So the past Zhao Ming died in the final battle because the Demon Lord has restored his soul while ZM had a portion missing. In order to maintain the timeline, Demon Lord is sent back to the past to repeat the same steps he took the last 10000 years.
Final scene shows XieXueChen alive instead of Demon Lord.
Why this is the case, I think it could be due to Demon Lord wanting to rest and reunite with A Zhu in a way after another 10000 years of suffering. Perhaps he gave let his own consciousness get absorbed instead of XXC when XXC sacrificed himself to revive Muxuanling? This would explain why he still has demonic energy in the end: The consciousness is XXC but the body is Demon Lord.
There are a few plot holes I cannot rectify tho:
1) In the original timeline, ZM dispersed his own divine veins across the world to give ppl the ability to cultivate. But in the new timeline, Demon Lord replaced ZM and did the same. But technically, he wouldn't have anything to disperse since he had already dispersed his when he went through all this the first time! ... the only explanation I can think of is time restoring his Divine Veins when he got sent back in order to maintain continuity... But I still feel it's a stretch...
2) Demon Lord was sent back to the past with a complete soul. This means there is an extra portion of his soul that technically still exists (in A Zhu). This portion of his soul still eventually becomes XXC and in the end still merges back to with the Demon Lord... who already merged with XXC's soul... so he has an extra portion of his soul now? And is even stronger? ... Tho perhaps this could explain why it is XXC in the final scene and not Demon Lord. With 2 portions of XXC's soul it became stronger than Demon Lord's consciousness so he became the primary consciousness, inheriting Demon Lord's memories instead of the other way around originally... but also a stretch.
3) After beating HaoTian, Tian Ming is supposed to retrace all his original steps which includes throwing himself into the mortal world to wander for 10000 years and eventually sacrificing himself to beat HaoTian. But instead, he kills himself right after A Zhu jumped into the mortal world... This I have no explanation to resolve... Without his role in the future, HaoTian could never have been beaten. So him killing himself so early throws the entire timeline out of place!
Finally starting this. I know the leads are supposed to be Tian Qi and the reincarnation of Yue Mi but why do their names not match? Is it another case of The Last Immortal where they just changed everyone's names?
Just watched first episode and I kinda want one thing spoiled... From what I can tell both leads traveled back to the past but the ML lost his memories of his past life. Does he get it back?

Sci-Fi/Fantasy and preferable time travel related?
I’m curious about the relationship btwn the FL and her best friend now that they’ve lived different times
Unless that "fate worse than death" is becoming an angel, which in the perspective of most demons, could be worse... 🤔
