WHY ON EARTH would you watch with English dubbing anyway and not the original Language?!Half the Cultural nuance…
I am in Australia and dubbing has never shown up on any of my other drama choices, hence the delayed reaction in recognising why I was disliking the drama. As #Kathryn_51 said when your native language is English ..... BTW I am on MDL to track my viewing and have recorded 786 Asian dramas etc. non has ever came up dubbed so this was an anomaly.

I have been watching films and dramas in their native language for over 40 years so not stupid or allergic. I am on Viki because my preference is for all Asian forms of entertainment. I was poking fun at my realisation there was even a choice to listen in English that I wasn't aware of because I never needed it.
I am watching this on Viki and for some reason this drama gave off AI vibes until I realised it was the fault of the English dubbing that was so horrible. My Bad. I went into settings and selected original language, now I think I will need to rewatch again from the beginning.

I also cannot yet find the China policy online, however, their censorship stranglehold is growing. Case Study Two: Censorship of Historical Nihilism in this US generated document details the extraordinary lengths China is going to to rewrite history. This implies any reference to BL, male concubines or LGBT activities that do not conform to the heroic masculine portrayal currently espoused. Their influence includes other dictatorial regimes. https://www.uscc.gov/sites/default/files/2024-02/Censorship_Practices_of_the_Peoples_Republic_of_China.pdf
I was wondering how it aired! So it was a Singapore release... interesting!
They are still in danger - The new Chinese policy states that broadcast location doesn’t change filing and review requirements. If a film or TV project is produced in mainland China, it must follow Chinese laws and complete filing and review procedures—regardless of whether it will be shown domestically or abroad. Releasing or broadcasting content without approval is illegal. Authorities can impose penalties such as halting production, confiscating income and equipment, fines, license revocation, and temporary employment bans. Not to mention the targeted actions against the actors in terms of endorsements, fan signing etc.
the two main actors have me so invested in their onscreen lives my heart is aching. Both are now facing huge misunderstandings and have gone into protect mode. Their acting is fire.
Haven't read the manga or watched the Japanese movies yet but the Korean adaptation of it was freaking brilliant.…
Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san and Tenno no Ryoriban were two dramas that pulled me into their slice of life activities and had me invested in their outcomes.

My heartfelt support goes out to Zhao Lusi. I was a therapist for 10 years and I want you to know when you begin focusing on your mental, physical and nutritional health you will become stronger. That strength will enable you to be less vulnerable. You will keep your innate compassion. You will be wiser about choices. You will learn to attract others who are caring and block others who may cause harm.
Just googled 'average age loss of virginity by country' and you're pretty far off. It's over 18 almost everywhere.…
Just followed this extensive to and fro and I just want to say I applaud your responses. Your measured and logical replies were a breath of fresh air when dealing with the responder.
I added to my PTW list because I am such a fan of Gong Yoo and I will try to pick a time when I am feeling chill so I can be patient with the pacing of the storyline.
