's like they suddenly want to introduce some conflict in their relationship just for fun. And now Punn's being blackmailed by Sompriao. If I were Punn I will go straight to Wan and tell her everything! As for Ming and Nam, I need a proper storyline not a random sex scene here and there. It's hot but i hope Bosston and Jo have the opportunity to show us this relationship fully too. Bosston and Jo have the potential to be next hot BL couple and I think they should just show us everything in this show.
This is what happens when you don't communicate well and ends up having all sorts of misunderstanding of each other. Sigh. SMH real hard at this. What a Mess! Talk to each other openly guys like normal adults! LMAO
JiangChi is such a sweet boyfriend. He really wants to understand what's bothering BuXia and will try to do all he can to fulfil his needs. Such a caring BF! BuXia must learn to let go of whatever issues he's having with himself and just embrace the romance with JiangChi. JiangChi accepts him for who he is and such a guy is very hard to find. I hope next episode we will see some sensual romantic scenes. I really felt a bit touched when BuXia's sister was explaining BuXia's challenges. Fantastic acting and chemistry between these two leads! I hope they stop arguing soon and start loving each other more!
I don’t care about the special effects because the acting here is just so comfortable to watch! Film and Jam can be so tender and romantic together and just love to watch their scenes. I just love the pace of this show now and just can’t believe it’s gonna end soon! 😭
So pacing issues was mentioned earlier and since I have time, I rewatched the cut version. I think if you are impatient, you should watch the cut version first and then the uncut version when you have time to waste. Gonna start reading the English sub novel cos I need to find out who the moustache merman is actually.
Finally! We get to experience the hype and I must say, the acting here is just stunning! I'm emotionally drawn into the character of Jom. My heart breaks for him, losing his partner Ohm to a pregnant fiancée.
What's up with the fiancée stories in recent BL shows? Wedding Plan, Jun & Jun and now this? I'm getting annoyed with this storyline but I guessed it's based on a BL novel written by a female so I guess I have to settle with that. As a Queer guy, it's one of the compromises I have to deal with when I try to find and consume queer content in entertainment and since this is a BL written for fujoshis anyway. Better than nothing I say.
But my heart breaks for Jom again. Almost getting attempted MAME'd by another clubber in the carpark and saved by his puke, we see him drink driving and self-disrupt into the Chao Phraya river where he was saved by Moustache Merman Yai and ends up in old ChiangMai town and found by Ming. And then on the boat back to Ming’s place they both fell again into the river, at this point I expected them to travel back to current but nope, he is rescued by Yai (again?).
One critical note is that I’m watching the uncut version on YouTube so some parts of the episode seemed slow especially the part when Jom was exploring Old ChiangMai town. Hopefully the pace picks up next week! 🤞
Now I gotta go read up the English novel since I cannot wait for next week.
This is giving me F4 Boys Over Flowers vibes with the bullying plot. And the acting is better than another current BL series airing after this, so I’m very glad to be entertained by Perth and Chimon’s spectacular chemistry too. I can just enjoy their characters without worrying about acting skills. They have the chops to be leading characters in their own shows and bringing them together is such a genius idea! I’m so looking forward to next week’s episode. I have a feeling this is gonna be a classic good GMMTV BL series! Amazing start!
So I guess theres 3 more episodes left and still no proper story? A confusing flashback start and add in a couple of characters that I wouldn't care really, and that annoying fiancée giving me MAME's Wedding Plan teas. What is happening really? What kind of story are you trying to tell us, scriptwriter? That Lee Jun has 3 guys interested in him? What does Choi Jun want anyway in Lee Jun anyway? Dude, you're Chaebol-engaged so that really can't change right? Or either just leave Lee Jun alone and let him be chased by the other 2 guys as he so deserved. No gays would want to be caught as the 3rd party 'homewrecker' role thank you very much. This is 2023, we have choices and many guys to date.
Exactly! I don’t understand why so many people are hating the sponsor especially in every drama there’s sponsors…
Yup!!! The fact that they are taking the effort for it to be incorporated into the story so I don't see the reason to hate on these sponsors, It's just so ridiculous at this point some of these comments are. I find the plot so refreshing as it's very relevant to many queer people this arranged marriage thing. Plus McD is like so common, so I felt rather realistic to see them in these settings.
i'm actually fine with the mcd scenes?? they're a sponsor and plus i'm pretty sure it's become a special concept…
Exactly! I don’t understand why so many people are hating the sponsor especially in every drama there’s sponsors anyway so many GMMTV shows have sponsors but I don’t see them complaining. So weird and in fact when I saw the takeaway McD bag it sort of relates to me too. So real life. McD’s like a common place for dating too in real life. These haters are just silly at this point to even hate on the sponsor.
